Akhirnya (alhamdulillah) kesampaian mampir di Kepulauan Banda/Sunda Kecil. sayang di Pulau Flores belum sempet jejakin kaki (hehe pulau lain yang kecil-kecil juga belum sih) 

Udah jadi hal umum kalau sepanjang kepulauan Nusa Tenggara itu ada gugusan gunung. salah satu yang terkenal itu Gunung Kelimutu (yap! yang gambarnya ada di uang kertas 5000 tahun 1992) Senengnya bisa motret Gunung dan Danau Kelimutu walaupun dari atas pesawat. Moni

A week into our Flores travels we say sempai jumpa to our Bajawa buddies and board the local bus bound for Moni. Stopping for a break in Ende we head straight into a well placed warung, and enjoy our share of nasi ayam and nasi telur. Finally proper local fare at local prices! Back on the bus after lunch we continue round the bends. And it's only until the bus driver finishes his third packet of cigarettes that we finally arrive in Moni. Despite being home to Gunung Kelimutu, Flores' largest tourist draw, the town is quiet and relaxed, and makes for a good spot to put the breaks on a bit. Winding down in the afternoon, we happen across Mopi's, easily the best eatery in town and settle in with a Bintang and iced coffee. With no rush the following day, we have a slow start and eventually walk out of the town centre and follow the dusty trail through the local village and beyond. Chickens and pigs run freely about people's yards, while healthy cows happily munch away under the shade of nearby trees. Women wash their families clothes in the river, while men tinker with their motorbikes in the shade. Getting lost in our books, we are not concerned that the sun occasionally dips behind the clouds. When the sun returns, we head out again, this time in the opposite direction to a nearby waterfall. Watching the power of the water as it smashes against the black rock, we are surprised at the caretakers approach to protecting the parks natural assets; throwing rocks at children he sees sending debris into the stream. Despite heading to bed early, we are both yawning when we leave our lodgings at 3.30am. Helmets on, we fumble in the dark to start our rented scooter and are soon on our way to Kelimutu. Well ahead of all the 4am starters, we have the road to ourselves, and don't see another soul until we reach the gate. Climbing the steps to the lookout at the top, we huddle up in the wind with the other international visitors and await the sunrise. While the sun long remains hidden in the thick white cloud that surrounds the mountain, the three coloured crater lakes slowly reveal themselves, each guarded by an armor of jagged stone. Tiwu Nuwa Muri Koo Fai (Turquoise Lake) attracts the most spectators, with its crystal blue water so bright it looks as if it is illuminated from underneath. Not far away from the lakes, the slopes support a healthy and dense Casuarina forest, home to the endemic and threatened Bare-throated Whistler. Its call is as unique as the species itself, the continuous string of different melodies ringing out amongst the trees. Relaxed and finally back in the swing of the tropical slow down, we devour our books and enjoy more of Mopi's best from delicious nasi campur to a signature spin on a local icon, the Moni cake (deep fried sweet potato biscuit sandwiches)!

Walaupun begitu, warna-warna tersebut selalu berubah-ubah seiring dengan perjalanan waktu😱 . Kelimutu merupakan gabungan kata dari "Keli"yang berarti gunung dan kata "Mutu" yang berarti mendidih. Menurut kepercayaan penduduk setempat, warna-warna pada danau Kelimutu memiliki arti masing-masing dan memiliki kekuatan alam yang sangat dahsyat. . Danau kelimutu. Salah satu tempat di Indonesia, yang harus gw datengin. Alhamdulillah, september 2016 Allah kasih gw kesempatan kesini. . . Danau yang pernah menjadi icon di uang 5000 pada tahun 90an ini akhirnya pernah aku datengin juga. . . Danau ini berjumlah 3, ada di gunung kelimutu. Berlokasi di Desa Pemo, Kecamatan Kelimutu, Kabupaten Ende, Pulau Flores, Provinsi Nusa Tenggara Timur. . . Gak mudah untuk sampai di sini. Kami memulai perjalanan dari labuan bajo ke desa moni sekitar 12 jam dengan perjalanan yang sangat berliku2 di tambah hambatan ada jalan yang longsor. . . Dari moni, kami melanjutkan perjalanan ke kelimutu, dengan jarak tempuh sekitar 40km atau 1 jam perjalanan (tergantung kondisi jalan). Sampai gerbang, kita masuk ke parkiran menggunakan kendaraan sekitar 20 menit. Perjalanan belum selesai, teman! . . Dari parkiran, kita harus trekking selama satu jam di tengah hutan cemara dengan jalanan setapak yang sudah di paving. . . Keli artinya gunung, dan mutu artinya mendidih. Danau kelimutu mempunyai 3 warna yang berubah2. Menurut kepercayaan setempat, arti warna tersebut memiliki arti kekuatan alam. . . Warna biru kadang hijau lumut, berkumpulnya jiwa anak2 muda yang meninggal. Warna hitam kadamg putih, orang tua yang meninggal. Warna hijau kadang merah orang jahat yang meninggal. . . Untuk liat keindahan danau, antara danau satu ke lainnya, jalur trekkingnya beda2 dan beda arahnya. Gw cuma sanggup sampe jalur trekking liat 2 danau, ga sanggup jalannya kalo di cobain semua trekkingnya 😂😂. #kurnianoen .
