Playing the cafe playlist, Hanbin works cheerfully, humming along as he arranges the freshly baked pastries on the shelves. Jibeom emerges from the back and notices Hanbin's broad smile. He sneakily inches closer to him, but Hanbin catches him in the act, causing Jibeom to freeze, looking almost guilty.

"Jibeom, what are you doing?" Hanbin inquires.

"What are you doing?" Jibeom deflects the question, leaving Hanbin puzzled.

"What do you mean?"

Jibeom slowly gets closer, making Hanbin chuckle. “Tell me what’s up with your smile.”

“Huh?”

“Let me reword it. I mean, why the big smile today? Got a crush or something?"

Hanbin's face reddens a little at the tease. "No, nothing like that. I'm just feeling good today. Is it wrong to be happy?"

Jibeom laughs, "Of course not! I was just curious." He goes to grab some trays to help Hanbin with the display.

Hanbin watches Jibeom's retreating back, a soft smile playing on his lips. There was one reason behind his good mood: that extra sprinkle of happiness that you always brought into this month.

When Jibeom comes back to also start putting things onto the shelves with Hanbin, he can’t stop the curiosity getting to him. “Okay but seriously, why are you smiling?”

“It’s nothing!”

“That’s the biggest lie I’ve ever heard in my life,” Jibeom teased, gazing into Hanbin's eyes again. "Go on, spill it."

"Um, well, the thing is, I'm thrilled because it's December."

"Just because of that?"

"Yeah, it's when the girl comes to our café," Hanbin elaborated, his grin growing wider. “Hot choco girl.” Jibeom appeared confused, more concerned – what had his friend gotten himself into?

"Hot chocolate girl? Who on earth is that?" Jibeom inquired, driven by curiosity.

"A girl who comes in for hot chocolate…?" Hanbin remarked, glancing at Jibeom, who sported a bored expression.

"Even a toddler would be aware of that," Jibeom shook his head, lightly tapping Hanbin with the tray. "Who is this customer? I can't recall our regulars, to be completely honest."

“You’ll see who she is later,” Hanbin said, moving away quickly from Jibeom. He rolled his eyes, quickly following him behind, “Hey! You can’t just say that!”

The minutes turned into hours, and Hanbin remained fixated on the entrance, eagerly anticipating the arrival of the person he longed to see. Each time someone entered who wasn't the one, a hint of disappointment flickered across his face, though he clung to a glimmer of hope.

Jibeom, as always, notices his friend constantly drifting his attention to the doors, once again sneaking up on his friend. “She’s not here yet?” He scared Hanbin a bit, making him calm his racing heart. “You really need to stop sneaking up on me like this.”

“Sorry!” Jibeom chuckled, and looked at the entrance. “Hey, is it her?” Hanbin immediately whipped his head around, not being able to contain his smile. “Yeah. That’s hot choco girl.”

Jibeom could tell Hanbin had hearts coming out of his eyes, not being able to keep his eyes off of you. “You’re down bad.” Hanbin rolled his eyes, playfully pushing Jibeom away, “Yeah, yeah–whatever! Just go!”

With a swift adjustment, Hanbin flashed his widest smile as he headed towards the register. His gaze met yours, and you returned the same smile.

"Back again?" he asked.

"Yeah—oh, you remember me?" You responded, a touch flustered, rubbing your hands together to warm them up.

"I tend to remember a few faces around here and there," Hanbin replied, not entirely dishonest; he couldn't recall everyone, but he certainly remembered you.

"I see," you chuckled, ready to place your order when Hanbin interjected once more.

"Hot chocolate with extra whipped cream?" Hanbin was already punching in the order, exchanging a soft smile with you. Your eyes widened, curiosity sparking within you.

"Oh – I just remember because you only order this during this month," Hanbin explained, his response seeming quite reasonable. After all, what barista wouldn’t recognize their regular customers?

"You're quite attentive," you remarked, reaching into your bag for your wallet. "Do you need my name too, or do you already have that in your head?"

Hanbin's face slightly flushed, he accepted your card without saying a word. Dodging your question, he remarked, "Your order will be ready in a bit," as he busied himself. You chuckled, retrieving your card. "Thank you."

Exactly five minutes later, Hanbin finished preparing the drink, securing the lid tightly. He took a black sharpie, jotting something down that brought a smile to his face. "Order for YN," he called out, noticing you hastening over to collect the drink. You expressed your gratitude, taking the hot cup. Before taking a sip, you glanced at the cup once more, noticing "For: Hot Choco Girl — XXX-XXX-XXXX" written on it.

He really just gave you his phone number.

When you looked up, you found Hanbin, completely flustered and unable to maintain eye contact. The thought of him finally making a move made him feel excitement, but also anxiousness.

Feeling a mix of surprise and amusement, you took a sip of your hot chocolate, the warmth spreading through you. Before leaving the shop, you caught Hanbin's eyes once more, noticing his still evident embarrassment.

"Thank you," you said with a playful smile, lifting the cup slightly.

Walking away, you turned back and grinned. "I'll have to call you about this later, Hanbin," you teased, noting his bashful expression. With that, you headed out, leaving Hanbin behind, visibly flustered and fidgety behind the counter.

As you left the shop, Hanbin found himself placing a hand over his chest, sensing his rapid heartbeat. It wasn't the familiar cold sensation during this time, but rather a rush of warmth, a nice and comforting feeling spreading within him.

Well, he guesses that's what "hot choco girl" does to him.

it was pitch-dark when hanbin walked through the door of your apartment, shedding his shoes with lightning speed before camouflaging himself in your arms. his face plunged into your neck, while your hand instantly found the nape of his neck, undertaking to caress his skin delicately. your second hand reached up to his back, moving up and down in a comforting gesture — and him seemed to relax somewhat under your fingertips. a long sigh left his lips and a shiver ran down your spine as his breath tickled the sensitive skin of your collarbones. hoping he hadn't noticed, you laid your cheek against his head, whispering not far from his ear, « let's make ourselves comfortable on the couch, okay? »

hanbin nodded and moved slightly away from you, but never letting you see his face. he looked so desperate — so you slipped your hand into his, your fingertips simply holding his while guiding him into your living room. settling yourself on the sofa, you guided your best friend to slide against you, between your legs, his chest pressed against yours. little do you know, he put his ear to your chest to be able to hear your heartbeat. his arms slipped around you, while one of your hands was lost in his brown locks. « so.. what happened? » you finally ask, a little curious to see him so dejected after a date that seemed very important to him in the first place.

let's get this story started : you've known hanbin for as long as you can remember, and you've never been apart since. only small downside : you fell deeply in love with him in high school, while he stayed in the friend side. you don't really know if he's ever seen you as a potential future love interest, but if he had, he'd always hidden it extremely well. deep down, a little piece of your heart was broken to see him trying dating someone other than you, but you felt lucky to have a boy like him always by your side. he was such a caring, well-mannered, helpful, adorable, gallant, attentive boy.. it was hard not to get butterflies in your stomach when you rubbed shoulders with such a living green flag. then yes, your feelings for him hadn't changed a bit, but you'd much rather keep him around as a friend than not have him at all.

so today, lying in your living room's sofa with him glued to you, you were ready to listen and learn why this date seemed to have gone so badly. « in the beginning, everything was fine, » he started, but you couldn't help drowning in his honeyed voice, « i took her to that restaurant i told you about, then we went for a walk in a pretty park where there was some good music, everything was going really well, i hold her hand and we talked about everything for a long time. »

how you wished you were in that girl's shoes — of course, you had already spent similar evenings with hanbin, but she had something you didn't : hanbin's love interest in her. nodding even though you knew he couldn't see you, your second hand reached up to the curve of his jaw, tracing it with the tip of your index finger. then hanbin resumed his story, « but suddenly, she wanted us to sit on a bench and have a serious conversation. »

« i was a little worried but kind of happy because i told myself she wanted us to put a word in about our relationship.. » his voice seemed to change completely, shifting from his naturally warm voice to a more defeatist tone — and you didn't like it. « what did she tell you? » you asked, frowning. your hand tenderly stroked his cheek, tilting your head to the side to try and catch a glimpse of hanbin's face. but the only thing you could see was the tip of his slightly reddened nose.

« she said she was sorry, » he declared with an umpteenth sigh, his words choking on his breath, « but that she didn't think we could go on together. »

you could feel his grip around you tighten, and his fingers mechanically grasp the sweatshirt you were wearing (which was his, by the way). and before you can retort, he continued his story with words you never thought you'd hear in your life, « because she thought i was too perfect. »

you felt like you'd just tumbled down the stairs of a 7-storey building. too perfect? that was the dumbest excuse you've ever heard. you thought you were dreaming, that it was just a bad joke on his part, but the silence that followed proved that this was the unvarnished truth. a nervous laugh left your lips, still stunned by such a senseless revelation — « you must be kidding me, right? » you finally say, your hand ceasing all movement in his hair and the tone of your voice slightly more annoyed than expected.

but hanbin nodded negatively, rising higher above you to hide his face in the hollow of your neck. his lips resting innocently on your skin sent another uncontrollable shiver through your body, and you prayed inwardly that he wouldn't feel the crescendo rhythm of your heartbeat. biting your lip to stop you swearing at that stupid girl, hanbin's voice again invaded your personal space, stoking the rage boiling in your blood.

« unfortunately, no. she was dead serious, » he whispered, his breath escaping over your shoulder, hovering over your left collarbone, « she explained that she was afraid she'd soon tire of me if i was always so helpful and attentive. »

you still couldn't believe your ears. hanbin had all the criteria of the perfect boyfriend, and that's what made him so attractive and irresistible. he was a gentleman, who took care of everything around him, always looking out for everyone but himself. he remembered the smallest details about each person he liked, he knew his friends and family's tastes and colors like the back of his hand, he had that reassuring voice that lulls you to sleep at night and comforts you during the day, he had this warm, protective hand capable of erasing every insecurity. but above all, he had that perfect bright smile that could make anyone happy at a glance.

obviously, you didn't think that way just because he shook your every feeling, every second of your life. but you were simply stating the facts after years of being friend with him. hanbin was everything that was pure, healthy and desired in a relationship. but this girl was too stupid to realize what a gem she'd just let slip through her fingers.

and it pissed you off.

« sung hanbin, look at me. » you say suddenly. when he barely had time to leave the warmth of your neck, your two hands cupped his face, holding his face in place in front of yours. he was so close you could feel his breath brush your lips, but you had to stay focused and find the right words to reassure his lost heart and question-ridden mind.

but how could you stay focused when the love of your life was this close to you, and looked so stunning despite his glassy eyes?

you couldn't speak for a long three minutes, your gaze wandering over every detail of his skin that you had already memorized. every curve, every mole, every feature of his face was flawless. your thumb unconsciously moved across his cheek, causing him to juggle his gaze from one eye to another — thanks to this, you could see the hazel glow of his pupils. « who could refuse anything to such a pretty face..? » you murmured in an inaudible sigh, only to yourself — unaware that your words had reached hanbin's ears innocently. deep down, you sincerely hoped that your words were just a figment of your imagination, without suspecting for a second the gentle warmth that was seeping into the heart of the boy in front of you right after. your heart stopped beating for a microsecond, when your eyes gazed innocently into his, and you lost all sense of time.

it was as if everything had frozen, and the only thing able to move was him and you, and your two beating hearts. you knew he was patiently awaiting your next words, but the latter were stuck in the back of your throat, as if an invisible force were trying to silence you forever. you finally open your mouth, attempting some sort of speech — but suddenly the butterflies in your body lodged themselves in your mind and made you forget all about the lexical field of comfort. all you could think about was him, the perfect curve of his lips and the hazel glint in his pretty doe eyes.

you fought your inner demons to keep the uncontrollable effect he had on you under wraps, not wanting to risk taking a single wrong step. biting your lower lip, you finally decided to try and regain your composure, because despite the mad desire to let your feelings invade space and time, your current role was to comfort your best friend who thought there was something wrong with the perfect person he was.

« don't dare think even a hint of negativity about you, » you began, softly, in a whisper so as not to let the tremor in your voice be heard, « you're the best person i've ever known in this world, and i don't say that because you're the most important person to me, but because it's the only true truth. »

« your parents made you the most perfect being in this universe, there's nothing wrong with your personality. » hanbin seemed immersed in your words, as if they were all that mattered right now, and you could feel his skin warming slightly under your fingers placed delicately on his cheeks. « that random girl don't want to be with you because you're too perfect? it's okay, someone else will love you fully instead. »

« you're still young, you have your whole life ahead of you, » your eyes gazed into his, as if you were trying to overcome and fight every bad thought stuck in hanbin's mind right now, « you'll end up finding the person who'll fall in love with you, and won't be afraid to love every green flag that makes up your personality. »

hanbin felt his heart explode in his chest, as he concentrated not only on your every word, but also your heart pounding next to his. he couldn't speak, he didn't know what to say — it was as if you'd invaded his thoughts and stolen his words. he'd forgotten about the crappy date he'd had a few hours earlier, and was trying to convince himself that telling you now that you were everything he wanted, was a bad idea.

but that bright gleam in your eyes made him realize that it was you who ran through his mind every day and night, over and over again. it may have been a cliché, but his heart felt fulfilled only in your presence. you soothed his every woe without realizing it, helping him to always look on the bright side of life, you were synonymous with stability, happiness and reassurance for him.

his grip around your waist tightened, unconsciously, without your noticing. you just let him do as he pleased, your hands still clinging tenderly to his face. you looked deep into his eyes, looking for the slightest sign of any negative thought still present — but he seemed lost in the sincerity of your eyes to think of anything else.

« you are such a perfect little arrangement of atoms. » — he could hear the smile on your lips as the words left your mouth, as his pupils juggled from one eye to the other once again. it was probably the nicest thing he'd heard in a long time, and the simple fact that it came from you filled him with joy. trying as you might to lean a little closer to him, you placed a light kiss on the top of his cheekbone. it was like an angel's kiss, soft and light, but as warm as a ray of sunshine, filled with a cloud of kindness and love beyond compare — hanbin could feel the tips of his ears heating up furiously at the same time his heart began to accelerate in his chest.

« you deserve someone who loves every little things about you. » while you simply tried to reassure him, remaining focused on his perfect face that almost made your head spin, hanbin again seemed lost in thought. you unhooked one of your hands from his cheeks to put the messy strands of his hair back in place, paying no attention to the deviation of his gaze from your attentive beloved eyes, to your rosy lips painted with a smile. hanbin thought he was going crazy, thinking about kissing you at a time like this — but he couldn't help thinking that in the end, disappointment after disappointment, the only person he still had left was you. and everything seemed so obvious suddenly : his feelings, the effect of your hands on his skin, the sound of your laughter that turned his heart upside down, your comforting voice that he wanted to hear every night before going to sleep. all this time, the only person he really loved and wanted was you.

but the constant fear of losing you and spoiling what was already there between you two, crackled unceasingly in his mind. what idiocy, he thought, knowing that despite everything, he couldn't live without you. you were his ride or die, you'd been with him every step of the way, and this was certainly not the end of your beautiful story. that the story continues as a passionate love story to make romance novels green with envy, or as an unconditional friendship that will never fade, you'll end up by his side until your last breath.

as he found your eyes again with his own, he observed them for a long time without saying anything. trying to remain calm despite the distressing perfection of his face close to yours, you let go of the lock of hair caught between your fingers to find his cheek again. but before you could put it back in place, it was captured by the boy's, who slowly interlaced your fingers with his own. you didn't know what to do, you panicked slightly inside : it wasn't the first time he'd held your hand, nor the first time he'd looked at you that way, but it was the first time his gesture had seemed so natural.

you could feel his heartbeat beating in unison with yours against your chest, and his thumb, which began to caress your skin, didn't help to calm your desilusory ideas. « i need someone like you. » he said suddenly, with a sigh, like a secret that only you had the right to hear. but it wasn't enough, it wasn't what you wanted to hear : you wanted him to want only you.

then you drew your face to his, slowly, and tenderly, you placed a kiss on the corner of his lips. an innocent kiss, as light as a cloud, so sweet he seemed to dream — but it was real, and now he knew. he knew that only you could love every part of him, every fiber of his body, every feature of his personality. you were the only one who could fulfill him, make him happy, make him in love, hopelessly in love.

« i don't want you to need me, » you replied, a kind, almost sad smile creeping across your lips, « i want you to love me. » — but that's all it took for hanbin react, and realize that he had to prove his words. and his love for you.

so even though his evening had begun with a monumental fiasco of a date he didn't even want in the first place, he decided to end his night by proving to you, in a princely kiss, that all the love crackling in his heart was destined to you.

you couldn't describe how you felt when his lips mingled with yours — it was far too powerful to explain in words. you'd been dreaming for years of being able to try out kissing the person you considered your soulmate, tasting the taste of their love, feel his heart resonate in yours, the warmth of his touch burn your skin with a delicate heat. it was just as you had imagined : as precious as a diamond, as pleasant as a gift, as melting as chocolate, as soft as cotton, accompanied by a powerful love that surpassed all your imagination. your heart could have stopped at any moment, its beat ready to explode in your chest — he had found that one heart that would beat at its side for many years to come. and you'd just found the perfect arrangement of atoms that could invade yours without restraint.

after a few passionate kisses, a few words of love and a few overwhelming proof, you once again found yourself lost in the warm sincerity of hanbin's eyes and the undeniable beauty of his tender smile. in the end, you had finally tasted the exquisite pleasure of winning the benevolent heart of the boy for whom you could give everything — and the reward for your legendary patience was considerable. hanbin was yours, completely yours now.

you were always a pen-and-paper person.

you didn't like typing down reminders or to-do lists, you preferred writing them down. there was just something so special about writing to you. probably the way you'd have to shake your pen occasionally because you ran out of ink. or the satisfaction you gain when you scratch out a completed task.

which is probably why you're standing in front of sung hanbin's locker, holding a carefully sealed envelope, decorated with hearts and small stickers you found stuffed deep in your desk drawers.

sung hanbin was truly not real, you thought. there was no way that man was real. he was just too good to be true. the adorable smile, the way he helps everyone around him, how he never got mad, how generous, smart, and nice he is. not to mention, he is incredibly handsome as well. it's no joke, everyone was in love with him. which is one reason you were always too scared to ever confess.

but if there was one thing you were confident in, it was your writing. you figured, since you can't form proper sentences in front of him, why not pen down your thoughts in the form of a letter instead? and that's exactly what you did.

you made sure no one was watching you and slipped the envelope into his locker. you breathed a sigh of relief and made you way to your next class.

after you were gone, hanbin made his way to his locker after basketball practice. he opened it and was startled to see a blue-colored envelope fall out. he grabbed it off the floor and opened it. he thought it might have been mistakenly placed in his locker, but instead was surprised when he read the first two words.

it was addressed to him after all. although he was tired and sweaty from practice, he was curious. he continued reading the letter.

my heart is racing with a mixture of excitement and nervousness, there are so many words i've been wanting to say to you for years, and i finally have the chance.

from the moment i met you in middle school, when you lent me your pencil because i forgot mine, i've liked you. who knows, maybe its love?

your smile lights up my darkest days, and you have never once failed to make me laugh. every interaction, no matter how small or big, is etched into my memory, replaying over and over again like a broken record. i've admired your kindness, your intelligence, and the way you effortlessly make everyone around you feel at ease.

i want you to know that my feelings for you have not faded with time, if anything, they've grown stronger.

to be honest, you guys would be a pretty chill couple. outside of casual dates or romantic dinners, you prefer to stay home and watch a movie together. kissing isn’t your thing, but you love sharing long, deep hugs with him. nonetheless, jiwoong would take amazing care of you, always checking up on you and comforting you when you need it. even though you guys don’t express your feelings all the time, you find comfort in each other’s presence.

sassy couple!!! you guys give attitude and bitch as a joke but is it? all jokes aside, hao loves to help you in any way possible and vice versa. even with your busy schedules, you always find ways to make time for each other and go on dates. at the end of the day, zhanghao loves to lay in your arms and listen to how your day went. in your free time, hao would teach you how to play the violin or offer you his endless knowledge on random topics.

you and matthew are an adventurous couple. most of your dates consist of trying new foods, going to the gym, or sleeping. you guys would make mini vlogs about your adventures (the next best food bloggers/gaming nerds). anyway, you aren’t one for skinship but you have other ways of showing your love. matthew likes to leave you notes before heading to work, while you cook him his favorite foods for dinner. a relaxing but enjoyable relationship.

having found out you loved flowers, hanbin made it his mission as your boyfriend to buy you flowers whenever he could, which was almost every other week

most of the time he would gift them to you himself but on the days he couldn't, he made sure they were delivered to you

your home was slowly turning into a botanical garden but you loved seeing the colourful flowers brighten up your home

hanbin somehow always knew when to get a new bouquet for you and when you asked him, he had said the owner of the local flower shop he buys from was kind enough to tell him how long they would usually stay alive for

"What sort of flowers should I get you next week? We did lillies last time, how about tulips, perfect for spring." he suggests showing his whisker smile that had you weak

your boyfriend tried to get different flowers each time and would even go as far as seeing what they mean and writing a little note on that

holding your hand was mandatory to jiwoong

if you were around him, he had to be holding your hand in some way or form

he has always been a complete gentleman to you too

from the day you both had started dating, he grew into this habit of kissing the back of your hand whenever you were holding hands

this little display of affection melted your heart each time you felt his soft lips place a short kiss to your hand

winter had come in and you and jiwoong decided to take a walk to a nearby park to enjoy the snow a bit despite how incredibly cold it was outside

"My hands are freezing." you pout trying to get some friction in your hands rubbing them together but it was no use

grabbing hold of your hands, your boyfriend rubbed his hands with yours in an attempt to warm them up before laying a delicate kiss to both of your hands

you could name a thousand reasons as to why hao was absolutely perfect and what little things you liked about him

one being how he had this habit of brushing your hair out of your face and then just smiling at you

"And so I told the supervisor-" you abruptly stop mid sentence as your boyfriend brushed your hair out of your face

hao was an attentive person and whenever you spoke he made sure all his attention was on you whilst maintaining eye contact

you had been telling him about your day at work and ofcourse he made sure to listen to you but a stray hair falling into your face distracted him from admiring your beautiful features

raising his hand, he delicately brushed the hair out placing it behind your ear

"Continue talking, I was listening. Your beautiful face distracted me." he says as he smiled warmly making you blush

↳ playing/drawing on your hands

matthew tended to zone out alot sometimes or just have a short attention span when he wasn't interested in something which would lead him to busy himself

he always thought your hands were the the perfect compliment to his and constantly complimented how pretty your hands were

this brought in a new habit of his where instead of playing with his own hands, whenever he was holding yours he would gently just play with them or the rings you had

sometimes if he gets bored he starts doodling little shapes or words on your palm with his fingers

on certain occasions he would mindlessly hold your hand in his and start drawing cute things on your hand using a pen and you were happy to let him do so because you loved seeing him happy

"(Y/n), look. I drew for you." he brightly smiles showing you the little rainbow and fox drawing on your hand

for all you cared, matthew could draw on your face but seeing his smile and how happy he got, you could never stay mad at him

you were able to proudly show off the doodles matthew did because happy matthew = happy life (yes it rhymes)

↳ singing you to sleep

it wasn't a secret that one of your favourite qualities about taerae was his voice

it always a source of comfort for you and he knew you loved it too

you weren't the biggest fan of thunder and your boyfriend knew that so he always tried his best to be with you whenever there were thunderstorms to help you sleep

this night was no different, it was heavily raining and you couldn't sleep with all the commotion of the loud thunder outside

curled up into a ball, you cover your ears with your eyes tightly shut silently praying for taerae to come quicker, as if on cue, you feel him hold you as he rubs your back comfortingly

"I'm here angel, shh." he says softly laying you both down as you lay on his chest

you grew to accept his gifts knowing he would get sad whenever you rejected his gifts claiming they were far too expensive but he would assure you that he would buy you the earth if he could

"Hey baby, I have a suprise for you." ricky tells you pulling a black neatly wrapped gift from behind his back

sighing, you accept the gift not wanting to see your boyfriend upset

inside was a valentines limited edition necklace from Tiffany & Co that you had looked at slightly longer than usual whilst shopping together the other day

pouting not believing him, you can't help but hold back tears seeing as how he was able to even notice you eyeing that necklace

"Ricky, thank you so much for this gift baby, but this is the fifth one this week- and it's only Wednesday." you tell him as you laugh softly seeing his shy smile as his ears go red in embarrassment

"I know but you deserve to be spoiled. And that's final." he tells you leaving a short peck on your cheek before helping you put the beautiful necklace on

↳ ruffling your hair

you had been childhood friends with gyuvin for as long as you could remember

but during the course of your friendship, you both realised you had more than platonic feelings for one another and decided to pursue a romantic relationship

he had always had this habit of ruffling your hair ever since you had been friends and it was just an affectionate thing he had picked up

it was small things like this that made you fall for him even before you knew who he really was

and when he did finally muster up the courage to ask you out and things were official between you both

he would leave them on your class desk in the morning at school to even your bed side table for you to see once you had woken up and he had left prior

he could've left you a text message but he also knew how much you liked the cute notes and this was a special thing in your relationship

ever since his growth spurt, yujin developed this habit of resting his arm on your head

sometimes it felt like he was silently mocking you for being shorter than him

despite your attempts to stop him, yujin once again rested his arm on your head and you let him do so as you continued reading

you had also grown into this habit of pinching his round cheeks because they were just very soft and he allowed you to do so

and for that, you sacrificed your head to become your best friend's personal arm rest

you were leaned up against hao’s chest on your couch, his arms wrapped around you and his eyes trained on the movie you were currently watching since you both decided to spend your day off in the comfort of your own home. you felt warm and content, a soft smile finding its way onto your lips as you relished in the tranquility being with your boyfriend brought you.

absentmindedly, you began to hold onto his fingers, feeling some of the callouses that had developed on them from his many years of playing violin and from numerous days of practicing choreo that involved being on the floor. you traced each and every curve of his knuckles, finally making your way up to the pads of his fingertips, tapping them gently with your own.

you stayed like that for a few moments, absentmindedly making your own beat to some of the background music that played in the movie. finally, hao shifted, making the decision to lace his hand perfectly with yours, a soft smile on his lips, “that tickles, you know.”

“oh, sorry,” you replied, finally looking up at him, only to catch him in the act of his sparkling brown eyes soaking up every single inch of you. you blushed, looking down at the collar of his shirt as a distraction.

“it’s okay, you're cute, so it makes up for it.”

HANBIN

“there you are!” hanbin, your boyfriend, exclaimed, flipping the cover off of your side of the bed to allow you to crawl in next to him, sighing in content the moment you were able to feel his warmth. you melted into his side, resting your free hand on his chest as you relished in the moment of finally being with him after a long, stressful day at work. 

“how was your day, love?” he asked softly, pressing a gentle kiss onto your forehead. you merely grumbled, barely getting out that you had contemplated quitting at least ten times throughout the day, which earned a chuckle from him. 

you nuzzled closer to him, asking, “what did you do today?”

he smiled softly as he recounted his dance practice to you, as well as the lunch he ate and the walk he took along the river as a break. while he spoke, he grabbed onto your hand, lacing and unlacing your fingers together. you couldn’t help but giggle at him as he did so, turning your hands every which way in an attempt to keep his mind occupied while you held quiet conversation with one another.

“what’s so funny?” he asked, peering down at your face through his bangs, playfulness sparking in his eyes. 

“nothing, you’re just cute.”

MATTHEW

you walked though the mall with your boyfriend, eyes scanning various stores before you decided on one you both wanted to go into. it was rather crowded, and while you knew matthew wouldn't stray too far from you, it was an instinct to reach forward and link your pinky with his.

you were unable to see the grin that broke out onto his face, but the more you continued to walk around, you tightened your grip, afraid of losing him in the giant crowd of people who were desperate to get their hands on whatever newest releases were out. he squeezed back, reassuring you that he was there, and you weren't going to be separated.

ultimately, you decided to exit the store, coming to the conclusion that it was much too busy for the both of your liking and walked down the main stretch of the mall. you began to pull your pinky away, but he gripped it so hard with his own you were almost afraid it would snap yours in half.

“sorry, love!” he was quick to apologize, but you could only smile at him, “i just like it when you do that, it makes me feel like i’m able to protect you.”

you giggled, slipping your entire hand in his, fingers wiggling to get settled comfortably, “no matter what you do, i’ll always feel safe.”

RICKY

you were sat on a picnic blanket in the park, the sun setting beautifully over the water and the warm air almost lulling you to sleep. your head was rested in ricky’s lap, one of his hands threading through your hair and the other in your own as you closely examined each and every ring adorning his fingers. you spun your favorite one around absentmindedly, stating, “this date has been so lovely, thank you.”

your eyes met with his momentarily, a look of adoration for you evident on his face as he replied, “i couldn't agree more,” lips curling into a gentle smile the moment your attention went back to what you were previously doing. 

the silver of the ring flashed beautifully in the evening sun, the diamonds embedded within in it causing you to turn it every which way to see their glimmer in different angles. ricky laughed quietly, voice at a volume only the two of you could hear, “you know, one day i’ll put one of those on your finger.”

you swore you could feel your heart beating out of your chest, your eyes snapping back up to look at him once more, unable to hide your excitement as you said, “i can’t wait.”

GUNWOOK

“i never realized how big your hands actually are,” you said, eyes wide in awe as you held gunwook’s hand up to you own, taking note of how much longer and wider they were than yours. you were lucky for your hands to even be considered half the size of his.

gunwook chuckled at your words, folding the tops of his fingers over yours to show just how much room there was left. you could no longer suppress the grin that had been fighting to tug at the corners of your lips, peering up at him only to be met with his soft gaze. you felt your cheeks begin to heat up, quickly looking away from him out of nervousness.

“you know,” gunwook replied, shifting his hand to the side ever so slightly, “i always thought your hands being so much smaller than mine is endearing.”

he linked your fingers together, catching you slightly off guard as he did so, and he raised them up to be level between you both. he flashed his gummy smile at you, dark irises disappearing into the crescent shape his eyes adorned.

“see? they’re a perfect fit!”

TAERAE

“i don’t understand why i can’t seem to get it” you huffed, your fingers playing a stream of extremely out-of-tune notes on taerae’s guitar. you told him you wanted to learn, but for some reason, your brain wasn’t working properly. 

taerae moved in behind you, allowing you to sit on his lap as his arms wrapped around your frame, “here, try this.”

he attempted to align your hands the way they were meant to be, but after a few minutes of you still not grasping it, he placed his hands over top of yours, strumming the melody to the song he had been attempting to teach you for the past hour now. you couldn’t help but feel a little flustered over the way his hands perfect encompassed your own, and you found your brain growing even foggier at his close proximity. 

“see, you did it!” taerae happily exclaimed, now shimming his fingers in between yours in order to properly link your hands together. you were thankful he couldn’t see how much you were blushing. 

“it’s all thanks to you, love.”

GYUVIN

you always loved lazing around in bed with your boyfriend on days you had no plans. you never felt embarrassed by how clingy you got with him, because you were always reassured he would be ten times worse than you. it was honestly a miracle if he ever let you out of his grasp for more than a few minutes at a time. 

you were content like that though, fingers laced together from the play fight you’d just finished having. your phone began to ring beside you, but when you attempted to reach for it, gyuvin refused to let you go. you laughed at him, “can i have my hands back?”

“hm,” he pondered for a moment, squeezing gently as he did so, a grin on his lips, “no, sorry, they’re all mine now. i like the way they feel in mine.”

“gyu~” you whined, “what if it’s a call from work or something?”

he couldn’t hold back the laughter as he playfully replied, “they can wait.”

JIWOONG

a warm breeze moved through the air as you walked through the park with your boyfriend, jiwoong, hands intertwined with one another and a peaceful silence amongst the both of you. jiwoong stole a few glances at you, taking in how pretty you looked and thinking of just how lucky he was to have you in his life.

he lifted your hands up to his mouth, lips brushing against your knuckles softly. you were able to feel him smiling against your skin, and you couldn’t help but look up at him with a questioning look in your eyes, “what was that for?”

“just to show my appreciation to you, is all,” he answered matter-of-factly, his loving smile contagious, “at least in a small way, that is.”

you returned his grin, this time kissing the back of his hand, catching him completely by surprise. you giggled, saying, “gotta return the favor.”

"still sleepy?" you nod as he chuckles again. "lets go back to bed."

☆.｡.:* telling you "no": it's honestly hard for hanbin to not give into your every demand. how could he possibly say no to a face like yours! you deserve the world and then some! however sometimes he really has to put his foot down. he's not a pushover by any means but sometimes you forget he can't do everything. when you're acting like a brat he might have to put you in your place. he gives a look that you narrow your eyes at. "i said no," he would first say with an irritated smile. if you persist, his smile drops and he gets serious. "y/n no" usually that works but if it doesn't he'll have to deal with you in other ways.
