MIDDLE SCHOOL GROUP PRESENTATION RUBRIC 📊📈📊📉📊📈 This can be used for #grouppresentations about a topic. -It makes grading #presentations SO EASY and ENJOYABLE! -It is used as a checklist as each student presents & then they receive their own score, based on their individual presentation and the peer feedback. When they are done, the scores are ready to be added to the grade book. -Aligns to #CCSS for #8thgrade #ELA, but can easily be adapted to any other #standards or grades. #rubric #PBL #CommonCoreStateStandards #project #powerpoint #sway #haikudeck #powerpointonline #office365 #prezi #present #googleforms #mixit #microsoft #present #middleschool #tpt #elateacher #research #microsoftoffice #highschool #SBG #teachersofinstagram #teachersfollowteachers #teacherspayteachers CLICK LINK IN BIO TO PURCHASE!

ADVANCE RESEARCH METHODS
Week 8: Seminars
GROUP PRESENTATION REVIEW
For my group project presentation, we chose to focus on the Surrealist Movement in relation to Art Theory and photography. We split ourselves to focus on three different parts to research about Surrealist art. My task was to focus on researching the basic information about the movement and to teach it to peer members. Lucy’s task was to focus on the main, most popular almost, artists within the movement, such as Breton, Dali and a not so well known Jeff Uelsman. and to explain a little about them. Then Michaela’s task was to look at how the Surrealist Movement is still around now and to focus on one contemporary artist that expresses it. She chose to talk about Masao Yamamoto.
As a group we all worked very well in deciding which topic to focus on and then within that which subsection to each focus on. We gave each other the space to do our own research then came together to create a presentation.  I found the whole experience of standing up and presenting in front of peers very nerve wrecking and stressful. However I got through it anyway and has made me stronger for it. The experience taught me how to put my fears aside and confidently present my presentation.
I found I developed new skills about research, to find the most interesting and relevant parts which will benefit. I wanted the information to be interesting and new from what we already know about Surrealism. However, if I were to do it again I would have researched more into the history of what happened in the time period of Surrealism and not just the movement itself.

I just realized-
that I can't go to the day6 concert becouse of the school (I live in Germany and come on. Day6 in Berlin? I need to see that!)
I was jamming out to 'I Wait' and god i was so happy but then I thought "Man it would be so cool to be on a Day6 concert" and then realised "oh wait they are coming to Berlin in January... ;-;" I almost cried ;-;
In the internet I was searching for tickets for the concert (just for fun yk) and... :)
4 (good) seats were still available for the same good price. I'm still sad.
If I wouldn't go to school on that day then I would get an F (in Germany a 6). (On that day we have to hold an important grouppresentation you need for your education. )
Another problem is the fact that I'm 15 but psssssccccchhht.
It doesn't matter anymore. ;^;
I hope that they'll come back to Germany. c: <3

Group presentation meeting
Monday 26th November 2018
We had our final meeting today before our presentation next Monday to go over the presentation and make some final changes. We realised that we have quite a few slides and decided to remove extra images and artists that we did not deem worthwhile to include in terms of the project.
We also went through the phrasing of content on certain slides and worked together to modify the conclusion so that it summarises the presentation as a whole.

Blog Task for Seminar
Write a reflective passage on your own group’s presentation: think about questions such as, what went well; what would you improve…
What went well?
As a small group of three persons, we had a sufficient amount of qualitative research obtained, which covered all several areas of discussion.  One part of the presentation involved thorough research, concepts, and criticism whilst the other part of the presentation was illustrated through the use of photographs and quotations from photographers. We successfully achieved intertwining the photographs and the artists quotations with the concepts we looked at: identity, memory, and family etc.
What would you improve?
If we were to improve as a group presenting photo-therapy again we would reduce the amount of research introduced into the first part of the presentation. This criticism came naturally whilst I was hearing the amount of information presented to the audience. To be specific,  Furthermore, additional sources regarding war Hiroshima will be essential as it was a real life case study which resulted in citizens experiencing a variety of trauma. The traumatic events were captured through photographic imagery thus, when talking about trauma in photography, is an ideal example. Finally, another point which we could potentially improve on is to prepare, as a group, for questions asked by the audience and professors. Although we had a sufficient amount of knowledge pooled together ready for retrieval there were a few questions which were difficult to answer - even from a personal perspective.
What did you learn from the process and discussion?
I personally learned more about the artists whom I always had an, almost distant interest in - it was a good opportunity to draw in and consider those I’ve always considered at the back of my mind. This also includes artists we have discussed in lectures, such as Nan Goldin, were looked into as a group.  We learned how to consider concepts such as the identity, the memory and how trauma can all interlink with phototherapy, from scratch.

Group presentation update
Monday 19th November 2018
We had our second meeting for the group project and it was very productive. We went through each person’s research for each section of the presentation that we are individually writing up.
Anna had already created a draft presentation which was formatted so we just need to write up and add our slides to it. We are planning to have our presentation completed by Wednesday so that in our next meeting we can ensure that we have everything we need included and that the slides link to each other appropriately.
