“The Eighth Son? “That Can’t Be Right!” Aka The 8th Son? Are You Kidding Me?  is a fun action fantasy anime like its name. The original title is “Hachinan tte, Sore wa Nai deshou!”. It is an adaptation of a manga written by Japanese manga writer Y.A. and illustrated by Fuzichoco. The Crunchyroll licensed anime was originally launched on Tokyo MX, BS11, AT-X local Japanese channels. A total of 12 episodes were broadcast between April 2, 2020 – June 18, 2020. Although the anime is not broadcast on global platforms such as Netflix, Amazon, and Hulu TV, it has managed to find viewers from all over the world. The second season of the anime prepared by Shin-Ei Animation, which has been successful in the anime industry since the 1970s, is curious. Has Crunchyroll renewed the series for a second season? When will it be released?1 What was the plotline of ‘The Eighth Son? That Can’t Be Right!’?2 Will there be a second season of the anime?2.1 Manga Status (Light Novel by Y.A.)2.2 The other factors2.3 When is the release date of the anime? What was the plotline of ‘The Eighth Son? That Can’t Be Right!’?25-year-old Shingo Ichinomiya, who works for a corporate foundation, goes to bed with the dream of a full working day tomorrow. But when he wakes up, Shingo finds himself in an unfamiliar room, realizing that he is in the body of a 6-year-old boy, who he realizes is taking control of his body with his mind. Shingo soon learns from the boy’s memories that he is the youngest son of a poor noble family living in the countryside. Lacking talent in administrative matters, he cannot do anything to manage his family’s vast territory.Fortunately, he has magic, which is a very rare skill. Unfortunately, although his talent could bring wealth to his family, in his case, it only brought disaster. The story of this boy named Wendelin Von Benno Baumeister, opening his own path in a brutal world.Although it has a story that we are used to from anime, its plot and story are considered successful. We think that in the possible second season of the series, the missing character development will focus. Will there be a second season of the anime?Neither the studio nor Crunchyroll renewed the series for a second season. There is no notice of cancellation yet as well. But is there any chance that the series will be renewed? We will evaluate whether the series will have a second season with some parameters. The most important of these are manga status and popularity.Manga Status (Light Novel by Y.A.)As we mentioned before, the series is an adaptation of Light Novel. The light novel written by Y.A started to be published in April 2014. The good news is that it continues today. A total of 20 volumes have been published for the light novel. The latest volume was released in July 2020. Manga Compared to Anime: Anime covers only five volumes of Manga. It stopped in the middle of fifth volume. This means that there is enough source material for a second season or more. The other factorsAlthough the manga provides enough resources for a second season, the popularity of the series affects the odds of the second season. From this point of view, unfortunately, the series did not achieve the desired success. User comments on social media also say that the series is similar to many anime and does not offer anything different. The animation studio was last able to continue for a second season for the anime “Teasing Master Takagi-san” in 2018. Kâito jôkâ, one of the Crunchyroll licensed anime, started to be published in 2014 and continued its broadcast life for more than a season. But The 8th Son? Are You Kidding Me? won’t be like that. The ratings of the anime are meager, and they have a below-average score on IMDb and Myanimelist. The anime studio has already made some new anime plans for 2021, but “The 8th Son? Are You Kidding Me?” the second season is not seen in these plans. Next plans of the anime studios:Idolls! (2021)Mashiro no Oto (2021)When is the release date of the anime? When all the possibilities are evaluated, it is seen that although the manga offers sufficient resources, the popularity of the series is below average, and the studio has generally made single-season series in its previous works. It is very unlikely that the series will have a second season. But if Crunchyroll surprises and refreshes the series for a second season, we could see the series’ new season in mid-2021.

Spring 2020 - What am I watching? 1/2
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
We’re already half way through this season ^^ hope everyone is doing fine and enjoying some good animes.
This season I ended up watching to many animes again, but apparently that something I don’t notice until I realized how many I’ve on my agenda 笑〜 so what have my attention this spring? (In the pictures order)
1. Appare-Ranman! So far it’s really interesting what I enjoy the most is put main characters personality specially when his facial expressions change + the unique plot. (Episodes so far 3/?)
2. Arte, such a soft and heartwarming story full of feminine power. I love her and her willingness to achieve her goal + i enjoy painting so watching what they do is really pleasant. (Episodes so far 5/12)
3. Gleipnir, oh this one is definitely out of the ordinary, it’s really weird but it’s gets your curiosity, may turn out even better than what I thought. (Episodes so far 5/?)
4. Hachi-nantte, Sore ha nai deshou! Because the isekai with the overly power main character it’s never missed, your typical isekai you may say, it’s fun specially in the first episodes. (Episodes so far 5/12)
5. Honzuki no Gekokujou S2, well another isekai but different, since I say first season and really enjoyed Myne development I definitely wanted to see her grown and what other difficulties she’s going to face. (Episodes so far 5/12)
6. Shin Sakura Taisen: The Animation, to enjoy this one if you watched the original anime you need to play the game, because is like a sequeal and you get easily lost. I love Sakura Taisen I guess I just watch this because of that, it’s full CGI and I still can enjoy that. (Episodes so far 5/?)
7. Tamayomi! cute baseball anime, I love baseball and I really enjoyed playing it in school, plus its good to see a female team and a good character development and interaction. (Episodes so far 5/12)
8. Yesterday wo Uttate, a modern coming of age story, our main characters face the struggles of trying to find direction in our lifes. I believe everyone can feel something with this story + the development of characters is great, but it’s a really mature story not for every taste. (Episodes so far 5/18)
Fully review at the end of the season ^^

Hachi-nantte, Sore was Naideshou! - Review
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The typical isekai that is always part of my seasonal watch list, really more of the same, with a total of 12, here we have Hachi-nantte!
About: 25 year old Shingo Ichinomiya found himself in a 6 year old body named Wendelin Von Benno Bauchmeister, the eight son of a really poor noble family. Retaining some of his memories he realized that he have to do something different to change his financial and social status, since he won’t get anything from being the eight son. Well as expected he finds he has a great magical aptitude and got trained by the best.
Thoughts: I really really enjoyed the firsts episodes, it felt quite different and it was really funny, I enjoy Wendelin as kid so much, but after he start growing and his magical training was over, it bacame the average isaki, he is the best, everyone wants to be in his party, party members aren’t that strong but still will do anything for him and the average love interest that it always have to be a saint with healing magic. He becomes really rich and uninterested in having his family assets. Animation was good though, music okay, just more of the same. My final score is 6/10
