I'm very happy with how these guys turned out! I always avoided drawing them from the front because I didn't know how to draw their different nose shapes from the front. I'm happy with how I've drawn them! I like how they look in general :]

For those who have never come across these OCs of mine before, these are the protagonists to my main story Halboro: 1994 (abbreviated to H94). They live on the same street in the only houses on that street. It's located at the very north of a tiny back-water town in south-western Queensland.

The story is, as the title suggests, set in 1994. It's a drama with some slice-of-life elements. Each episode in the story will follow a day in the year, and then the next, and then the next, and so on. I've got a total of 365 episodes to make. Wowie!

However, the plot isn't solely focused on these guys. I'm too invested in the side characters for that. Particularly, the story also shines spotlights on their families, classmates, and even teachers and other townies.

These guys are in year eight, which in 1994 was the first year of high school in the state. They go through a ton of trials and tribulations--school fights, exam meltdowns, and high school cattiness--but also get lots of accomplishments.

I was going to give intros to all the characters here, but I did Renee's and it was already big. I plan to put each of their intros into separate posts! That way, I can ramble as much as I want without having to have gigantic piles of text, even if it's under a read more button.

im gonna start posting fanfic recs btw whenever i find good ones. both here and my (awfully barren) 18+ account. because there are so many good fics out there with so few hits and fewer kudos and sometimes no comments period and it SUCKS because i REALLY LIKE THEM A LOT.. and i hope that by linking them here and yelling at everyone to COMMENT DAMMIT they might actually do it

seriously though any comment means a lot. most people who read a fic don’t even give a kudos. even if the fic wasn’t top tier, if you didn’t dislike it, hand over some kudos!! and if you liked it, comment!!!! even if the comment is one singular heart emoji it will be appreciated. if the comment just says “great fic!” the author will be happy. your comment doesn’t have to be this long winded gushing or analysis.

so many authors quit writing or lose motivation because the comments are few and far in between or just sometimes nonexistent. trust me when i say authors don’t care about how long or cool or smart sounding your comment is i promise!!!

i hope that mmmaybe recommending fics and telling people to comment might help fics i really like get more support maybe. and i, points at you reading this, hope that you will listen!!!at least a little….at least sum kudos….

Four minutes later, Gu Yiran is leaning against the nurse’s station in his striped hospital pyjamas, waiting for Zheng Bei to pick up the phone. His skin is prickling from the sense-memory of the last time he’d dialed these eleven digits from memory. The phone presses a hard line of plastic against his cheek. When the line connects, Gu Yiran says, quickly, “Zheng Bei, it’s me. I’m fine.” It’s still not fast enough to avoid hearing the stutter of Zheng Bei’s worried breathing over the line, for just a moment before Zheng Bei gets his voice under control and says, “Gu-laoshi, did you need something?”

Pretty weird of the Brawl Stars community to be freaking out about people headcanoning a character with an unconfirmed age that could very reasonably be an adult as an adult because “it must only be because they want to draw porn of underage characters and ship them sexy style with people way older than they are!”

Believe it or not, guys, that’s not the only reason somebody would headcanon a character that way! Crazy thought, I know! Extra crazy thought: imagine they ALSO headcanon that character as asexual. Insane.

What a twisted and fucked up mind that person must have to headcanon such atrocities! They must be a terrible person who should be condemned for their vile actions!!

“Ugh. Dude, this is like, the third time this week, Wemmbu. Can you like, try and be a little more normal about me?” 

Zam rolls her eyes at him when his guards drag Wemmbu into the throne room, the clothes he'd borrowed (well, stolen, but on Lifesteal, there really wasn't much of a difference) from his doppelganger slightly stained with soot and redstone. 

Zam’s smiling as he looks down at Wemmbu, a brilliant light glowing from the sunny halo that encircles his head. He wants to rip it from Zam’s skull and use it to slit his throat— but Flamefrags is standing just a block away with a netherite sword, and while Wemmbu could probably survive it with the same exploits that got him on here in the first place, he'd really rather not reveal his hand immediately. 

Also, Zam’s rather nice to look at when he’s acting all confident like this. It makes Wemmbu wonder if he could've pushed his own Zam into acting a little more like this, if he just turned up the pressure a little more, pushed her buttons until she could no longer deny the blood on his hands.

Hm. Well, maybe not, on second thought. 

Wemmbu wasn’t sure if he liked that pacifist Zam who refused to raise her sword at any cost, but would send her guard dogs at any person who crossed her. At least this Zam was willing to get his hands dirty.

“You're— you're like, embarrassing yourself at this point. Seriously. Give it up, you're not gonna do anything with your… what was it? Orbital cannon? That’s a stupid name.” Zam blinks, one hand sweeping a strand of curly golden hair out of his eye, and stands up, walking closer and closer to Wemmbu until she stops right in front of him, motioning for Flamefrags and Manepear to leave them alone.

He's expecting the sword to his neck, sure, but the point of the blade pressing into his skin and the warm feeling of her fingers against his face, gently tracing the length of his cheek are unexpected variables— and, oh god, is that fucking perfume or blood? It smells like iron, so it could be either, but there’s also a tinge of some floral scent that he can’t quite place. Either way, Wemmbu shifts uncomfortably on the ground, silently hoping and willing Zam to come just a little closer. 

When she does, another unexpected thing happens. The sword falls to the ground, completely forgotten, as she settles on her knees, lowering herself to the same height as him. Oh, wow. It usually takes longer than this, but Wemmbu certainly won’t complain. “You are actually so stupid. Did you know that?”

To Wemmbu’s credit, he doesn't immediately jump forward and try to eat Zam’s face off. He’s not quite sure the prince-emperor would appreciate it if he ruined his makeup this early into the day. Then again, he did try to bomb the Prince Zam Empire earlier this morning, so surely she wouldn’t be too mad about her makeup compared to the attempted nuking? 

He doesn’t have to worry about that, though, because as it turns out, it’s Zam who ruins it first, yanking Wemmbu forward by his fitted shirt collar and smearing lipstick across his mouth as she cups the back of his head, teeth nibbling on his lower lip as he tries to wear down Wemmbu’s defences. At some point during the kiss Wemmbu thinks he can taste blood, and when he dares to look at Zam in the eye she’s grinning like the little yellow smiling freak she is. 

When Zam finally pulls away, Wemmbu is left practically reeling, glaring up at the prince who just smiles sweetly at him, pulling a handkerchief out of her pocket to dab at the blood staining her face. “You lost this time,” Zam says, then, as an addition, “And also twice before that. Three in a row is a pretty bad track record, dude.”

“Oh, shut up,” Wemmbu rolls his eyes. 

He’s about to say more— point out the fact that he’s never really actually won, because that would require him to level the Prince Zam Empire to the ground and honestly he doesn’t really want to do that, not if it means that Zam won’t be around to match him anymore; or maybe the fact that he hails from a server where murder is the norm and it would be so much easier than Zam thinks to shove a sword between his ribs, make him choke on a poisoned meal or gouge his eyes out with Wemmbu’s bare hands— but then Zam is sitting on his lap, soft, ungloved hands pulling his face down to level, and Wemmbu—

Well. It’s pretty hard to think with a prince in your lap. 

It’s harder (haha) for Wemmbu specifically because this isn’t just any prince, this is Zam, and his blood is still crusted at the corner of her lips where the handkerchief hadn’t reached, and it’s just difficult for him to do anything but stare up at Zam reverently.

“You’re the one who’s going to shut up,” Zam says, voice dripping with honey, and then he bites Wemmbu again, tongue darting out to lick away the blood before she’s on him again, practically trying to smother Wemmbu with the taste of his own ichor. He can honestly barely think with the weight of Zam in his lap and the feel of her touch on his face, but Wemmbu is a self-saboteur in the best of times and he thinks himself a comedian, so when Zam reaches behind him to undo the chains binding his hands, seemingly bored by his limited reciprocation, the first thing he does is reach into his inventory for a small stick of TnT and put it in his hotbar.

Zam doesn’t notice what he’s doing immediately, which is good, if a little worrying. Seriously, for someone who faces so many goddamn assassinations (and he would know! He’s been the attempted assassin no less than 28 times, and it’s been only a month or so since he’s found his way onto Unstable) she really has no sense of self-preservation when in the middle of a makeout session. 

Speaking of. Wemmbu snakes his hand underneath Zam’s shirt, revelling in the fact that she shivers at his touch. He traces along the flat planes of Zam’s back, then slowly inches his way back to the front of her shirt, and— oh, God. Is he not wearing a fucking—

Okay. Cool. Wemmbu has his hands on Zam’s boobs. That’s… cool. The prince doesn’t seem particularly nonplussed about it, either, he actually sounds quite happy about it, but this is a little bit too out of Wemmbu’s depth, and when he’s feeling a little bit out of his own depth, he makes stupid decisions.

He switches his hotbar item, and it takes only a second before Zam is wrenching himself away from Wemmbu, an unreadable expression on her face.

“Wemmbu,” Zam says slowly, as if she's sounding out his name. He blinks at her, trying to emulate that kicked puppy look that always worked on his Zam. It's a losing battle, but he figures he may as well try. At least he’ll look cute while dying with a sword stuck in his gut. Or maybe Zam will put it in his dick, which will look less cute, but it’ll be funnier, for sure. “Did you just try and put a stick of TnT up my shirt?”

“Well, I wasn’t actually going to do it, I think, but I kinda stopped thinking when I touched your boobs,” Wemmbu says, shrugging when Zam turns an almost murderous glare onto him. He sounds much more casual than he feels, still reeling a little from the unexpected experience. A little voice in his head mocks him for getting so riled up at touching boobs for the first time, and Wemmbu ignores it to try and face Zam properly. He’s going to pretend that TnT slipup was on purpose, starting now. “Give me a head start?” 

“You have ten seconds to get out of my sight,” Zam says, the rage in his voice practically palpable. Wemmbu laughs shakily, even as he stumbles his way out of the palace, weaving past each and every guard Zam sends running after him.

“Bye-bye, your highness!” He blows a kiss to Zam as he leaves, grinning when he notices the begrudgingly amused smile he sees her trying to hide. Hey, at least he didn’t fumble as spectacularly as that other him did. Speaking of which… he hadn’t framed his doppelganger in a while, had he?

Well. At least he had that to take his mind off things.

(Somewhere halfway across the world border, a different Wemmbu sneezes. “Please don’t tell me I’m about to be banned from another country.”)

Thoughts on L'Espée's debut?

I'm all for diversity and a better representation of women in motorsports. Take F1 academy, for example, they're doing a great job right now! However, I am not sure what to make of Porsche's decision... It's their first season, we don't know what their car is worth, and they decide to take on a woman as their first driver? It's a big risk for me, bigger than what it's worth tbh.

I see it more as a marketing ploy than a real strategy plan, a way to appeal to a larger audience. But F1 is not about marketing, it's about racing. And I don't think she will be able to hold her own against the other drivers.

What do you think?

First, you're deadly wrong on one thing: F1 has been about marketing for a long time now. That's why we have ugly liveries with I-don't-know-how-many logos, if you need a reminder. So, on that point, I think Porsche are not worse than other teams.

As for L'Espée, well, I think it would be unfair to form an opinion yet. We don't know if they want her to be their first driver or not. We don't even know who her teammate will be! I say let it simmer down before discussing it. Porsche knows what they are doing. They've been preparing this debut for a long time; let's give them the benefit of the doubt before jumping to conclusions.

Though I'm not a big fan of women in F1, saying L'Espée won't be able to hold her own is utter bullshit and shows you're quite biased. A simple look at her Wikipedia page is enough to realize that she's been good.

First in F3 (2019). First in F2 (2020). Second in F2 (2021). First in Formula E (2022). Third in Le Mans 2023 with Cadillac Racing... Some drivers on the grid wish they had her career.

Do you really think Porsche would risk their reputation like that? They wanted the best new thing and, well, turns out it's L'Espée.

Technically speaking, is this even legal? Her build is a huge advantage. She will be lighter than the rest of the grid and, thus, faster. Doesn't seem fair.

Q: Your appointment made quite the fuss, to say the least. How do you navigate the skepticism surrounding your future place on the grid?

ME: I don’t pay much attention to it. And to be honest, I expected that reaction. So did the team. We knew the announcement would stir controversy. Change tend to make people uncomfortable (shrugs). But in the end, it doesn’t really matter, you know? I’m here to race. To win. Nothing else.

Q: You’re debuting not only as a new F1 driver but as part of a brand-new team. How do you manage the weight of this double expectations—especially with the spotlight already so focused on you and your gender?

ME: Pressure’s actually a good thing. It pushes you to work harder and stay focused. I'm always hungry for a big challenge and being part of a new team, as a woman nonetheless, will give me one. So, yeah... the spotlight keeps me motivated, in a way.

Q: Some say your selection is more symbolic than merit-based. There’s notably been speculation about Susie Wolff’s influence behind the scenes in shaping your trajectory. What's your response to those questioning your credentials?

ME: I’m grateful for the support Susie has given me throughout my career. Without her, I wouldn't be half the driver I am today. So in a way, she did play a hand in my appointment at Porsche. Yes. But not directly. My place here is the result of my own passion, results, and commitment to racing.

Q: It’s been announced that Mick Schumacher will be your teammate in the upcoming season. The burning question we're all dying to know is who’s going to be Porsche’s number one driver?

ME: That’s not really our priority right now. What matters at this stage is getting to know the car and building a strong relationship within the team. Roles and strategies will naturally evolve as the season progresses, I guess. Our main focus right now is Bahrain. That will determine the upcoming year.

Something is going on with Porsche and L'Espée

Don’t get me wrong, I’ve followed the girl since Formula E—she’s proper legit. But a podium in her very first F1 race? With a brand-new team??

Something is definitely not right.

I mean... Porsche just entered the sport and already has pace that puts them ahead of McLaren, Ferrari, and Mercedes. On debut?? And their rookie driver (who’s never raced in an F1 before by the way) overtakes seasoned drivers and holds P3 under pressure like it's no big deal?

Not saying anything illegal is happening, but if this wasn’t a new team with a headline-making rookie, you can bet there’d be “routine checks” before the champagne dried.

So yeah. Congrats Maïa. But maybe the FIA can just... y'know... take a peek under the engine cover?

And you know she's going to think she's all that now because she finished on the podium when her team is definitely the only reason behind it. She's already so arrogant too... Did you see how she left Schumacher no room on Lap 6? She’s not here to play nice, not even with her teammate.

this is my most autistic half-birthday ever!

I gave myself the day to pursue a special interest and fulfill an offer I'd made last year.

The Jewish Virtual Library has a page listing all the rocket and mortar attacks on Israel since 2001 (which was when they first started). But it's incomplete. Last fall, I noticed it stopped in August, so I wrote to them offering to help update it. They thanked me and gave me some places I could look.

Today, I finally did it. I ended up cross-referencing with the lists on Wikipedia, digging through multiple Twitter accounts and outside news sources and NGOs, and sending them an email with my updates... plus an html file where I'd updated the code on the page so they could just check it and upload it instead of typing in all the data themselves.

I am such a huge nerd.

There's definitely more research to do. But I think I found a strong stopping place that let me actually send what I found and post about it. Which is always the hardest part. As my drafts folder could tell you.

I have more than two thousand drafts on here.

Anyway, I'm going to put my findings under a cut tag. Before you read on, I want you to try to guess.

Because one of the things I've been told most often by people who wanna Argue About Palestine Without Having To Learn Anything About Palestine (Or Israel Or History Or Imperialism Or Fact-Checking Or ?????) is that the reason for October 7, the reason for literally anything in fact, is that "Israel bombs Palestine constantly."

I want to put together a list of Israeli airstrikes next. I would love to reblog this with that information. But first, I want you to guess:

Note that this DOES NOT include terrorist car rammings, mass shootings, mass stabbings, bus bombings, suicide bombings, etc. It therefore excludes almost the entire Second Intifada.

After correcting the most recent four years and sending in my corrections, I made a list of the totals using the most complete collection I could find for each year. (Sometimes it was Jewish Virtual Library, sometimes it was Wikipedia, and sometimes they matched.)

2024: 12,629 (an average of 35 per day)

2023: 12,295 (34 per day)

2022: 1,180 (only 3 per day)

2021: 4,425 (12 per day)

2020: about 203

2019: 798+

2018: 348+, 0.95 per day

2017: Only 47!!! Why, it's almost like living in Canada!! 0.1 per day.

2016: Wow, only 20. See, if you go through the years backwards, it looks like progress is being made.  Very exciting. Until I get to the Second Intifada, probably. 0.05 per day.

2015: 58.

2014: oh right, that war. 4,778. (Wikipedia's 2015 list claims " In August 2014, Operation Protective Edge was ended after 4,594 rockets and mortars launched toward Israel. From the end of the operation came into force an unofficial cease-fire between Israel and Hamas." but there were three more after that, and 181 before it, listed on wikipedia alone. so like. 4,778 actually, for 13 a day.)

2013: 70 total. Wikipedia notes this was the lowest number since 2001.

2012: 2,442, or 6.7 per day.

2011: 680, for 1.9 a day.

2010: 365, for exactly one a day.

2009: 858, or 2.4 per day.

2008: 3,107! that's 8.5 a day.

2007: 2,807: 7.7 a day.

2006: 1,275, or 3.5 a day.

2005: 858. An average of 2.4 per day.

2004: 1,158.

2003: 637.

2002: 472.]

2001: "These attacks commenced in April 2001, although the first rocket to hit an Israeli city was on 5 March 2002, and the first Israeli fatality was 28 June 2004." I count 173 mortar attacks in 2001, however. Which makes the first fatality a critically-injured baby in 2001. And as soon as I make 250+ more edits and have the power to edit Wikipedia articles on "controversial" topics, I'll make it say so.

Grand Total: 51,685.

An average of SIX PER DAY.

FOR 24 YEARS.

I've been saying four.

But there were actually thousands that weren't listed on the Virtual Library site yet. It really cranked up that average.

Now consider this: between 10%-30% misfire and either crash into the sea, or hit Gaza.

A surprising number of Gazan casualties in every "conflict" have been from Hamas & Co's own missiles.

And they know this. And not only do they not care, but they keep using everything from mosques to humanitarian zones as rocket launch sites.

And why shouldn't they? You have to really dig to find information on how many Gazans die that way. Almost everyone just attributes the deaths to Israel. Hamas is never going to get any actual flak for accidentally killing its own civilians. It barely gets any flak for intentionally killing Israeli civilians, for pete's sake.

#give it a second or two and the resolve starts eroding

It's easy to give in to Anakin. Easier than it should have ever been, easier than what Obi-Wan would have wished it to be.

It's easier yet when the boy shows more patience than Obi-Wan had believed him capable of. He expected him to be impatient, for him to demand and to take and to not stop lest Obi-Wan's finally finds his resolve to say the right words, the proper words; No Anakin, that's enough. If only.

Yet he stands there, his former Padawan, gaze bruning, fingers shaking as he pinches Obi-Wan's tongue a touch too hard.

Obi-Wan's eyes shut but for a moment, swallowing thicky, just barely avoiding the humiliation of drooling. When his eyes flutter open he looks from one blue eye to another, searching for something, waiting for something. He does not dare think what. Something.

It's shamefully easy to pinpoint the exact moment in which his resolve snaps and crumbles—It's the exact moment in which Anakin's nostrils flare, eyes narrow, cheeks redden— "Master" he all but keens out in a rough, taken voice. "Yes, yes." the boy who had become his whole world says, letting go off of his tongue. And Obi-Wan? He does not take his tongue as he should, does not shut his mouth.

Instead he stays there, eyes lidden, jaw hanging, tongue out and red and ready— an easy thing to take, a willing one, at that.

The shame that burns in his gut has a name he does not dare think of. He will not consider what it makes him look like, he does not dare consider what Anakin might think, he does not dare.

He knows, and yet not dare. Will not. Not ever.

Anakin's eyes meet his again and the sentiment resonates in a slow pulse between them, he can feel it sinking down in a low rumbling heat, and they both inhale simultaneously. He needs... He...

"Yes, Master" Anakin says with obedience, as if he is not the one pushing all of Obi-Wan's buttons and restrains, as if he wasn't the one instigating the entire situation, as if he was merely following his Master's instructions, his... "Master-" Anakin gasps. Anakin sounds breathless, even while it is the Master who cannot breathe proper, cannot think, cannot stop.

There's but a moment of tense stillness, then finally, Anakin leans in.

The feeling of Anakin's lips closing around his tongue is a heady one, warm and wet, intimate in ways Obi-Wan does not know how to name.

It's expert and confident when Anakin sucks on his tongue.

It is powerful when he does not relent, does not gentle out.

All of Obi-Wan's senses narrow down to a singular point of attention— Anakin's flavor on his tongue, the taste of Anakin's passion, of his intent. It tastes like a burning spirits of the lower parts of Coruscant. If Obi-Wan didn't know any better, he'd think they were both drunk on it. He wishes it was the case. It would have been easier.

He'd have some crumbles of justification for what is happening, for the wanton moan that tears out unbidden whe Anakin sucks harder.

Obi-Wan's vision swims, there's only Anakin, and there's no longer shame.

He can feel Anakin's force signature nudging closer to his— and he allows it, shuddering, inhaling sharply through his nose and...

There's a sweet sort of relief when he givens in and thrusts his tongue deeper into Anakin's mouth. He almost smiles when Anakin whimpers at that. Anakin doesn't even so much as tries to hide it, to mask it. The boy was patient, even while demanding, he still was patient. Waiting until Obi-Wan had given in, not a moment before.

Good behavior deserves some positive reinforcement, Obi-Wan reckons.

He is vaguely aware that his train of thought, his examination of the situation is deeply compromised at this point.

He does not care.

At least not enough to stop himself from reaching for Anakin's hair, stroking through the curls firmly, intently. He grabs at it, fingers closing around the thick curls,yanking closer without a thought.

His eyes close as Anakin moans.

Oh Force, how he wants. Obi-Wan shudders with it, pushing his tongue even deeper into Anakin's mouth, wanting, wishing, hoping—

Anakin is all too eager to accept the invitation, to devour him live.

now, before i say these things, i feel the need to preface this by saying that i do not personally wish to align myself in this fandom debate. i am a tax-paying adult and do not have any energy or time to put into arguing about a tv show on the internet. nonetheless, i have seen people blindly spreading this post around and i feel this needs to be addressed.

it feels like it should be obvious with the levels of "down with cis bus" energy pulsating off of this, but it's a huge fucking lie.

this person is a known harasser and has targeted children in the past. they will do anything, and i mean ANYTHING to rack up attention and internet points. they have made bold claims like this with little to no evidence in the past all so they can garner more hatred for certain fandoms on the internet. testimonies here and here, and some pretty damning screenshots here.

i advise you all to stop reblogging the post ive shown. it's disinformation, a story fabricated to direct more vitriol towards a fandom with little to no proof that it can somehow make people like this or attract people like this. this person is either a troll or just plain deranged. please stop believing what they say.
