Kashmir Great Lakes Trekking
The Kashmir Great Lakes Trek travels across four of Kashmir's most famous high-altitude lakes: Vishansar, Gadsar, Satsar, and Gangabal to reach its destination. The difficult journey will put you to the test regularly, as it will take you through some of the most stunning landscapes you will ever see. Mountain passes, snow-capped summits of mountains, luscious meadows, and trickling streams are all part of the hiking trail that winds through the Rockies.

Photo by- @indiantravelphotographer ・・・ Disclaimer: Everything We know about Kashmir in the rest of our country seems to be all wrong!! Blame it all probably on the games played by the paid media and corrupt politicians. It is so appalling that we are all being fed an unbelievable amount of lies about the safety in the valley. I spent roughly about a fortnight in the beautiful valleys of Kashmir and in the heart of Srinagar city and there was not a single spec of a moment either 30 or so of my trek friends or I felt that we are in any hostile territory. Of course both good and bad people exist & both good and bad things happen naturally like in any other part of the World. Terrorists are cowardly beasts that neither belong to any country nor religion. Kashmir is absolutely beautiful, safe for tourists and it is home for the wonderfully sweet Kashmiri people. A major amount of people in Kashmir depend on tourism for their livelihood and they have suffered far too long because of all the bad mouth that the media has fed the rest of the world. I saw a vast number of trekkers from various parts of the World which is a great welcome decision, on the mesmerizing ‘Kashmir Great lakes trek’ which I was a part of recently and I hope we get to give the outside world a little perspective and honest review of the state’s more than friendly condition. So glad that all of us trekkers decided not to buy what the biased media was trying to sell us, broke stereotype and went on this picture perfect trek. It is in fact the best time to visit the valley as there are currently not many tourists which is perfect for a very pleasant and peaceful vacation. And vendors are selling their stuff at almost throw away prices. So, it would call for an awesome shopping vacation as well. A lot of heartfelt Kashmiris asked us to let the outside world know about the real, peaceful and factual situation of Kashmir and I’m doing just that here. #kashmir #india #travel #trekking #sonamarg #yhai #hiking #wanderlust #portrait #kashmiri #stevemccurry #emotion #indiaclicks #indiapictures #indiatourism #himalayas #backpacking #cntgiveitashot #natgeo #people #indiaphotoproject #lpindia #srinagar
