that ghazal in your sidebar is lovely. do u have a favorite? :)
It’s called “shayari”, ghazals are poems set to music. Though technically both are poetry in itself~Thanks tho :3
Can’t remember the Ultimate Favorite but i remember this Farsi one which is a fav too.“Agar firdaus bar roo-e zameen ast, Hameen ast-o hameen ast-o hameen ast.”(Amir Khusrau)
“If there exists paradise on the face of earth,It is here, it is here, it is here.”
[It’s a popular piece used in different contexts -  (usually) for a beautiful place or a beautiful feeling, like being home or in the arms of a lover or holding a child’s hand..etc.Jahangir was so awed by Kashmir that he said this couplet in reaction and even got it inscribed in the “Shalimar Bagh” of Srinagar. It got popular since then (well, technically from his autobiography). It is also said his son, Shah Jahan, also inscribed this quote in his Diwan-i-khas right above the place where the famous Peacock Throne was said to have stood, though there’s no proof of it.]
