" Sister Jude, it isn't true. " she insists. Whoever had determined that she was helping to aid Kit Walker in some sort of escape from this asylum had passed the information to Sister Jude. For what reasons? To bring this to light in order to send Cordelia away? And for what? Who would benefit? She was not even able to see and yet the thought that someone might know about her visions - " I have no thoughts to aid any prisoner in escape. " even if she had hoped she could indeed find a way.

Rapunzel walked around the room, peering over the shoulder of each patient in her art therapy class.  It seemed to be quite the hit, to her surprise - but she was just as pleased!  It was one of the best ways to cure the mind, she thought.  She stopped as she approached Joe’s section, and lightly peered over his shoulder, looking at his work.  “This is brilliantly done.”

Erica wasn’t having one of her good days. It wasn’t as if anything was good in the world anyway. What was the point of anything if all there would be is pain. Always more pain. She looked up as one of the nurses entered her room and quickly curled up tighter in the corner. A small glance to her confidant placated her a little but she still wanted to be left alone.

Basic Info

Name: Joseph Irving Hardy (Joe) Age: 19 Family: Laura Hardy (mother), Fenton Hardy (father) Gertrude Hardy (aunt) and Frank Hardy (brother/deceased) Reason for Being in Briarcliff: Went on a revenge fueled killing spree that ended in the deaths of fifteen people.

Background

Joe Hardy had a pretty normal life up until he was fifteen years old. He grew up in a good steady home in a small town by the sea, with plenty of friends and good grades all through school. He and his elder brother Frank dreamed of being detectives like their father, and when they showed promise in such a career, Fenton helped train them to give them a leg up over the competition. Soon, they began assisting Fenton in some of his cases, and even solved plenty of their own.

Unfortunately, over the years the Hardy brothers earned their own reputation, and with a reputation comes enemies. During a rather terrifying case against a group calling themselves the “Assassins,” their safe house was descended upon, bullet hailing from every which direction. Joe survived, just barely, because Frank used himself as a human shield to protect his younger brother, dying in the process. The event traumatized Joe to such an extent that he suffered a mental breakdown when he heard that most of the people who attacked them had escaped police custody. Using all of his training, Joe tracked down the Assassins himself, using a bat as his main weapon of choice to bludgeon them to death, killing the last three with a gun.

While the revenge was understandable, the judge and jury were highly alarmed by how violently the men had been murdered, and thus Joe was sent to Briarcliff. Whether this place was supposed to help him or punish him, Joe wasn’t sure. All he knew for sure was that the Assassins were dead, and his brother’s ghost still haunted him, (quite literally), but at least Frank is better company than most.

Plus, Nurse Rapunzel is one of the few people in authority who is actually nice to him, and he’s responded positively to her kindness.

Sister Jude leads the church held asylum and is intent on leading its patients to God - or so they claim. With the horrors of the Asylum under cover darkness resides within its walls. Demons flock to its center, murderers are locked behind gates, aliens are possibly seeking a foot down on earth and innocent people are sent to die. All while a serial killer rages on the outside killing women and threatening the safety of everyone around.

“Doctor Mikaelson!” Lana called, running down the hallway after the man. She’d heard about him through MARY EUNICE and wanted to see if he could HELP her - prove her INNOCENCE. She was willing to do ANYTHING to get out of Briarcliff. “Can I talk to you for a few minutes? I promise I won’t WASTE your time.”

Kitchen duties were necessary and while the others were taken back to their cells she immediately told one of the guards that Kit was just fine here - he was after all under good behavior for the time being. Which meant that he hadn’t fought with any of the guards or attempted any recent escapes. Selfishly she’s thankful for that. Her fingers gingerly take up the brush with the wash coating it to slowly paint it over the dough they’ve worked on - new year’s breads is what one of the Sisters had requested. “ My mother used to say everyone should have a new year’s resolution and make it happen. “ she’s feeling around for the bowl of wash, trying to not let her frustration show and glad that he hasn’t taken the task from her yet even if there was a mess. “ I suppose yours would be getting out of this dump. “

he’s just tired of telling the same story that no one’s ever gonna believe. he feels a little weighted. like something awfully heavy is resting on his chest ready to burst. he knows better than to press. it’ll make him look more nuts. and there’s nothing in his head that’s all twisted up. he can see clearly. dr. mikaelson might not think so. he’s gonna try some insane and lofty treatment to screw his head back on right. and he doesn’t feel too good about it. when the door to the cell opens he’s opening it’s not another session with the good doctor. even if it might be his ticket - not out, maybe to stay alive. he just wants a break. “don’t have to leave just yet, do i?”

“This is quite a place, isn’t it?”  It wasn’t so much that she thought it was beautiful - though she did consider some parts of the hospital to be aesthetically pleasing.  But there was such an atmosphere to the hospital, this vibe she just couldn’t shake - it was interesting, to say the least.  “I don’t suppose you’d be able to give me a tour, would you?”

It wasn’t her first stay in a place like this, but it was by far the least comfortable.  The courts had, to Aurora’s fury, ignored her obvious justification for killing her father, and her preference for a more comfortable facility, like one of the ones she’d stayed in before, she ended up in Briarcliff.   It was a horrible injustice in Aurora’s opinion.  If she’d been able to truly explain to the court what her father was like, perhaps they might have seen things her way.  Tristan had forbidden it though.  They wouldn’t have any more scandal, he said.  And then he had promised that it would be somewhere comfortable, and more importantly that he would have her out and back home in no time if she would be patient and behave herself.  It was easier said than done, on both of their accounts.
