Pros:

This man feels like stability ugh He is reliable, calm, relaxed and he likes when people depend on him. He will pack your lunch for work for you, he will make sure to pick up milk and toilet paper on his way home and he will never leave you waiting, because he's early as hell and you can guarantee he will do what he said he would.

He is gentle and loving, but not in a suffocating way necessarily. Rather, his type of love is quietly intense and laid back at the same time. When he looks at you, you will feel it for real. But he won't make a big deal out of it in public and he's not necessarily into big gestures or public displays of affection. Rather, he will graze his hand against yours and give you a look and a smile, and you can literally see into his soul ugh I find that so attractive lol

He does commitment right - if that's what you're looking for, he's more than happy to build a life with you. He wants that... He wants to wake up to you every day, he likes knowing he's coming home to you.

Bonus one, but he's active and so talented on the ice and he will literally put on shows for you ugh

Cons:

Not as spontenous as he could be, which is not everyone's cup of coffee. He likes his habits and comforts and he likes the people in his life and it takes him a while to make space for new things or new people. This also might translate into dating and the fact that he might take a while to warm up.

He can be broody and negative or even moody and low sometimes. Definitely can be jealous and possessive and combined with his hang ups around losing people or things not working out and you can get pretty nasty behaviour out of him.

He's not a talker... He doesn't talk about his feelings much, just keeps everything inside until he crumbles... You'd think that with the fact he's been in therapy he would have an easier time with it, but he hates being seen as weak or feeling inadequate, so he just... Tends to ignore things until they're too big to ignore.

It depends on how comfortable he is with you. At first it will be long gazes and soft smiles whenever you’re around him. But as he gets more comfortable, he’ll actually voice it and be very tactile.

1. What words or phrases do they overuse?

I don't think he has many, but he does use 'dude' or 'man' a lot. Gladly, it's not 'bro' lol

Touch - Ethan is quite a tactile man and quite physical when he's close to people. Clasping a hand on someone's shoulder, running his hand over people's backs, bumping their shoulder etc. He likes physical connection.

15. What does intimacy look like to them?

To him intimacy translates into domesticity almost. He likes a sense of belonging, he likes knowing he's coming home to someone. Shared dinners, talking about his day with someone, leaving notes and messages, the simple act of reminding someone to buy milk or toilet paper, watching TV together, knowing the other person so well that he's able to anticipate their needs and moods. That is A+ intimacy to him ;;

1. What bad habits do they have?

He doesn’t speak his mind as much as he should and keeps things bottled up under the façade of ‘I’m fine’ for far too long. Also alcohol, he needs to give that up. 

2. What makes them laugh out loud?

He is a simple man, any good joke will make him laugh. A smart comment will do it as well. 

3. How do they display affection?

Through caring for people and taking on their worries. He wants to be relied on and wants to be able to help his partners through whatever they are going through. 

4. How do they want to be seen by others?

He wants to be seen as reliable and capable, strong. He wants to be seen as a stable force in people’s lives, he wants to be seen as a good man. 

5. How do they react to criticism?

He takes it in, but he is a bit stubborn and until he fully understands the reasoning behind the criticism he’ll reject change. 

6. What are their pet peeves?

Skating mums (my god, he hates dealing with them, they are usually nagging and too controlling), being babied or made to feel like he can’t make his own decisions, chatty bartenders. 

7. What is their perception of family?

He has an ideal idea of what marriage and family looks like. His parents have a very healthy and loving marriage and he grew up with that idea of a perfect family and for a while experienced it too. So he has high expectations of what his relationships should look like and absolutely hates the fact his marriage broke down. 

8. What advice would they give their younger self?

To know they are stronger than they think. To be less afraid to take chances and to not be afraid to put the work in. 

9. What is their home like?

Cosy, a bit of a bachelor pad, to be honest. Everything is modest enough, he has a big piano and a balcony he enjoys. Comfortable couch and big TV and he always tries to keep his kitchen clean.

Nowadays he takes it one day at a time, but he wants a family. He is definitely the marrying and having kids type and, despite what happened, he still wants that for himself.
