Harlem Capital Interviews Craig J.Lewis — CEO & Founder of Gig Wage - HCP
Craig J. Lewis: I played Division 1 basketball in college and then played professional basketball in Europe. When I finished playing I got married, started a company that failed, and then said ‘hey, I’m gonna get a job.’ So actually, I got introduced to the payments and HR space through a sales position at a company called ADP (Automatic Data Processing). While I was there, we went from a service company to a software and technology company and I was on one of the early teams selling ADP’s small business technology payroll offering. I knew at that point in time that I wanted to be in the business of paying people and managing workforces, because I just thought it was a good space to build a career in.

Effective HCP Engagement: Strategies for the Digital Era
In the dynamic landscape of healthcare, effective engagement with healthcare professionals (HCPs) is crucial for the success of pharmaceutical companies, medical device manufacturers, and healthcare organizations. This article explores key strategies to foster meaningful and productive relationships with HCPs, resulting in improved collaboration, knowledge exchange, and ultimately, better patient care.
Tumblr media
Understanding HCP Needs and Preferences
Understanding the needs and preferences of healthcare professionals (HCPs) is a fundamental aspect of effective engagement. Organizations can tailor their strategies to meet those needs and foster meaningful relationships by gaining insights into their specific requirements and challenges. Organizations should invest in research methods such as surveys, interviews, and focus groups to gather data directly from HCPs. This research can help identify their priorities, patient populations, areas of interest, and challenges they face in their daily practice. Recognize that different HCPs have different needs and preferences. Tailor engagement strategies are based on factors like specialty, practice setting, and geographical location. Personalization enhances the relevance and value of interactions with HCPs, leading to increased engagement.
Promoting peer-to-peer collaboration among HCPs can be instrumental in improving healthcare outcomes. Creating forums, both online and offline, where HCPs can share best practices, case studies, and clinical experiences can foster a vibrant community of learning and collaboration. These platforms can also serve as spaces for industry experts and thought leaders to engage with HCPs, providing insights into emerging therapies, technological advancements, and healthcare trends. By facilitating such knowledge exchange, organizations can position themselves as valuable partners invested in advancing the practice of medicine.
Facilitating peer-to-peer collaboration and knowledge exchange among healthcare professionals (HCPs) is an effective strategy for fostering engagement and enhancing the practice of medicine. By creating platforms and opportunities for HCPs to share insights, best practices, and clinical experiences, organizations can promote a culture of continuous learning and collaboration. Develop online platforms, forums, or communities where HCPs can connect and engage with their peers. These platforms can be dedicated websites, social media groups, or professional networking platforms tailored to specific medical specialties or areas of interest. By providing a space for HCPs to interact, share knowledge, ask questions, and discuss emerging trends, organizations can foster a vibrant community of learning and collaboration.
Organize thought leadership programs that bring together HCPs, industry experts, and opinion leaders. These programs can include conferences, symposiums, or panel discussions, where participants can share their expertise, present research findings, and engage in productive discussions. Thought leadership programs provide a platform for HCPs to learn from each other and stay updated on the latest advancements in their fields. Establish mentoring programs that connect experienced HCPs with early-career professionals or those seeking guidance. Peer mentors can provide valuable support, share their expertise, and offer career advice. Additionally, organizations can facilitate coaching programs where HCPs can receive feedback and guidance from their peers on specific clinical or professional challenges. ZING has been tested, scaled, and evolved over the past several years and Pp360 has the experience to keep going, enabling pharmaceutical companies to have practical, compliant HCP engagement.
Facilitating peer-to-peer collaboration and knowledge exchange among HCPs not only strengthens professional networks but also enhances the overall quality of patient care. By creating platforms and initiatives that encourage HCPs to share their knowledge and experiences, organizations can foster a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and collaboration.
Trust is a cornerstone of effective HCP engagement. Organizations must prioritize transparent communication to build and maintain trust with HCPs. This includes openly sharing information about product efficacy, safety profiles, and clinical trial data. Clear and honest communication regarding any conflicts of interest is also crucial for credibility. By being transparent in their interactions, organizations can foster a foundation of trust with HCPs, which is essential for long-term collaboration and partnership. Provide HCPs with clear and accurate information about products, services, clinical data, and research findings. Avoid exaggerations or misleading claims that may undermine credibility. HCPs rely on accurate information to make informed decisions about patient care, and transparent communication helps foster trust in the organization's integrity.
Pharma-to-Physician relationships rely on clear, timely communication that is handled in a compliant manner – something that is difficult to ensure with many measures today. That is why solutions like P360’s ZING Engagement Suite is the way to go. Building trust through transparent communication is an ongoing process that requires consistent effort and a genuine commitment to openness and honesty. By establishing transparent communication practices, organizations can cultivate trust with HCPs, leading to stronger relationships, improved collaboration, and ultimately, better patient outcomes.
Conclusion:
In a rapidly evolving healthcare landscape, effective engagement with HCPs is paramount for the success of organizations operating in the life sciences industry. By understanding HCP needs, providing educational resources, promoting collaboration, and fostering transparent communication, organizations can establish strong relationships that drive better patient care and mutually beneficial outcomes for all stakeholders involved.

An interview with one of our lovely book artists!
First, why don’t you tell us a bit about yourself as an artist? What do you mostly specialize in (ex: comics, illustrations, etc)? What are your favorite things to draw?
I work in concept design and illustration. I love painting environments (especially tropical) and creatures.
When did you first play Spyro the Dragon and what were your feelings about it at the time? How does it make you feel now?
It always felt special when I  would find really hard to find orbs and I loved how satisfying solving  the puzzles was. Definitely a comforting feeling to play spyro and I love looking at how much they did with early 3d graphics. Its still so full of color and personality after all these years.  I still hate the crystal challenge against Hunter in Magma Cone.
Would you say Spyro has influenced your style today and if it has, how so?
Definitely in my color choices, and I still love painting dragons of course.
What are your favorites from the series? Such as level, character, song, and overall favorite game?
Love all the music from the games JUST YES. Favorite level is hard but I guess a tie between Shady Oasis and Idol Springs.  (I definitely favor Ripto's Rage)
Other comments or thoughts about the zine or Spyro?
I adore Spyro and feel like its just a great game for anyone to play! Its perfect for all ages and is so fun. I hope people enjoy the zine and get that sweet nostalgia kick.  Or that maybe it will inspire people who haven't played to give it a try!

FACT CHECK: The story going around about the DSM-5-TR changes to ASD (autism spectrum disorder) diagnostic criteria becoming more "conservative" is way overblown.
I was curious about the story after seeing it around a bit and noticing that each time I saw the story it mentioned the word "conservative." It's a classic sign that a story is coming from a single source of information. After looking around, I found a podcast interview with the Editor and Co-chair of the American Psychiatric Associations’ DSM-5 text revision, Michael B. First, M.D that appears to be the source of the "conservative" language.
Here's the link to that podcast: https://therapyreimagined.com/modern-therapist-podcast/whats-new-in-the-dsm-5-tr-an-interview-with-dr-michael-b-first/
The show notes contain the image I've attached to this post that discusses the "conservative" nature of the new ASD diagnostic criteria. However, listening to the podcast Dr. First only uses the word "conservative" once to describe the *current* DSM-5 ASD diagnostic criteria. He states that the current criteria is meant to be conservative but the criteria that appeared in the DSM-5 could be misinterpreted. Here's how:
In the DSM-5, there are two relevant categories to the ASD diagnostic criteria: A. "social communication and interaction" and B. "restricted, repetitive behaviors". The category that is "changing" is A. social communication and interaction.
The original text of the DSM-5 was meant to require all 3 areas listed under this category to be required for a diagnosis. However, the text was not entirely clear and could be misunderstood, causing a clinician to think that only one of the areas listed in the category were required for a diagnosis.
The change to the ASD criteria happening in the DSM-5-TR is clarifying that all 3 areas are required. So the criteria *is* getting more restrictive, right? Well, no.
The DSM-5 is constantly updated by the American Psychiatric Association, but only the online version. These changes to the ASD diagnostic criteria already happened years ago for the electronic version of the DSM-5. In fact, you can already see them online with the updated criteria. Here's the CDC's page for the diagnostic criteria of ASD in children for healthcare providers, which uses the DSM-5:
This page states:
"...a child must have persistent deficits in each of three areas of social communication and interaction..." (emphasis mine) - https://www.cdc.gov/ncbddd/autism/hcp-dsm.html
This page was last updated in June 2020 and reflects the "new," "conservative" ASD diagnostic criteria.
The "conservative" changes to the ASD diagnostic criteria are not only already in effect, they have been for years. This story going around is simply not a big deal and no major changes are coming that aren't already in place.

Hi Mama-tumblz! I'm glad to that you're still blogging about OL 🤗 I sent you some questions last year as my cousin, hcp, closed her Tumblr account. We're from the Philippines and OL has been available on Netflix here for several years. Not many people know about the show, though. I'm guessing there might be a big promo push since English is widely spoke and read in our country.
I remember you, yes. That’s interesting, explains the insert into Sam’s interview and the important note that he’s too busy to date. 🙄. Hope you’re well. My love to HCP. Remind her that Canada still needs doctors.

The DOC wore a ruffly blouse under her green sweater today that really reminded me of Princess Diana. What a lovely sight.
Sound nice isn't it...
I suspect someone's pr firm had to pull a lot of strings to get Meghan her "essay" spot. Poor dear wanted a US Vogue cover and all she got was a essay in UK Vogue.
If it gets published....😁
He certainly would have known her profession when he handed over the cash.💰💰 Allegedly. "Is he nice? jg
Yes indeed!
I couldn't help but appreciate the difference between today when DOC met a little girl with 2 plaits and a bouquet for her. The child was VERY shy and kept her head averted but gave Catherine the flowers after she was complimented on her hair. Contrast that with when PH dragged a girl to MM who forced a hug and the unwilling girl kept her hands stiffly at her side.
Absolutely!  Kate is a gem!
People keep speculating bout the backers. But remember back before the wedding we were told we had it. LS said PA was involved. And the Epstein case was hot then. Massive effort being made to assure certain "others" names associated with Epstein did not get revealed. I think this is what the backers wanted the RF to do intervene so a certain someone name would not be revealed as an Epstein associate. Perhaps trying to force PA to assist in that effort. 1/2
2/2 remember the mysterious tweet from a pedophile catcher activist who thanked Queen Elizabeth for her help "I see you in the background" was what she said. The backers wanted the RF to assist in a cover up clearly the RF refused. To their credit.
Or to support Epstein.....? As in "he couldn't have done those things?” Speculating of course
The Angola trip sounds though just like something Harry would want to do. He has been involved in the land mine clearance issue for a few years. And I think Ascot is a lot like TTC in that hard to explain her absence so she may make an appearance. So little time though I MM anons message is encouraging perhaps MM must get what she can this summer cause that is all the time she has left?
She is not in a position to bargain...that's what is being forgotten.  If she does anything...it's because LG is allowing it....more rope perhaps?
Looking at it in hindsight I wish they forced MM to go to one of DTs functions. She has gained positive press/attention (at least in the US) because she wasn’t there and the Piers article is Inadvertently helping that. It has across like it was her choice to not attend as if it was some kind of protest/FU to DT. And since he is such a polarizing character even people who may have disliked her before are giving her props. I think this one may have backfired.
Ahhhh, nothing like letting people think they have won....then the fall!
Interesting! JM getting article space in the DM re her work on GMA and comments are pretty much on the negative side (as they should be!). Unflattering as well. Is this placement by Mio in support of MM or is this the beginning of the exposing of the cast of accomplices? Drip drip drip. Speculating of course!
We shall see...interesting times ahead!
For the Dad Survival Kit: throw in a one-way ticket to Los Angeles that he can give to "that woman". jg
This works for me!
I’m from Angola. I am meant to spend 3 months in France for work training later this year. If I’m around I will try to go to an event. I bet it’s going to be a bunch of British workers and paid crowds. I don’t know anyone who would take their time to see Monarchy in Angola.
Thank you!  That would be great...paid crowds...indeed!😁
Hi Skippy, WOW! PH positively glowed at HCP without MM. Seems to be all smiles these days when she is not about.
Isn't that the most telling of all?😁
Dear Skippy, how does ‘female empowerment’ sit next to ‘yacht girl’ in a description of things that are (or have been) important to someone? Apparently, the Vogue article will concentrate on such important issues AND we will get to see inside Frogmore Cottage... alledgedly.
I doubt it gets published!
MM in all of her interviews: 1) hands flailing 2) eyes closed while fake smiling plus dentures push-pull 3) shoulders moving in upward motion while talking rubbish shit 4) hand on hair while talking 5) acting coy and scholarly while looking dumb in reality 6) exaggerated slang accent 7) dropping word salad to sound scholarly to no avail 8) claw hands in motion 9) eyes fluttering for the "pretty face aura" 10) mouth and jaw in sync
Spot on!
New Dad survival kits: DIY repairs if Darren Doll head pops off. 😂
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 we are talking about a DOLL people..a DOLL!
Hi Skippy. Just checked out the photos on the Sentebale event. 1) Good thing PH wore white shirt again. I think he has a new pair of shoes too. I hope to see him gain some weight soon because he looks thinner compared to the pre-The Conjuring chapter. Haha! 2) Rosamund Pike was there. Thank the heavens that she won't be usurped by a gatecrasher this time. Haha! 3) But of course, MM has to insert herself into the article even if it doesn't concern her existence. Haha! 💩👽👻☠💣💀👹🍌 #MMinsert
Happy to hear Harry was looking good!
Not surprised PH was at concert alone ... Rita is young, exotic, beautiful, talented singer/songwriter, ex-model, self-made wealthy, rocking body and charismatic ... and friend of PH. If jealous of DOC, think that this would be worse as Rita has no partner, apparently. What a threat. Glad he did not have to go back to Frogmore tonight.
Yes...but please....let's let Harry get his life in order first.....
Hello Skippy. I am the the anon who had asked about Rome. My heartfelt thanks to Julie for sharing the info. Wishing her a very happy birthday and a wonderful and memorable trip to the Mediterranean. Thanks Skippy:)
You are welcome!  Thank you!
👋PG again, Harry went solo to Sentebale concert 🎼, he looks fabulous, carefree, and HAPPY!!!! God save the Queen and our beloved Commonwealth 🇨🇦
Wonderful!
Is Vogue nuts?Markle will make the fall issue all abouf her!If this is in fact true(looks like one her manipulations)there better be someone who has the final say on the issue.I predict it will be worse selling issue ever.
Will it actually get published?  That's the question!
Skippy, do you think that there is a connection between Vogue naming this nonentity 1 of the top 25 whatevers, and the article about to enlighten us about global issues because she is kinda some sorta expert on inarticulation? Seems to me, that she is NOT in that group but, having put her there, Vogue have to big-her-up to substantiate its claim. You have only to hear the speeches she wrote for self and PH. Embarrassing or what?
I honestly can't see it being published!
Thank you all so much!  Love you!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️😂

People With Arthritis Are Trying and Using Medical Marijuana
Tumblr media
MedicalResearch.com Interview with: Kelly Gavigan Kelly Gavigan, MPH Manager, Research and Data Science CreakyJoints  MedicalResearch.com: What is the background for this study? Response: Over the past fifteen years, there have been significant improvements in quality of life among people living with rheumatic and musculoskeletal disease with the introduction of biologics and targeted therapies. However, despite a variety of treatments to try, patients often seek non-pharmacological alternative and complementary treatments, such as marijuana for medical use (MMU), to help manage their condition and symptoms. MMU is becoming increasingly available in the United States as different states legalize it under specific circumstances. Legal or not, according to a survey conducted by CreakyJoints using the ArthritisPower Research Registry (n=1,059 participants), people with arthritis are trying marijuana for medical use.  MedicalResearch.com: What are the main findings? Response: The survey found that more current or past marijuana for medical use users live in a state where marijuana is medically legal (55%) than not (46%). Only 40 percent of MMU users have used a medical marijuana card to legally purchase it. Among the respondents who had never used marijuana for medical use (63%), illegality (40%), potential impairment (24%), and not knowing where (21%) or how (20%) to obtain MMU (legally or not) were cited as top reasons for not using it. Of respondents who live in states where marijuana is medically legal, most (68%) had informed their health care provider (HCP) about their marijuana for medical use use, whereas only slightly more than half (54%, p=0.02) informed their HCP in non-legal states. Utilizing the ArthritisPower® research registry, which now includes more than 22,000 consented participants, the 77-item questionnaire surveyed 1,059 participants in the United States who were over the age of 19 and reported physician-diagnosed rheumatic or musculoskeletal disease. The survey asked participants about their current health status (NIH PROMIS Global Health), their use and perceptions of marijuana for medical use and cannabidiol (CBD) products, and their related information needs. CreakyJoints independently funded this study.  MedicalResearch.com: What should readers take away from your report? Response: This study suggests that people with arthritis are trying and regularly using marijuana for what they perceive to be a medical purpose, regardless of state legality. It’s particularly worrisome that participants aren’t talking to their health care providers about their use of marijuana for medical use so that it can be part of their medical record. That may be, in part, because of its legal status and trying to protect themselves, their doctors and their access to these products. It’s important to note that even though marijuana (and related CBD) usage is growing among people with arthritis and other chronic diseases, research about its safety and effectiveness lags far behind. Doctors do not have any research to reference regarding the effective dose, potential interactions with prescribed medications, or its safety, overall.  MedicalResearch.com: What recommendations do you have for future research as a result of this work? Response: CreakyJoints believes that it is time for the federal government to reschedule marijuana so that it can be studied under the same regulations that apply to prescribed medications. We need high quality randomized controlled clinical trials to better understand whether and how marijuana for medical use might be used in conjunction with approved medications. In our study, a majority (62%) of participants expressed interest in participating in a trial on MMU treatment of rheumatic and musculoskeletal disease. Notably, participants top concern about a trial was ensuring participation would be legal (36%). MedicalResearch.com: Is there anything else you would like to add? Response: Even though participants who live in a state where MMU is legal are significantly more likely to use MMU and CBD than participants who live in states where MMU is not legal, we found that many people  --  24 percent of participants who live in states where MMU is not legal  -- have used or currently use MMU. Hence, the marijuana they’re accessing is not regulated in the same way that marijuana for medical use is regulated in states where it is legal. This presents a whole slew of challenges for the patient and their providers, as they try to navigate dosage, THC percentage, and other factors that may or may not impact the potential benefits of MMU. This is why clinical studies need to be conducted, so that research can help inform policy and regulation. Disclosures: Kelly Gavigan is an employee of Global Healthy Living Foundation (GHLF). GHLF has received research funding support from AbbVie, Amgen, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Eli Lilly, Janssen, Pfizer, Sanofi Genzyme, and UCB. Development of ArthritisPower was partially supported through a Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) award (PPRN-1306-04811). This ArthritisPower research was supported by CreakyJoints, the digital patient community of GHLF, funding.  Citation: Legal Matters: Attitudes Regarding Marijuana for Medical Use Among Patients with Rheumatic and Musculoskeletal Disease Kelly Gavigan1, Shilpa Venkatachalam 1, Jeffrey Curtis 2, Carole Wiedmeyer 1, Tien Sydnor-Campbell 1, Christine Stake 1, Terri Robinson 1 and W.

CPR Training Winnipeg - How to teach CPR effectively
Tumblr media
Are you a new teacher seeking for tips on how to start teaching CPR or an experienced instructor looking for a refresher on the fundamentals of a good CPR class? We've put up a list of five recommendations to help you teach CPR properly every time you enter the classroom. If you are offering HCP Courses Winnipeg, you will need to pay special attention to this.
Make the most of class time by planning beforehand.
It's not simple to teach people how to save lives. You may connect with each student throughout class time to ensure they acquire the skills they need to react in an emergency scenario if you prepare ahead for each of your CPR lessons. Here are a few methods to prepare for success ahead of time:
Examine your course schedule and make sure you've addressed any logistical concerns before the planned class time. This will reduce the number of inquiries you get when you enter the classroom, enabling you to focus entirely on teaching.
Make a list of the CPR training equipment you'll need to properly teach your students CPR (i.e., the right number of mannequins, AEDs, and so on), and double-check that everything is clean, sterilized, packed, and ready to go. Also, make sure you have everything you'll need to sterilize the equipment after each class session.
Rely on a national training organization's CPR curriculum and teaching materials.
Choosing nationally recognized training materials that meet the latest International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) Consensus on Science and Treatment Recommendations, as well as current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Emergency Cardiac Care (ECC) guidelines, is critical to ensuring you are teaching others the most up-to-date scientific methods to save a life.
Most training firms give instructor materials in addition to student resources (student manuals, eBooks, etc.) to assist you in planning your course. Make sure you have properly examined all of the materials before entering the classroom so you are prepared to answer any questions that may arise.
Rehearse
It's difficult to imagine stepping up in front of a classroom full of pupils. It takes a lot of work and repetition to become a good teacher. Consider teaching CPR techniques to family members or friends after studying the course materials. Practicing your teaching skills in a familiar atmosphere can help you figure out what works effectively and what needs to be tweaked before giving your first course in the community. You should have a strong understanding on how to use a First Aid Kit Winnipeg.
It's natural to be worried before or even during your first few courses. If you make a mistake or your voice begins to tremble, be honest with your pupils and tell them you're still working on your teaching abilities. Your sincerity will almost certainly gain you respect from your pupils.
Make CPR instruction relevant to your pupils
Remember your high school English teacher's saying, "Show, don't tell?" Those statements still ring true in today's media-driven environment. ECSI has discovered that telling students about the necessity of emergency care training is one thing, but when they see a life being saved or see real-world instances in class, the message really sinks in.
So, how may these examples be used into your training? Bring the video to your class or invite the camp counselor to speak at your next training session if you see a reporter on the local news interview a teacher who performed CPR on an unresponsive student or hear about a camp counselor who performed First Aid on a camper who was seriously injured miles from their campsite. These apparently basic activities demonstrate the importance of emergency care in our daily lives and inspire students to react appropriately when the time comes.
Keep your training materials clean and sanitized
Build additional time into your schedule after your CPR lesson to prepare for your next course. Here are some ideas for getting started. Organize and keep your course administration materials up to date. This will help you retain students for refresher training and to promote new courses to them in the future.
After you've finished giving a CPR course, the last thing you'll want to do is return to your office or home and clean and sterilize all of your training equipment. Refrain from packing these products and instead clean them up and prepare them for your next course. This will guarantee that you are prepared to teach when the time arises.
Examine how the CPR Training Winnipeg went. Were there any areas that you thought went particularly well? Were there any aspects of the course that you think may be improved in the future? Were there any queries that you couldn't answer? Were there any examples given by students that would be useful in future classes? Take a few moments to jot down your ideas on a piece of paper. You'll be able to utilize this information to improve your course as you continue to teach.

Turquoisephoenix
An interview with one of our lovely book artists!
First, why don’t you tell us a bit about yourself as an artist? What do you mostly specialize in (ex: comics, illustrations, etc)? What are your favorite things to draw?
My name is Turquoisephoenix and I am a freelance Digital artist with a BFA major who also works at a certain mouse-themed theme park. The things I adore drawing are the things that inspired me to draw in the first place; cartoons, animals, cartoony animals, dragons, mad science, all that good stuff. I love animation and want all that lovely movement to translate into my own art. I confess that I mostly draw fanart despite having OCs; I see it as my way of giving thanks to all the creative worlds out there that have kept me smiling in my darkest times.
When did you first play Spyro the Dragon and what were your feelings about it at the time? How does it make you feel now?
I played my first Spyro game on Christmas of 2002, the year that Spyro: Enter the Dragonfly came out and it ended up in my Christmas presents. Yes, I started out on Spyro with THAT game of all games, but when I was a kid, I loved it and especially the little purple dragon exploring all of the fun, colorful environments. I loved it so much that I used some of my Christmas money to immediately buy Spyro 2 about two weeks later. Nowadays, I still love these games with all of my heart, believe them to be amazing masterpieces of level and character design (the color palettes in the PS1 games alone are so artistically inspiring!), and replay the first five console games once a year if I can. Yes, even Enter the Dragonfly.
Would you say Spyro has influenced your style today and if it has, how so?
Yes, I would definitely say so! I feel like the use of color in those games have really influenced how I approach color in my own pieces. The character designs themselves probably helped influence how I draw anthro characters too, especially since I had my fair share of fancharacters for this series back in the day, haha.
What are your favorites from the series? Such as level, character, song, and overall favorite game?
Favorite levels from the first three Spyro games is easily anything in the Dream Weavers world, with all that delightful, creative whimsy and those soft purples and oranges. Lofty Castle is a delight and so is Dark Passage and Jacques. Favorite character is Ripto, just from how hilarious it is that this short, orange reptile with a well-dressed, urbane sense of style is so perpetually angry and yelling at anything and everything. Favorite song is the opening theme of Spyro 1, easily. Favorite game? This is actually kinda tough, because while I feel the first Spyro the Dragon had the best levels and theme (and I love saving all the dragons over collecting orbs and eggs), Spyro 2 is the most enjoyable to replay and I love all the characters and series mainstays introduced in that game. Spyro 1 had the dragons, sure, but Spyro 2 has Moneybags. Where would we be without Moneybags?
Other comments or thoughts about the zine or Spyro?
I am absolutely overjoyed that I was selected for this, and for such a good cause too! This really means the world to me that I can use my art to help those less fortunate in even the smallest of ways! As for Spyro, one day my dad "rigged" a county fair game where the prize was a stuffed Spyro by having the entire family sit in all the booths so that, regardless of who won, we'd get the Spyro. That was a real fond moment in my life, and I still own that poorly stuffed carnival toy to this day.

Treating What’s Important: Health Care Providers as a Secondary Group
Four our health communication plan, we chose Healthcare Providers (HCPs) as a secondary group. Healthcare providers often act as gatekeepers to accessing resources for mental health care, and there are a lot of structural, interpersonal, and cultural factors that can limit how much someone is able to discuss their mental health with a medical professional. From our initial research, we chose to further segment this group into primary care providers, who are often able to have early discussions about feelings and mental health experiences, as well as mental health specialists for the role they play in both emergency management and continuity of care. Additionally, while the percentage of HC providers who identify as a racial & ethnic minority is increasing in Harlem, there are still far fewer providers of color than the general population of Harlem. Further strategies are needed to inform White providers of how to be culturally competent physicians and develop strong relationships with patients from medically under-served communities.
Tumblr media
Tip: For segmentation of professions, consider both demographic information (gender, race, age, etc) as well as specializations within the field. Different specialties will likely have different levels of knowledge and unique needs within the group.
With healthcare providers, two major barriers we identified in the research was a need for culturally competent care and to de-stigmatize conversations around mental health, framing it as more than just “feeling sad” or being “tired a lot.” By addressing both of these within our communication plan, we can empower HCPs  to have more resources to discuss mental health while also being able to better connect with patients from medically under-served communities across all areas of health and medicine. From our interviews, we found that many community-based mental health organizations have a small number of medical professionals that they work with, but these same individuals often work with multiple CBOs, whereas many providers in Harlem don’t have active partnerships within the community. By connecting HCPs  to CBOs, we can leverage these interactions to strengthen relationships within the community, and better support patients, providers, and CBOs to discuss, prevent, and treat mental health outcomes in Harlem.
Tumblr media
When considering HCPs as a secondary group, here are some things to consider:
Talk to people in the field when possible! This should include those actively practicing medicine, as well as those who work closely with HCPs, especially as it relates to your other audience groups.
How do established medical practice and clinical standards govern the way HCPs respond to/treat your health issue? This will indicate if you need a policy change, cultural change, or interpersonal support for your program
How has this group changed over time in your specific area? How might these changes and trends affect your program activities and outreach?
