RJ's Platinum Collection #31: Bully

I remember when I was a kid in 2006, seeing advertisements for Bully at my local video game store and really wanting to play it. Unfortunately, my parents took one look at the title and assumed it was a game about being a bully, so I wasn't allowed to play it. I have vague memories of playing some of it at a friend's house, but I can't remember for sure if that actually happened. Either way, once I realized Bully was available to play on the PS5, I decided to play it at last, and get the Platinum along the way! And let me tell you all - this was one of the most fun Platinums I've gotten so far!

Bully sees you play as Jimmy Hopkins, a teenage hothead who has just been sent to the "prestigious" Bullworth Academy, which Jimmy quickly discovers is a cesspool of bullying, abuse, and never-ending chaos. The school is ruled with an iron fist by five cliques - the Jocks, the Preppies, the Greasers, the Bullies, and the Nerds - who are all constantly at war with each other, which is the biggest contribution to the overall miserable atmosphere of the school. Jimmy decides he's not gonna stand for that, and teams up with his new friends Petey and Gary to take over the cliques and bring an end to the bullying.

I initially decided that I would just play through the game casually, seeing what trophies I would get. Playing through the first chapter, where Jimmy arrives at Bullworth and gets into a conflict with Russell, leader of the Bullies, I ended up getting three trophies before completing the chapter.

I will say, I was genuinely surprised when Gary betrayed me at the end of the chapter. I thought he was a psycho, but I thought he was on my side. No matter Gary. Soon I will have my revenge.

1/38: Keener - Complete three classes.

2/38: Teacher's Pet - Complete six classes.

3/38: After Hours - Spend 5 hours out after curfew.

4/38: Freshman - Complete Chapter 1.

Once I started Chapter 2, which has Jimmy going up against the Preppies and their rich boy leader Darby, I finally took a peek at the trophy list and realized a lot of the trophies are very grindy. I thought about just waiting until the end of the game and grinding out whatever trophies I didn't have, but I decided that wouldn't be any fun, so my strategy from this point on was to just work on some of the trophies in-between story missions. By the time I finished Chapter 2, I had gotten three more trophies.

Confession time, I did totally use the cheat code to get as much money as you wanted specifically to get the trophy for having 1000 dollars at one time. Plus I needed the money for the trophy for buying all the clothes in the game.

5/38: Watch Your Step - Trip 25 people with marbles.

6/38: Rich Kid Blues - Have $1,000 in pocket change at once.

7/38: Kickin' the Balls - Kick 100 soccer balls.

8/38: Sophomore - Complete Chapter 2.

Chapter 3 went the same as Chapter 2. In-between story missions - this time Jimmy was facing off against Johnny, the romantically unstable leader of the Greasers - I continued working on the grindy trophies, while also kinda just fucking around. I can see why some people called this the "GTA for Kids" back in the day - just running around the map doing whatever you want is pretty damn fun. By the end of Chapter 3, I had 5 more trophies.

9/38: Popularity Contest - Gain 100% respect from 2 cliques simultaneously.

10/38: Helping Hand - Complete 10 Errand missions.

11/38: Skidmark - Give 50 wedgies.

12/38: Smart Mouth - Say 100 taunts.

13/38: The (Expert) Bicycle Thief - Steal 20 bicycles.

14/38: Junior - Complete Chapter 3.

Chapter 4, which sees Jimmy team up with the Nerds to take down the Jocks and their leader Ted, is when I really started buckling down on knocking out the grindy trophies. I wanted to get these trophies DONE. However, they weren't taking away the fun I was having playing the game - if anything, these trophies were adding to the fun!

Except the trophies for traveling by bike or skateboard. You have to constantly press the X button to make Jimmy go on those, and it hurts my thumb like hell to just hit the X button over and over and over. But by the end of Chapter 4, I had gotten 14 trophies and Jimmy was now king of the school.

Another side note: Jimmy can kiss all of his female classmates, but I was so excited when I discovered that Jimmy can also kiss one male classmate from each clique. We stan a canonically bisexual king.

15/38: Down for the Count - Knock out 200 opponents.

16/38: Speed Freak - Complete all Carnival go-kart races.

17/38: Smell Ya Later - Hit people with stink bombs 50 times.

18/38: Glass Dismissed - Break 300 bottles at the shooting gallery.

19/38: Casanova - Receive 25 kisses.

20/38: Green Thumbs Up - Pick 50 flowers.

21/38: Green Thumb - Mow the lawn 10 times.

22/38: Marathon - Travel 100,000 meters on foot.

23/38: Boy Genius - Complete all 5 classes for every subject.

24/38: Soda 'Licious - Buy 100 sodas.

25/38: Eggsellent! - Egg 25 cars.

26/38: Skate Pro - Travel 50,000 meters on a skateboard.

27/38: The Wheel Deal - Perform 200 wheelies on a bike.

28/38: Sharp Dressed Man - Purchase 250 clothing items.

29/38: Senior - Complete Chapter 4.

Now it was time for the final chapter of the game. Jimmy is on top of the world - until Gary returns after basically disappearing from the game since Chapter 1, turns everyone against him in the span of literally one day, and then gets Jimmy expelled, forcing Jimmy to team up with the Townies, a group of thugs who don't go to the school, to stop Gary and restore order.

I decided to buckle down and get all the remaining grindy trophies before I completed the final mission. The most annoying one for sure was amassing 160,000 trouble points, which you get for breaking rules or causing chaos. I followed a YouTube video which has you climb up a tree in town and repeatedly hit NPC's with a slingshot, which I had to do for quite some time before I popped the trophy.

Once I got the last grindy trophy out of the way, I completed the final story mission, defeated Gary, and completed the main story of Bully. Boom!

30/38: Pole Position - Complete all go-kart street races.

31/38: Problem Child - Amass 160,000 trouble points.

32/38: Little Angel - Complete 20 Errand missions.

33/38: Tour de Bullworth - Travel 100 kilometers on a bike.

34/38: Momma's Boy - Complete 30 Errand missions.

35/38: Graduate - Complete Chapter 5.

Once you beat Chapter 5, you unlock a free roam mode called "Endless Summer". I didn't spend much time in this, as I only had two more trophies left to get.

One of them was for unlocking all the room trophies, aka items that spawn in Jimmy's bedroom after completing missions, completing all classes, etcetera. There are 36 total room trophies, and by the time I finished the game I had 32 of them. The only ones I was missing was for smashing all gravestones (these are only available on the map on Halloween, after you can find them in the town warehouse), completing the paper route challenges, and two trophies you can purchase at the carnival. After doing all of those things, I unlocked the trophy for the trophies.

36/38: Kleptomania - Acquire all room trophies.

With that, I only had one trophy left, and that was for beating the high scores on all three of the Arcade games you can find at the prize tent in the carnival - "Consumo", where you are a sumo wrestler who must grab food while dodging enemies and rotten food; "Nut Shots", where you are a flying squirrel shooting down enemies; and "Monkey Fling", where you are a monkey killing spiders by throwing poop at them.

Yes, that last one is actually in this game.

This was honestly the most annoying trophy. Consumo and Monkey Fling were easy to beat the high scores on, even if it did take a few attempts. But Nut Shots was the WORST. It was so easy to get killed before you got even CLOSE to the high score. I eventually had to look up a YouTube guide to figure out how to beat it, and even then it took me almost an hour before I finally beat it. But once I did, I got the trophy, and then I got the Platinum!

37/38: Dual Nebula - Achieve a high score on the Consumo, Nut Shots, and Monkey Fling arcade games.

38/38: Valedictorian - Unlock every trophy.

Bully is an incredibly fun game. It's crude and chaotic, but ultimately it has a strong anti-bullying message. I loved the characters, and I think Jimmy is one of the best video game protagonists I've ever played. Bully is so good, it is one of the few games I played all over again start to finish even after I got the Platinum.

So I definitely think people should play this game. And Rockstar, you need to make Bully 2 already. It's been 19 years! We want Bully 2!

1 - When was the last time it snowed where you live? Do you like snowy weather or is it just a pain? Uh... Anyway, cold weather is definitely preferred. We're reaching high 40s now and will still go up to the 50s in May, and it is not only uncomfortable but also starting to get very inconvenient.

2 - Are you expecting any parcels in the mail right now? Not for a while. I ordered J-Hope's album but was already informed in advance that I probably won't get it until June since my shop ships stuff from Korea in bulk. Which is fine. With BTS on hiatus I've considerably calmed down when it comes to merch lol.

3 - How long is it until your birthday? Do you have any plans for the day? Like, 363 days haha. I just celebrated my 26th last Sunday, and all I did was watch a Spongebob movie with my sister in the morning, slept all afternoon, then went to my favorite hotel buffet for dinner with my family.

4 - What was the last thing you had to drink? Coffee. The Spanish latte I got tonight had a cracked lid so my jeans are now all soaked.

5 - Do you need to do any laundry right now? Yup.

6 - Who was the last person you got a notification from on social media? Is this person a close friend of yours? That would Alex, just a dude related to work. No, I wouldn't call him a friend but he is genuinely one of the nicest people I know.

No. I got a surprise credit card in the mail a few weeks ago (I say 'surprise' because apparently I said yes when I got surveyed years ago...? then I just forgot about it I guess LOL), but I absolutely refuse to use it. It's not even activated yet. I don't want to form a habit around paying things on credit.

8 - When was the last time you got a call from an unknown number? Did you answer or call them back? Can't be bothered to check when exactly, but I know it was a few weeks ago. I probably answered it because at the time I knew it would be someone work-related calling.

9 - When was the last time you got off work early? What was the reason and did you do anything fun with your extra free time? I don't do that, I always do the full 8 hours. Earlier this month though I did file a morning leave to attend a watch party for Wrestlemania.

10 - What do you typically eat for Christmas Dinner? Are you the one who cooks or does a family member do the cooking? My family is never consistent when it comes to Christmas spreads lmao, it's always different meals every year! For the longest time it was my mom and grandma who did the cooking; but now that I could afford to treat my family (and can't cook hah) I buy platters and trays of all kinds of stuff so that everyone can get what they want.

11 - What time did you wake up this morning? Did you get out of bed right away? I needed to wake up earlier since I already had a meeting scheduled for 9 AM. I think I started to wake up around 7:30.

12 - Do you have any plans for the weekend? Are these plans typical for a weekend or are you doing something different? Saturday will be for rest as I have back to back events on Sunday. I'd say at this point it is pretty typical for work to eat up what little free time I have - it also comes with the higher role - but I'm hopeful this phase would stop soon. I have no weekend events booked yet for May onwards so that's looking like a good sign.

13 - Would you like to work a job that involves going in and out of other people’s homes all day? (Like care work, painter, decorated etc.) That'd be cool, but I wouldn't know what kind of related job would fit me best. I did always have an interest in interior design – I like trying to look into people's living rooms when we drive by them in the village (but tbh this is also because I live around rich people and they all have super big minimalist mansions lol), and when I was younger all I wanted to do in GTA was to have a cheat code that would let me in people's homes lmao.

14 - When was the last time you had an injury? Was it a minor cut/scrape or something more serious? What happened? Sprained my ankle two years ago. I had one drink too many and ended up tripping in a bad way over some steps on my birthday, hehe... 15 - Do you ever watch movies or TV shows that require you to read subtitles? I mean I like having subtitles around in general. It's obviously helpful when watching foreign-language shows/movies, but even for English I prefer having them turned on because I hate it when actors mumble or have too-thick accents.

17 - How many people have you texted today? Are these people friends, family members or something else? People I've messaged today, outside of work, would be Angela, Lei, my mom, and sister. 3 out of 4 of these people are family.

19 - When was the last time you had a haircut? When was the last time you dyed your hair (if you ever have)? Hair cut: Year and a half ago. Dye: Around six months ago.

21 - Are you currently warm, cold or just right? Is the heating or air conditioning on to contribute to that feeling? I'm quite warm, but it's not as bad as the TERRIBLE weather earlier today. It's evening so it's a lot more manageable, but that's not to say I've stopped sweating because I still fucking am.

22 - What was the last piece of good news you received? Was it expected? Pharmacist licensure exam results came out today and I saw that my cousin passed. Yes, I always knew she was going to kill it.

I usually start to listen around the 2nd week of December, then go into overdrive between the 24th and 25th haha.

It’s that time again!

Yep you guessed it. Chiliad Alien UFO hunting’ time and I have a doozy of data for you hunters out there. This data in my opinion puts this myth to a viable close. Disappointed as I am, I can provide the evidence that there is definitely no interior to Chiliad in GTAV story mode, nor cable car elevator, nor anything in cable car station, also there is nothing beneath Zancudo, and the observatory is also an interiorless hollow shell. Maze bank has apparently an interior, but that as most story mode content has firm unglitchable walls, which doesn’t mean there is anything in there (sorry). To start there is only so many wall breaking points in game, my search so far has found around 4.

One at LS Hospital, one near Maze in an Aztec building, one near the observatory at Eclipse towers and one at the Templar hotel. My advice is to look for an overhang, like an invisible garage roof inside, when super jumping, or buzzard breaking through the roof, aim for that ledge, and if you land, then switch to a bird (eclipse is the only exception here, its entrance can be breached pretty easily by a pre-flying bird. You then dive straight down. And attempt to get as low as possible, the best and safest direction is towards the observatory. You have to be mindful of coded ground as it will insta-kill a bird.

About the weirdest thing I saw was the odd power lines, they weren’t linked to a specific source and webbed out all under Los Santos. They appeared to be invisible and could be passed through. Below is a picture

Other anomalies noted were glowing rail tunnels. I noticed the three main Chiliad tunnels in their retrospective (coded) spots.

To get to Chiliad I took both Zancudo’s route and Grapeseed. Grapeseed is much less nervy as there is no river/waterwall to pass through so long as you edge around Paleto Bay.

So that says it, right under the elevator. And nothing. 3 am thunderstorm etc. no shaft no indicator of any sort of underground room, in fact you can fly quite safely all over. And nothing in hangars but hollow space

So long story short. There is nothing hidden under GTAV, unless it’s activated by pre-script that’s that so to speak. The only two things that will never be able to be proven are what the abduction beam above is (obviously the elevator is just a place to hide). The next is sandy shores, yet nothing was under the hippy camp either.

These were done again through natural glitching via director’s mode. No mods, no cheats sampled from a series X which had 100% completion with extra gigs and even Wild Animal unlocked

I think that this can finally close the Chiliad hunt. Obviously the dev who started this likely left or was requited from the company, however they did still make a few contributions to online. Maybe the ultimate tie together will occur when GTA 6 is announced, because the GTA 5 servers will likely close then unless fan managed. And whatever these incomplete portions are will likely bring Player’s online accomplishments (or at least vehicles and extra guns) into single player. My guess is that’s the final Micheal DLC.
