I feel like the author actively tried to make the anatgonist more psychotic so that Jin Woo could have the higher moral ground.

-Hwang Dong Su tries to take revenge for his brother despite being a bad person? oh no later it is revealed he just like killing people.

-Kang Tae Shik is out there killing criminals who abuse the power of being hunters by sexually assulting someone? next line yeah he is also just doing this for fun and becasue killing people is better than monsters.

-Thomas Andre is a person who wants to protect his guildmates at all costs and will fight anyone who tries to hurt them?

well... i guess that doesnt matter as much.

There is also not mentioning the fact that every other antagonist is just:

Serial Killer (Dong Suk and lizards)

A monster who wants to kill (even though that "no choice except fight" mana crystal could have been explored)

The one that just likes killing for fun (Monarchs, Ant King, albeit Beru did get explored more but thats becuase he is a shadow :)

And Goto Ryuji

#legit why i love goto is that he was the only character that actively hated Jinwoo; knew the full extent of his power and still hated him #rat mf was like heck yeah imma be king and proceeded to fight everyone for that shit.#the other antagoniat hunters just wanted to prove their strenght if they didnt bow to jin woo or humble then they died by his hands #and if they were to know the extent of his power then they would all just bow down to him entirely.#he wasnt there to like him either like half the other cast that wasnt killing jinwoo #he just ouright hated that mf for being strong and disrespecting him #boomer shit #got no petty tricks like Hwang dong so. nor was he superficially fighting with a noble reason #yes he died. its what should have happened in like the very first moment. but man did not fuking stop to run away. he should have.#it woukd have been cool seeing just more of him being extended past that hate. and he is obv an asshole.#he is just a whole new can of spite #solo leveling manwha #solo leveling #sung jin woo #solo leveling spoilers #hwang dong soo #thomas andre #goto ryuji rant again hahahahah
