Take this stuff on Shoto’s pro hero verse from like September? Under the cut!

Shoto wants to help guide people on a good path, being more like a symbol of hope?

Obviously Izuku is symbol of peace n stuff but Shoto just wants to give people hope in bad situations.

Shoto and Izuku are a hero team and work together a lot of the time. This is because Izuku realises he can’t shoulder the burden of symbol of peace alone, so it’s easier to work with someone else - despite this, Shoto is not recognised in the same light as Izuku, being more of a background supporter a lot of the time.

At around 23 I can guess Izuku would probably be no 1 - Shoto would be the no 4, while Bakugo the no 3, I feel Endeavor is probably in no 2 spot unless retired (they’ll overtake him eventually) and Hawks I’d put down at no 5 maybe? Bakugo and Shoto are probably just stronger than him at this point-

Shoto is well known because he’s often on patrol but also because he often goes to schools, whether to talk to people about domestic abuse/mental health or to talk to children and encourage them (he’s especially careful with encouraging any quirkless children)

Shoto is really good at recognising signs of abuse and helping those in such situations.

Due to this, he builds his career mostly off dealing with situations of domestic abuse where volatile quirks, powerful quirks or villains are involved - i.e getting the victim away from the situation and dealing with the attacker in the case the police are unable to. He’s good at apprehending others and it’s rare he’d decline as it is something personal to him.

When Shoto got into the top 10, he was an inconsolable mess because he didn’t think he deserved it at all. Like crying his eyes out while hugging his friends kind of inconsolable. He’d just be really happy- He also had no clue he was so recognised considering for most of his early career he didn’t do a ton of patrols (maybe three times a week) and he was rarely involved in villain fights.

Eventually he does get more involved though?

Also, I can imagine rankings would be announced at some kind of award ceremony thing, so Shoto would probably also cry at that too and Izuku having to (very awkwardly) explain he’s just happy.

Because he never cries for any other reasons, he’s really embarrassed about crying in public too.

In an interview, if Shoto were asked how he and Izuku became friends, he would explain the sports festival (although he’d omit the parts about Endeavor, simply saying he was irrationally angry at the time over some circumstances)

Shoto, on Izuku: “He’s the first person who truly accepted me for who I was and encouraged me. He’s always been my inspiration.”

When Endeavor retires, Shoto would take the no 3 spot and Bakugo, the no 2 spot (I can imagine Endeavor would retire probably a decade or less into Shoto’s career considering Enji is probably like 40 or older in canon? I  think by the time Shoto turned 27, Enji would either be retired or wouldn’t be doing hero work constantly, maybe a couple times a week or something big here and there.) 

After this, they become nicknamed as the disaster trio because the entire public knows they are emotional disasters - Midoriya is always crying (he cries a lot in canon ok), Bakugo still can’t handle his anger too well and Shoto just can’t deal with the idea of people actually liking him and wanting him to succeed as a hero.

Shoto would only be open about his past AFTER Endeavor’s retirement, not wanting to tarnish the name of a serving hero.

That, and Shoto is on somewhat good terms with Enji. While they aren’t extremely close and Shoto is scared to be alone with him, he will spend time with his father so long as someone else is there (like Natsuo, Fuyumi, Izuku etc)

The reason Shoto chose to help people in abuse situations was because he didn’t want anyone to end up like him.

Until Enji’s retirement, he’d simply explain his motivation as having been in a bad place when he was younger - which is true.

Actual explanation from Shoto: “Someone once helped me while I was in a bad place and if he hadn’t been there and told me what he did, I don’t think I’d be a hero. I was inspired by his words and attitude, so I decided to guide people too, to be the hero I had needed. In the end, I realised problems like negative emotions are often neglected, leading people to villainy. I want to be able to help people get out of those situations, ones no other heroes - and the police - are unable or unwilling to deal with. To me, being a hero is helping people no matter what and uncovering the truth, even if everything seems fine at surface level.”

obviously he’s talking about Izuku.

Izuku had been a large influence on Shoto’s decision on what kind of hero he wanted to be, He didn’t want to be a pillar of strength like All Might, Endeavor and Izuku.

He wanted to be a light in the darkness of the world - even if someone had lost all faith in heroes, Shoto wanted to be their hero.

Shoto is often called to disaster zones as his quirk is very useful for treating hypothermia and heatstroke. He can also use ice pillars to lift rubble and turn ice into water to help those who may be dehydrated.

During rescue type things like this, he often works with Uraraka

Shoto is sometimes assigned on high priority investigations as back up when it comes to powerful villains or groups of organised crime. 

However, he cares most about rescue (as helping those who are abused can technically be counted as rescue, really)

Shoto spent a year working under Endeavor before he, Midoriya and Bakugo opened their own hero agency. They also extended the offer to their classmates (and Shinso, and class 1-B, Shinso would be a pro hero too fight me).

The only person they didn’t invite was Iida due to his family already having an agency.

The agency would not count anyone as sidekicks, but as individual heroes operating alongside a hero team - those under the agency have equal positions to those in charge and are able to move more freely. As well, it makes it easier for them to call back up if needed (especially if a specific pro in the agency would be good for it)

Shoto probably gets injured often due to the types of situations he diffuses.

At the age of 26, he took up a teaching position at UA for heroics, although he is only on campus during class times - when he isn’t teaching hero course students, Shoto is doing his own work as a pro hero (he also does this on evenings and weekends)

At one point, Shoto gets involved in a fight between two students with powerful quirks. He ends up unconscious and while he’s fine, he is quite out of it. 

he shows up the next day regardless.

Instead of being mad at the two who were fighting, he decides to talk to them about it after class instead. He explains it is dangerous to fight like that (especially with quirks) and instead of punishing them, helps to resolve the situation.

Shoto’s gotten better at controlling his own emotions at this point, really.

Shoto is often told by Bakugo to be more assertive and harsh when it comes to things like that, but Shoto just responds by saying it’s better to be calm and kind rather than angry at first. (this probably angers Bakugo a little)

He does say if it happens again, he’ll be more stern over it.

He’s easily a favourite. He brings his students cake on their birthdays when possible, he supports them emotionally as best he can, he treats them as if they’re his own children (and cries at their graduation, proceeding to blame Izuku for having contagious crying habits)

The reason he’s so thankful for Izuku during the sports festival isn’t just bc Izuku inspired him - it’s because he realised he could have died if he kept refusing to use his fire during combat. As such, he feels he owed Izuku his life for a short while.

He wants his work to be his legacy and for future heroes to follow his example.

Whenever he’s in trouble, Izuku is his go-to for back up. He’s the first person Shoto thinks of when he thinks about help.

Probably one of the most eligible pro hero bachelors if that’s even a thing.

Celebrity crush material for definite - good work, nice personality and pretty face, after all.

He also sleep talks a lot about soba and cats. He falls asleep in a lot of odd places.

Reminder that Shoto is demiromantic.

He does not fall in love with people he has just met. He needs time to love someone because he needs to TRUST them before he can even think of loving them - this is why many of the ships on my blog are with his classmates or OCs that he has had extensive interaction with.

Part of this, yes, is because that’s what I’m like. However, part of it is because he is a victim of abuse, he hasn’t had many people he could trust in past and none of them were outside of his family. He finds social interaction difficult enough, we all know how he doesn’t know how to comfort others (past giving them his food), so it’s only natural he’d be scared of loving someone he didn’t know well and didn’t trust.

He needs to know someone won’t hurt him, won’t abandon him completely, won’t emotionally/physically/verbally abuse him BEFORE he can even think of a romantic relationship with them.

In short: your character must be his friend before anything else.

Shoto is aware how odd people find it that he only ever eats soba, but the reason he does that is because he worries if he tries something else, he won’t like it and people will be upset with him for not liking - but he’s slowly trying new things with the guidance of his friends!

The reason it reminds me of him is because he is Endeavor’s prized son, of which Shoto is trying to escape - so by changing who he is, who he wants to be, he bears little resemblance to being Enji’s ‘golden child’, a king/prince in the eyes of his father when it came to usefulness. It also kind of reminds me of how he once thought he was the best, but lost such arrogance - not only that, but how he wants to remember what it was like to be a child.

Headcanon dump. Feel free to disagree, but if you do and approach me about it, please be nice?

Shoto is asexual demiromantic. This means he has no interest in sexual stuff in general and he will only be romantically attracted to people he feels close to.

I will carry the idea into threads - and I do, a lot - that the more threads I have with someone, the closer they are (while all are separate verses, if it’s with the same blog, then it counts as him feeling closer to certain class members as the thread continues/we start new threads). This closeness does carry from my canon verse into the pro hero verse (however, other verses are only influenced by what happens in that specific verse).

He actually regrets his choices when it comes to his hero outfits but he feels it would be more effort than it’s worth to change it - although, he does change to a nicer looking outfit for pro hero verse. I’ll probably do a rough sketch of my idea but I cannot draw so bear with me when I do that one.

While he had bad fashion sense - for the most part - at the start of highschool, by third year he’s learned how to dress in a way that’s both classy and casual (like button-down shirts with jeans, for example).

While Shoto isn’t really a fan of jewellery and accessories, he can often be found wearing flower crowns after the end of first year.

He and Uraraka probably made friendship bracelets for the izucrew and other friends - Asui, Iida, Midoriya and Momo all have bracelets from the two. (Shoto has probably given bracelets to Kaminari, Mina and several OCs as well, just from threads/interactions with ones he classes as friends).

Shoto loves physical affection, but he gets overwhelmed very easily and will shy away from it in public too. However, he enjoys holding hands with his friends, short hugs etc etc.

Upon graduation, Shoto got keychains for his friends. Two for each of them. One keychain was a picture of them all and the other was a cartoon cat, a different colour for each person corresponding to the colours he associates with them.

Shoto has a colour he associates with everyone he knows. For his mother, it’s a pristine white, for his father a fiery orange, for Midoriya forest green etc etc. Often, gifts given for birthdays/christmas and the like to those friends have to do with that colour, even if he never actually says anything about it.

Shoto finds comfort in music and when he feels anxious or overwhelmed, he usually puts headphones on and listens to his favourite bands. He feels the messages from music and relatable lyrics help him cope with his past and his feelings.

He also has a song he associates with each of his classmates/teachers, but he would never tell them what it was.

While he never really knew Touya, he does miss him - more in the sense he misses the brotherly relationship they could have had.

He is good with words, but only when writing - he can phrase things in beautiful, descriptive ways while writing them, but actually speaking? he stuggles a lot with it at times.

He has a habit of denying anything troubles him when confronted about it. He may give offhanded comments then and again that hint at his past, but when someone directly confronts him, he can feel panicked, so therefore denies it and attempts to change the conversation topic.

He does want to forgive his father, despite his intense hatred towards him, but he still feels like his father isn’t trying hard enough or doing enough to fix their family. In the end, while he doesn’t want much to do with the man, he wouldn’t really completely cast him aside either as he holds onto the childish hope that his father truly is going to change for the better and at some point, he’ll be able to forgive him.

This does not mean he doesn’t hate him, it just means he wants to stop hating him - and just because he forgives him doesn’t mean he’ll forget either. 

If his father went back to abusive habits after Shoto finally got over it, he’d have no problem cutting Endeavor out of his life completely. He just believes that everyone deserves a second chance, even if they’ve done terrible things.

He also doesn’t hate his father as much as he thinks he does, he realised that when he felt distressed at the idea of him dying. He knows he still harbours an intense hate, but it doesn’t mean he wishes for Endeavor to be hurt/killed. The idea of that actually upsets him a lot.

He just rules it off as being that Endeavor is still his family, no matter what (he would feel the same way about Dabi, for example, if Dabi turned out to be Toya. He doesn’t want his family to be hurt even if they’ve done pretty terrible things that Shoto couldn’t forgive).

This does NOT mean the mun is an Endeavor apologist or anything, I’m just trying to be realistic to a point - no matter how much you hate someone who is family, you can still feel upset at the idea of anything bad happening to them. This is just how complex human emotion actually is. I don’t think Endeavor has redeemed himself or is anywhere close during the canon time, but Shoto wouldn’t be able to hold onto that hatred forever. No one can hold onto hatred forever, no matter how intense.

I don’t excuse what he has done nor do I condone/tolerate it either, I am aware of the extent of his abuse towards Shoto and his family, I am aware it was TERRIBLE and UNFORGIVABLE, but that doesn’t mean there’s no possibility of him being forgiven, only that it would take a hell of a lot of work, time and effort.

It is unhealthy to hold onto hatred and the past as much as Shoto does, which is he fully of aware of, hence why I portray him as someone who WANTS to forgive Endeavor but feels as if he CAN’T in the current time. It’s the same for Dabi - he (and the mun) acknowledge the mistakes made, crimes etc and that there are consequences as their should be.

I just wanted to clarify that before people accuse me of being an apologist/condoning and tolerating abuse because honestly, I really really do not. As someone who has faced that sort of thing as a child, I understand the things such harm can cause (although not on the same level as Shoto) and I understand how hard forgiveness is when it comes to it.

So please, no hate for that. It’s just what I, personally, believe and what I feel the muse would think too. Anyone who doesn’t like it? Don’t send me hate, you don’t have to agree or pay attention to that as it isn’t really in any threads. If it’s that much of a problem for anyone, I’d rather you unfollow and block though. I don’t want to be involved in anything just bc of a couple headcanons. It’s completely valid if people have headcanons that are the complete opposite, I support that stuff entirely as well.

Anyway back to the headcanons:

In his dorm, Shoto has several boxes of stationary with cute, novelty things. For example, butterfly rubbers, paw print covered pencils etc etc. He has a soft spot for adorable things.

He chose the hero name Lacuna half way through second year after spending some time researching interesting words (because he was bored). Lacuna means “missing piece” and he feels that symbolises how he felt like he was missing something his whole life, after his mother was sent away and such.

He eventually chose his full title to be “The Guiding Hero: Lacuna” as he wants to be a hero who guides others, who helps with bad situations - a dependable person people feel they can go to outside of fighting villains and rescue operations.

After graduation, he spent a year working at Endeavor Hero Agency before leaving and starting his own agency. He plans to merge both when his father retires if Endeavor Hero Agency is left to him. Shoto has no plans to take his father’s hero name when he does retire, as he wants to be a separate person - his own person.

He would explain as much to his father if he felt it was important to or he was asked to take up the name of Endeavor at a later date.

He loves pale blues more than any other colour and often decorates rooms using it (he painted all the walls in his first apartment blue).

The reason he tries to excel at things and work hard is because he fears being thought of as a disappointment by anything.
