Some personal thoughts on Pentious and Cherri's future relationship - maybe not developing as many think?

Just want to say upfront: I also don't think the writing for Cherri and Pentious's dynamic is flawed; on the contrary, the main point of this post is to explain that the complexity of their relationship is actually underestimated.

Simply put: I believe Cherri and Pentious are unlikely to actually get together in the canon storyline.

Here's some of my reasoning and evidence: That official 'Sk8er Boi' post (See Pic 1): Remember during the season, the official account posted about Cherri and Pentious using "Sk8er Boi" lyrics? That song's about a girl missing out on a guy because of peer pressure. The lyrics fit their situation almost too well.(See Pic 2) It's a song about missing out and not being right for each other, not a happy ending. Makes you wonder if that was a hint. The Valentine's keychain animation (See Pic 3): Yeah, they got a Valentine's keychain, looks like canon, right? But check the official promo video again – the animations are different for each couple. Chaggie separates a bit and snaps back. VoxVal splits far apart then rejoins. Only CherriSnake fully separates and stays separated. Could just be animation, could be a hint...

The actual plot and Vivzie's style:

Okay, about that kiss... : This feels important. Vivziepop has strong feminist themes in her work, she says so herself. And let's be real, a public confession + non-consensual kiss isn't exactly respectful. Even in the heat of the moment, I have a hard time seeing her writing that as the start of a healthy, endorsed relationship.

They fundamentally want different things:

Cherri: Loves being free, one-night stands, no strings attached. No sign she's just coping like Angel. And she was super against taking care of Niffty in S1E6 (while Angel stepped up, pic 4). Seems like a clear critique of the "all women want to be mothers" trope (kudos for that, like Millie's reaction in HB S2E12, pic 5). Cherri hates taking care of kids. It's core to her character.

Pentious: We spent basically a whole episode (S1E3) on how crucial the Eggs are to him (pic 6). He clearly wants a stable, long-term thing. His happy place seems to involve settling down with his "kids." Pentious needs his kids. (Whether he's a good dad is another messy topic).

So... what this likely means: For them to work in canon, Cherri would basically have to ditch her entire lifestyle (clubbing, flings) and probably become a stepmom to the Eggs. For a creator who constantly pushes back against the "women are naturally maternal" idea, that feels super unlikely as a plot point. It'd be like a hardcore "childfree cat lady" suddenly deciding her life's purpose is marrying some dude and having babies. It just doesn't fit Cherri.

Basically:

Putting it all together – the hints, their clashing personalities/needs, and the creator's known themes – I just don't see Cherri and Pentious becoming an official canon couple.

Again, zero shade on fanfic or shipping! Just talking about where the actual show seems to be pointing. Curious to hear what you all think!

Some thoughts on HB S2E12

I'm hoping the plot about millie being pregnant is just an excuse to shove her and moxxie further into the background. I do not want to watch that shit show go down. HB has handled none of the serious topic within the show with any grace.

Seeing millie cry about being pregnant hurt to watch. Not that I care for the character, but that is such a shit situation and again, I'm not looking forward to see how it's handled later on. I really hope this plot thread is drop and never mentioned in season 3.

In contrast, Sally May sliding out of the house to say she was alone was one of the best jokes in the series. Really wish we got more comedy like that.

Also, I don't think the message with the human family was supposed to be it's okay to cheat if you're gay. I see a lot of people on here saying that, I'd I think that mark is off a bit.

The message seems more like 'its okay to cheat if your partner is an asshole'. Which, idk, break up. Anyway, not better, but I think it being about two men is just to bash us over the heads with this could be stolas and blitzo +daughters. (It's funny how blitzo imagines that little scenario, but how often had he and Via even spoken? Not checking, but I'm pretty sure up to this pint it was only is ep two when he was telling her to be quiet so he could complain at stolas. They are nowhere near a family dynamic.)

I know it's a nitpick but cheating on a partner that's sucks anyway as been an excuse for stoliz since the series started and I think this episode is just hammering that in.

Its funny how Via had enough magic to defend stolas and blitzo from ice bird but stolas needed to get help literally every time he was attacked.

Stella is more of a prop than an actual character so I pretty much ignored her during this ep and will continue to. But she does bring up a good point that stolas waited way too long to try and contact Via. At best it's the next day. He was so worried about her when he lost his powers but not once thought to call her?

He says that he can't see her for another 100 years but like, giver a week or so to cool off and try again? Via deserves to cut him off but stolas gives up way too fast for how much he claims to love her. Dude isn't going to try at least one other time, no, that's it? okay

All in all I can't wait for season 3. I love a good trash fire.

Also sinsmas is a dumb name and a christmas ripoff is so uncreative and what do you mean they don't know what christmas is

In Star Trek S2E12 "The Deadly Years" which aired on 12/8/67, due to some alien planet shenanigans several crewmembers including Kirk, Spock, Scotty and McCoy and a random lieutenant begin ageing rapidly.

Shatner looks better at 94 (HB Shat) than Kirk did at the computer estimate of 60 to 70.

I don't think that today society really considers 60 to 70 to be "old", like it did back in 1967.
