I don't understand why they've introduced the entire deity angle in Song of the Crimson Nile.

Considering the fact that Anubis was actually the son of God Set and Goddess Nephthys (Merenset) according to Egyptian Mythology and has also been introduced in some respect in the book already as a deity, it is safe to conclude that Evthys is simply Nephthys' namesake and not the actual goddess. Her branches with other LIs would make no sense whatsoever then.

So in case one chooses to pursue Set's branch, he is essentially cheating on the actual goddess Nephthys and mother of his son with her namesake local trouble maker Eva!?

Considering how there was some buzz about Anubis being a possible LI, it makes the entire dynamic very weird.

Makes no sense to me personally and that's why I'm trying to avoid Set's route. I'd love to hear your opinions in the comments/reblogs.
