Brady's first interaction with Future is so interesting to me with how much it took from that
at this point, Future already views the dev team (+ Sayer) as monsters, it feels like its only real context for "games" is cruelty – deriving enjoyment & satisfaction from the suffering of others. sim Young taught it that, to their creators, they are nothing. theyre just a simulation, just a game, their entire & continued existence hinges on the whims of a few
so it must seem particularly evil when Brady suggests a game, but Young told it to play along in order to keep them safe, so it does. every question is holding its world hostage, it cannot lose – and the others have no idea.
the fact Future not only copied but also continued to use his laugh, especially when its winning, is very telling. when Sayer then destroys its world anyway, it changes (after the initial shock) and responds with the question "would you like to play a game?" and we know how that ends
