Finally finished this drawing. Only took me months and two other previous documents/attempts. Oh well! I'm proud of the result. It was fun to make! Took me about two hours and forty-six minutes.

Here are Aaliyah and Erik! They're some of the classmates in the Year Eight class. They're the most laid-back of the bunch. They would also consider themselves the most normal, which isn't too unbelievable if you look at their classmates.

The argument? Well, I know the answer, but that's for you to find out when I make the series! I can say it's the class arguing, though. It's a particularly big fight.

Hal Street Six (Protagonists)

I'm very happy with how these guys turned out! I always avoided drawing them from the front because I didn't know how to draw their different nose shapes from the front. I'm happy with how I've drawn them! I like how they look in general :]

For those who have never come across these OCs of mine before, these are the protagonists to my main story Halboro: 1994 (abbreviated to H94). They live on the same street in the only houses on that street. It's located at the very north of a tiny back-water town in south-western Queensland.

The story is, as the title suggests, set in 1994. It's a drama with some slice-of-life elements. Each episode in the story will follow a day in the year, and then the next, and then the next, and so on. I've got a total of 365 episodes to make. Wowie!

However, the plot isn't solely focused on these guys. I'm too invested in the side characters for that. Particularly, the story also shines spotlights on their families, classmates, and even teachers and other townies.

These guys are in year eight, which in 1994 was the first year of high school in the state. They go through a ton of trials and tribulations--school fights, exam meltdowns, and high school cattiness--but also get lots of accomplishments.

I was going to give intros to all the characters here, but I did Renee's and it was already big. I plan to put each of their intros into separate posts! That way, I can ramble as much as I want without having to have gigantic piles of text, even if it's under a read more button.

I'm so proud of this. Barbara, my girl! I love her here. She looks so cute. I imagine this would be a page in a magazine in a model AU or something. She's such a strawberry girl.

Prices are approximately double when adjusted for inflation. Very expensive clothing.

Yeah! :D

'Growing Pains' fits the teenagehood theme way better than just naming the story after the setting and year. It's catchier, too! I am keeping the '1994' bit though. The full title is Growing Pains: 1994. This way, I can make prequels and sequels by just changing the year!

It's not just restricted to teenagers, though, either. The whole story is about changing even though it's painful. Right on the nose, if you ask me! Change happens at every age, but I like how growing pains are a teenager things, considering my protagonists are adolescents.

Fun fact: I got the idea for the new title from messing around with writing the old one. I never settled on a font or composition for it. When I was stacking the letters so they'd fit on a comic cover, I realised it looked like it was all messy (in a good way). Then, I thought of the letters growing around each other. That's how I got to the new name!

I do keep forgetting to change the tags, though. It is such a pain not having my new tags in the suggestions. I have to replace the old ones, too. Ugh!

Alrighty.

Renee: basic. Basic as hell.

Lucas: so damn messy it's not even funny. He just doesn't really clean it. Says he doesn't mind the mess. It's an, "I know where everything is," kind of messy. Tons of posters on the wall and motorbike figurines on shelves. Kinda cluttered. Has a CRT TV stacked on some furniture. Basic doonah cover on a king single bed.

Ally: also kind of cluttered, but not necessarily messy. She's required to clean her room all the time as per her parents. Still has lots of belongings, though. Lots of sports memorabilia and has a messy binder full of sheet music. Cool patterns or some flora-themed doonah covers on a double bed.

Mary-Anne: so grandmacore-floral-ruffles aesthetic. She has tons of stuffed toys and other cute figurines. Uses a lot of softer colours, especially pinks. A big bed with tons of soft blankets and a pretty doonah cover (again, floral). Big wardrobe.

Lola: shares a room with Jack. Her side is full of celebrity posters and is messier. Lots of warm colours (especially red). Has big plastic boxes under her bed full of random belongings. Some stuffed toys on her bed. Single bed with red plaid doonah cover.

Jack: shares a room with Lola. His side is a lot neater. Has a stack of books on and in his nightstand. In control of the bedside lamp. Has one singular stuffed toy on his bed. Lots of cool colours (especially blue). Khaki-coloured doonah cover for some godforsaken reason. Has a single bed.

Another artwork! I've been enjoying practicing hands lately, so I decided to draw the Hal Street Six's hands. It was good fun! The background was annoying, though.

Okay, so, no drawings for this one as that would take forever haha. I do want to draw them eventually though! I'm just doing the main characters too so I can save time.

I tried to go with what they would have story-wise, but I can't resist the temptation of Pokémon that don't fit the town's environment. These aren't full teams because that would be hard to figure out and draw and also I just don't think they'd be able to manage six Pokémon each haha.
