Lewis was asked why the RB18 is so good. Answers it. Praised RB/Newey and this ‘journalist’ of Sportskeeda (?) spins it into this. Some people shouldn’t be allowed in the paddock. Video of Lewis’s answer HERE.

“I want to look at it as a glass half full, we came here struggling from last race, we were fighting against the Red Bulls today, we were quicker than most at many points, without the safety car I think we would’ve been challenging them for the win on the one stop, which I don’t think the others could do. Hamilton ecstatic about GP Netherlands: "Why aren't there more circuits like that?"

Lewis has fond memories of the track, where he raced seventeen years ago. "In general, I like to race in Zandvoort. In Formula 3 it was great when I drove here in 2005."

The seven-time champion can enjoy not only Zandvoort, but also our capital. "For the race weekend I went into Amsterdam, had Surinamese food and sailed through the canals. It's such a cool city, one of my favorite cities and I could really live there. A beautiful place," he smiles.

But last weekend he was of course not in the Netherlands for Amsterdam, but for Circuit Zandvoort. Hamilton talks about the dune circuit with a big smile on his face, where he feels like a fish in water. He wonders why no more of these circuits are built these days.

“The weather is good here, the track is on the beach and it's a really cool, classic, old-school track. They don't make tracks like this anymore, no idea why. I really don't get that. Why don't they make tracks with these lovely curves, with a difference in height? Maybe I should start designing circuits myself!"

Not only is the track beautiful, Hamilton can also enjoy the folk party that is celebrated next to the track, even if 99% of the fans are cheering for Verstappen. "In general, I like the fans, no matter who they are for. I like the energy that the fans convey. It doesn't matter what sport it is, the fans create the atmosphere and provide the energy."

"It was Max's home Grand Prix, so he will probably feel about the same as I have in Britain. We see more and more fans coming to the sport and that's really great!" said Hamilton , who admits to have especially enjoyed Saturday.

"The atmosphere and the fans are great, but the track isn't optimal for wheel-to-wheel fights because it's hard to follow each other here. However, over a single lap it's so beautiful, turn three is incredible, especially when the car performs well," said the beaming Mercedes driver.
