Posting about my experience.

I grew up believing that being queer was wrong. It was ingrained in me from a young age. I experienced abuse, and I internalized that, that if I dared to be gay or express any inkling of it, I would be shunned by my father, my peers. I built up this wall around me, this idea that being gay was wrong, and it's taken a lot to break down that wall, to even come to terms with things.

And for a long time, I struggled with even the idea of loving someone of the same sex. It made me uneasy, made me question myself, made me feel like I was betraying everything I had been taught. But recently, I've found solace in someone. He's helped me see that love is love, that it doesn't matter who you love, as long as you love them wholeheartedly.

It's a struggle, a constant battle within myself. I'm still very much uneasy about loving someone of the same sex, still pushing away from that part of me that wants to embrace it. It's like there's this voice inside me, telling me that it's wrong, that I'm a bad man for even thinking about it. I can't seem to switch that voice off. But I'm trying, I am, I'm trying to open up, to confront these feelings head-on

I know it won't be easy, that it'll take time. But the fact that I'm even trying shows that I want to change, that I'm willing to face my demons head-on. I want to be happy, to find that connection with someone, regardless of their gender. I want to be able to love and be loved, not just to survive, but to truly live.

It's a process, but it's a process I'm determined to see through.
