...Okay, so I watched Rebel Moon: both parts of it.

(resigned eyeroll) Right, there's [n] hours of my life I'll never get back. Punctuated by many exclamations of "Why does this knockoff Evil Empire give a shit about so small an issue?", "Why do the energy weapons all look so drippy?", and "I don't care about any of these characters."

Now filing the occurrence under "Experience is the best teacher," "fatal errors of scale (mismatch type)", "toxic slo-mo", and "no more irrationally desaturated palettes". :/

Not a mistake I'll make again. ...And this from a woman who's already watched Black Adam three times in an attempt to figure out how and what went so wrong with it.

(Then again, maybe I just like looking at Pierce Brosnan in that beard. Or maybe it's just that I've always had a soft spot for Dr. Fate.) (shrug)

Now I need to do something structurally straightforward and simple as a corrective. Like make parsnip and bacon soup, and go have a post-case talk with the 1895-cyberpunk-London version of Sherlock Holmes for the story that's due at the end of the month. (Because the simplest way to build a story like this is to deal with the mystery backwards...)
