It really does and when I dig deeper, I see that I have to set boundaries with others while the cement is wet. I have to ensure that my expectations are set before the cement hardens and ultimately both my feet are stuck in one place.

I've never operated from a place of healing. This is the first time in almost 30 years---as of this year-- that I'll actually be living outside complete nervous system dysregulation. I've been surviving my whole life in fight, flight, freeze or fawn.
