A Random The Gaslight District/Mud Theory

Alright, so this is less of a theory and more just a brain fart I thought l'd share. So, since the show unambiguously draws from Gorillaz as a source of inspiration, what if Mud's name is actually a nod to the fact the virtual band's bassist, Murdoc Niccals, is frequently referred to as "Muds". This is honestly pretty inconsequential and trivial, but my brain sorta made the connection out of the blue the other day and it's been bouncing around in my head since then.

if there's ever been a doubt in anyone's mind that she was partially raised by murdoc, i'm sure it didn't take long for them to change their mind. ten years old and she's already making bets with the ghost that possesses her friend.

Some of the hate on Paula Cracker is based on mysiongony + I wish Paula stayed bitter

I might be a bit biased here as Paula in my 3rd favorite Gorillaz character, but there are times I feel she's too overhated in the fandom. Whenever I see anything related to Paula, like on Pinterest for example, there are people calling her a "Whore" or a "Slut" for hurting their "Precious 2-D" under the comment section.

It's not wrong to hate her at all as she did cheat on 2-D with Murdoc, but Paula gets all the hate while Murdoc gets a slap on the wrist compared to her when he's not shown an ounce of remorse for having an affair with 2-D's girlfriend. He's still loved when he's done way worst to 2-D. Murdoc's never apologized, meanwhile (according to the Almanac on the "Where Are They Now" page) Paula apologized to 2-D with his favorite pie and they both moved on from the incident.

"She's a side character we don't know much about her unlike Murdoc!" In my opinion that's not that good of a point, you are hating on a character that done something bad to a beloved character 20+ years ago that they both moved on from instead of the character who's treated said beloved character like shit for 20+ years. Although this could be hypocritical of me as I still like Paula even tho we don't know much about her. It's probably because of the version of her in my head.

It's great she's learned from her mistakes but honestly I wish she stayed as the bitter ex girlfriend. Not every character needs some redemption arc. Just imagine reading her page on the Almanac and she doesn't feel sorry for what's she done and still has one sided beef with Noodle, thinking she should have been famous. Idk it would have been a little funny.
