[ I do not talk enough about the fact that aligned ratch came from a village in canon which is like the only bg info i had to develop from and at this point that development includes:

rescue had no idea what a shanix was when he first arrived in iacon because his small society traded items/creations or worked together for others benefit if they needed repairs for themselves/their home/an object

rescue has an accent that is not an iaconian dialect despite spending so long in iacon, although only a bit of it shows in English with certain sounds, such as some of his Hs ( yes i am aware that is just how jeff.rey combs talks but SHH )

most have no idea what the HECK ratch’s accent is though because, again, unknown village, in the wilderness... rly have to be a language nerd to recognize it based on the general region

there was an extremely mixed bag of sentiments toward him among others while he was an apprentice because it was basically equivalent to ‘country bot goes to city’ but surprise he’s brilliant and already knows a lot actually (enough that he ends up showing up ppl who’ve been here longer) despite his cultural ignorance rarely giving the best first impression

ratch had a genuinely difficult time adjusting to an overwhelmingly large and active city and was extremely slow to actually explore beyond learning how to get to places of interest specifically or those recommended to him

he is STILL not the fondest of serious heights or super crowded spaces, but he deals with it because if he has reasons and priorities they are more important (if he does not have good reasons tho he will leave you cannot keep him here HE WILL DEPART AT THE FIRST OPPORTUNITY)

oh I named the village Domus because obviously it should have a name if someone asked him

this is deranged but whatever im losing it so here's the Goncharov ending scene (incoherent summary edition):

Goncharov (played by DeNiro) and Ambrosini (played by Al Pacino) have been hiding out in a tiny old hotel room for days. empty bottles, crumpled and strewn papers and zigarette buds everywhere. they have been joined by two of Ambrosinis friends, and have at this point been frantically trying to figure out a plan about how to get out of the mess they got themselves into alive. they're in the middle of discussing their ideas for a plan as the score cuts out and Ambrosini suddenly looks up in terror and shushes the others. "shh be quiet...do you hear that?" the faint ticking of a clock starts appearing in the background "hear what?" we start hearing sounds of steps now overlaid perfectly over the ticking sound, the image cuts to a closeup of a ticking grandfather clock, the steps we hear matching the movement of the clock hands. "shh just listen....the steps.." cut to a closeup of someone wearing expensive shoes walking down the hotel corridor (we only see the shoes and bottom of the legs) Ambrosini

grows more anxious "the steps...dont you hear them?" closeup of the clock again. the ticking and steps grow louder. one of the friends: "i don' hear anythin'" , Goncharev, now growing concerned too: "Mario whats going on, you-" quick cut between the shoes and ambrosini's face thats quickly growing more terrified: "the steps!! dont you hear them??" multiple quick cuts between the clock face and the shoes, the sounds growing louder , "...like the..like the ticking of a watch..dont you hear it?" (he grows frantic) "*tick tock tick tock* " as he says the tick and tock we see the shoes again stepping perfectly in sync, with a loud ticking noise overlaid. "what's he talkin about??" "i think the stress's done 'im in, he's gone nuts" the friends in the bg, but we focus on Goncharev's face growing concerned and angry, (since its the only way he knows how to express his emotions) " Mario stop with that tick tock bullshit whats going on what do you hear?" closeup of Ambrosinis eyes , reflecting a nonexistent watch in Ambrosini's eyes, the same one we saw changing hands being gifted to different friends of the don multiple times in the movie .

"the steps, Goncharov!! THE STEPS!!" (he starts grabbing his shoulders)

"Whose steps???" (he grabs Ambrosinis shoulders back and starts shaking him while yelling)

"HIS" the ticking and steps grow uncomfortably loud. "HIS?? *HIS*??? WHO IS HE ??" Goncharev shakes a sweaty and almost delirious Ambrosini. all background noise suddenly dies out. "the inevitable" Ambrosini whispers, eyes wide witb terror. Goncharev has stopped shaking him but still grabs him, white knuckled, his face growing pale, but he cannot let go of the other man. the other friends are equally shocked , they dont know what this means, but cant dare say anything. a few short moments of this silence and standing still. then, the doorknob of the hotel room theyve been hiding in being shot out as the clock strikes twelve . he is here.

we never see the man's face (if it even is a man - it might have been ...Katya ?). instead, we only see. a gloved hand, pointing the gun. shooting Ambrosini.

and maybe the other two friends as they try to flee , but theyre in the background. as the camera holds on Goncharov holding a bleeding dying Ambrosini in his arms , cutting from closeups of each of their eyes to the other.

see its ultimately not about *who* shot Ambrosini, its just about the inevitability of death. he has lived too fast and risky, trying to get tied up in the criminal life he should never have gotten tied up in, and about Goncharev realising that all of this , all the deaths, couldve been prevented had he been less stubborn, had he overcome his trust and emotional issues. but now it's too late. and this is ofc all to say we'll never know if he actually learned his lesson or if he will continue as before, doomed to ruin himself and everyone he meets. or if he even got killed too? since this is the last scene of the movie 😔 as the camera zooms out into the ceiling above him as hes holding Ambrosini like the Pieta. and the score that played during Goncharev's childhood scene plays again, except now interspersed with the themes of the people he met, adding into it in order of their appearance until ultimately we realize the movie's main theme - Goncharev's theme - had been an amalgamation of all these themes all along.

00:00 - I love that the recent comebacks have had That Sound at the beginning. Not the same sound but a distinct sound that the moment the song starts you just KNOW. They are sounds i love to imitate tbh

00:08 - okay idk why but the crescendo of the synth/strings (i dont know music words, bare with me for this) it’s so pretty and very well represents how i gradually get more excited as the song starts ( ilove this song). also i’ve watched so may stages that now my mind just immediately starts the fanchant

katypery: i discovered kpop back in 2010 when a friend of mine introduced me to snsd's genie. snsd was the first ever kpop group i followed and i've been a sone for a long time! my first bias was jessica and she never lost her place in my heart.

sunjis: i discovered kpop through my friend who used to sing bits of diva by after school and lollipop by 2ne1 & bigbang near me, once she showed me a video with 'diva' playing on the background. i got interested and asked the name of the singer, she told me and i googled it! so the first female group i listened to was after school. my first female bias group was 2ne1, my favs were minzy and cl at the time!

sooyulti: i was watching videos related to gangnam style back in 2012 and somehow i ended up watching f(x)’s electric shock mv but only in 2013 when they had their comeback with rum pum pum pum that i started to follow them. luna was my first bias 🥰

wonhosoks: I dont remember how i discovered kpop but i know the first group i listened to was 2ne1 !!! then i got into bg first ~mblaq~ 😭 then got into gg and my first fave gg is probably secret and bias was hyosung 😭

loveinstereo: i discovered kpop through a friend! the first female artists i listened to were f(x), orange caramel, and 2ne1 and my first female bias was f(x)'s krystal :-)

seuhgi: so back in 2009/10 i was part of a forum about anime and jmusic and once, they gave a download link to a file full of several translated jpop/jrock mvs. i downloaded it out of curiosity and turned out there was shinee's ring ding dong in it HAHA and that's how i discovered kpop after this i wanted to know more about kpop because i kept listening to ring ding dong and i found out about t-ara! and i literally fell in love with all their songs. so my first ever girlgroup bias was soyeon from t-ara. and then boom i discovered everything about kpop :)

prkchaeyoung: i discovered kpop back in 2011 through tvxq so they were my first kpop group! i was a casual fan of t-ara, f(x) and 9muses back in those days but i didn’t stan any ggs until rv debuted in 2014 :)

monoka: The first group i listened to is snsd but i don't exactly remember how i got into kpop anymore.

boratanical: i knew of it way back in 2008/2009 through my cousin when ukiss, super junior, and 2pm were very popular but i didnt really get into it until maybe 2015 when i saw exo's overdose and 9muses' doll! i think i didnt get really into ggs until 2016 and rv was my first bias group!

dazzlingkai: I was looking up an OST from a drama I was watching at the time. The artist of that OST was an idol, so I kept getting recommendations of that person and other kpop groups. That’s how I discovered kpop. My first female bias is Hyuna, and she’s still my ultimate female bias till this day💖

powerfulhoshi: The very first time I heard about kpop was around 2012, a at-the-time mcfly fanfic writer mention SuJu on a blog post/video, I think, and for a long time I still remembered the mention to "kpop bias". The last I heard she worked with something kpop related as well as published books now. The first female idol I listened to was either Mamamoo, my best friend is/was really into them when she got me into kpop or something else... I'm not sure how the timeline panned out, but I do know the first girl group I recalled searching on youtube on my own free will was Twice's TT, I first saw the video on a league of legends korean pro twitch stream and a few days later I was hooked, but I have no idea when that happened and what other song I should be able to recognize from his streams. okay renjun is definitely very meticulous. detail-oriented, if you will

he’s a bit shy, but the majority of him is just careful

renjun has a personality of wanting the moment to be perfect, wanting everything to be perfect

bc to him perfect is special. perfect is something that can’t be done twice. perfect is something you’ll remember

so yeah, he’s wanted to kiss you

he’s wanted to kiss you since before you both started dating honestly, but he just can’t find a timing perfect enough

he is afraid of kissing, since it’s his first kiss, and he’s read all the horror stories about first kisses being sloppy, or worse, so bad that the couple breaks up

sometimes fantasizes about kissing you, especially when he sees you wearing lipstick

in my mind renjun has a slight fascination for lipstick

but he can’t bring himself to do it bc the timing isn’t right

and he’s afraid

oh my goodness i will actually combust i bet renjun is the softest kisser in the world

he’s so gentle and soft and careful

i think every kiss with him would be special, and it would make you feel extraordinarily important

he doesn’t quite like casual kisses

he’ll see jaemin constantly pecking his s/o’s lips, or jeno always cuddling with the one he likes, but renjun doesn’t really work that way

pda to him is more of a private, intimate thing

and so neither of you really do much but hold hands when you’re in public

but oh my goodness making out with renjun would be such an experience

I FEEL YOUR SHAMAN PAIN! I typically hide in DPS (even though my tank spec artifact is concord'd). I started to level a heal character but the fear is real, espec as I don't have a group of people i can practice with... I don't like disappointing randoms LMAO

my thing is like….. on my druid, she’s resto, i heal dungeons and lfr on her ALL THE TIME, im gonna jump into tos lfr tomorrow with no remorse. like y’all remember ye olde days of bearcat? i said fuck that noise now is the time of TREEBEAR and i will literally pull and tank trash (and the occasional boss if the tank bores me/is afk). there is no such thing as fear on her. only leaves.

yesterday and a couple days ago i spent hours healing (and often topping!) in bgs on my holy priest (whom admittedly im still leveling but you get the point)

on my paladin, my second 110, i do lfg & lfr often enough, im pretty okay at it, with a little more persistence i think i’d be pretty good even. her artifact is concord’d and not just bc i wanted the pony shh

but i just don’t get resto shaman. like first off i’ve had cho since tbc. she was the first ally character i ever made, but i didn’t even really play her much until wod?? barely?? but i really like healing this expac so i thought ‘ooh that’ll be fun!’ but i keep forgetting my totems, and probably a bunch of other utility buttons i have, save like, heroism lmao

as for playing your healer (bc i have no advice on tanks that i refuse to do lol) uhh 1) if you’re on NA servers message me off anon and i’ll add you and we can totally help you practice (and depending on the spec i might be able to give advice?) and 2) my method of getting good at healing is this: do bgs. no joke i had no idea what rio’s (my priest’s) buttons were but i went in and now im ready. its how i learned resto druid too. which ofc means i should follow my own advice and do that on cho but. after i get rio to 110 lol
