Goodbye Hachiro

Definitely felt a pang of feelings as she rolled onto the trailer and off into the distance.  I'm at peace knowing that her new owner will complete the project I couldn't, and that at long last I can give my heart fully to Carolyn, but suddenly, staring into her eyes as she left, all the sweat, blood, and tears I've poured into Hachiro for the last 7 months suddenly welled up and for that moment my heart felt heavy.

It was a long hard lesson learned, but I came out of it with a pocket full of money, a ton of experience, a set of watanabes rolling on azenis, a manual steering rack, and a reinforced love for the little red SR5 that taught me the meaning of that complex emotion.  Thank you Hachiro; may the touge be kind to you.  'til we meet again.

finally got my manual rack put together and bolted in.  Gotta adjust my intermediate shaft and connect the outer tie rods still, then do alignment.  After that I'll finally be able to get her moved to the shop where the 4AG[T]E can be installed :D

And for the non-automotive buffs out there, yes, megasquirt is exactly as pornographic as it sounds, but for cars.

thinkin' of throwing this grille on hachiro since I gotta make custom mounting brackets for the zenki bumper anyway.  Thoughts?

Gotta straighten it out still and punch some holes for the turbo to breathe through, but I like how the red hood looks on this car :D

Engine bay's shiny as fuck, prepped up for the GZE.  I'll bring over the Nikon on Monday and see if I can get a pic to show how insanely clean I got the crossmember.  Used enough simple green that it's probably no longer environmentally friendly.

My day was FUCKING AWESOME

Swapped the intermediate shaft on 鉢炉さん in preparation for the new manual steering rack.  As you can see, this involved cranking and yanking and spanking and FIRE!!
