I know my fellow Californians are still fascinated by the dark orange color of the sky, but I have had quite enough. While I wait impatiently for FedEx to redeliver (MY HOUSE EXISTS AND I AM IN IT), I will distract you with a toe-up “flap and gusset” sock heel. This is the one @kateatherleyknits teaches in her Custom Socks book, and it is my current favorite: simple to calculate, easy to memorize the steps, and a “seamless” knitting experience with no breaking of working yarn or picking up stitches. You can see it fits just as nicely on my longer foot (left) and my higher arch (right). And it doesn’t even really mess up the striping on these ones either.
