How would Lloyd and princess spend the holidays together ? Are they the types to go look at the pretty lights the city has downtown? Would Lloyd help her with decorations, etc. As always I absolutely adore these two and the way you write them 🥰🥰 thank you again for writing this series ❤️❤️
They decorate the house together because Princess insists on it. She doesn’t buy the line that he’s “never really been into Christmas.” It’s clear that he just never had anyone to celebrate it with and this year, things are different. Princess makes it her mission to show Lloyd how Christmas should be.
He doesn’t have any Christmas decor, but that’s fine, because it means a trip to the store. She gets a tree, warm toned multicolored lights, stockings for his fireplace, and a welcome mat that says “Merry Christmas.” Lloyd swaps it for the one that says “Merry Christmas, Ya Filthy Animal.” She gets five wreaths, one for the front door and others for his front windows. He’s unfamiliar with the idea of window wreaths but when you hang them up, he has to admire how it looks. His house has never looked so beautiful.
Inspiration photo for the wreaths:
Tumblr media
He particularly enjoys the smell of the decorative bowls of pinecones and tree bark you set out. The bough of holly wrapped around his bannister does look very nice. He even makes a note of the name of the special candles you ordered. They make the whole house smell like vanilla pound cake, and he’s totally stocking up on those.
These are all pre-holiday things, though. For the actual holiday, Lloyd would want to take a vacation.
Princess assumes this means somewhere sunny and warm with lots of palm trees, so she’s totally down. But no… he wants to go skiing in Zermatt.
Where Lloyd wants to go:
Tumblr media
Princess’ reaction:
Tumblr media
By the time she realizes the disconnect, she’s already agreed to go.
While Lloyd knows Princess isn’t the most athletic person in the world, he wasn’t expecting her to be this bad on skis. Efforts to teach her skiing are not successful. What the heck does “you turn with your toes,” mean? Finally, she kicks him out of the teacher role and signs up for a ski lesson package with an instructor.
Lloyd hits the black slopes and enjoys the next few days of solo skiing. At the end of the week he’s shocked to find that Princess swapped her ski rental for a snowboard. And she’s good at it. She’s already had enough practice to manage the smaller green slopes. On one of their final days on the mountain, he takes her down the smaller hills, and realizes she’s far more suited to snowboarding than she ever was to skiing.
He willingly admits that he should never try to teach anyone to ski again.
The problem is, Lloyd’s been skiing since he was eight years old. Growing up in Idaho it was a school sponsored program. He was on the football team, the wrestling team and participated in the ski club, though he never competed in winter sports competitions. His natural athleticism prevents him from understanding the struggles of someone like Princess. But in the end, it worked out. He realizes that she would have liked a warmer vacation due to all the ski lesson venting sessions that occurred when she fell down. And she fell down a lot during the first few days, so he really got an earful.
He proposes a Valentine’s Day trip to Fiji.
Princess spends the last few days in town, taking Lloyd’s credit card for a spin. To get revenge for the awful ski lessons he gave her, she hits the Max Mara store, Kate Spade, Prada, and a high end jewelry store run by a local artisan. Lloyd is amused by the amount Princess considers “punishment.”
It’s a quarter of what he dropped on the heli-skiing day trip he’s taking tomorrow.
They walk arm in arm through the village, strung with multicolored lights, and then Lloyd surprises her with a gondola ride up to the Matterhorn Glacier. After his heli-skiing trip, he takes her ice skating, which is another thing she’s never done. While he’s teaching her to balance and use her toe pick, Princess realizes he’s trying to give her all the experiences her family couldn’t afford when she was a kid. And this is the first real vacation she’s ever been on. It’s also the first time she’s used her passport for recreational purposes.
On Christmas Eve, he takes her to a Michelin star restaurant. She doesn’t have to cook or do the dishes. There’s no crying babies. She doesn’t have any siblings who want her to find their glove and hat and by the way: did she remember where they put the sled last year? This year she relaxes and spends Christmas Day in bed with Lloyd. He’s in a romantic mood. The kind that involves soaking in the in-room hot tub and eating chocolate covered strawberries with champagne. He makes love to her in the morning, followed by a long nap. He does it again at noon, twice before dinner, and half the night. For their last day in Switzerland he has another surprise in store. They take the Glacier Express around Mt. Matterhorn.
The Glacier Express:
Tumblr media
He finds he doesn’t mind the slow speed of travel. Taking seven hours to travel 180 miles isn’t usually his idea of a good time. But in this instance, watching you enjoy yourself for seven hours straight makes it a very good time. Combined with the excellent food and the way you cuddle against him during the trip, he’s already thinking about making this a yearly thing. Unless you want to make Fiji your Christmas tradition instead, which he would understand.
All in all, this year is by far the best Christmas he’s ever had.

Hi
For the wip game
What about the ski lodge au ? Thank you
💜
From WIP Game
Ski Lodge AU is a collaborative AU between @wahwahwashbear and myself. He posed the idea of ski patroller Joey who is forced to babysit Seto and his rich frienemies on their annual ski trip where they rent out a luxury chalet and do over-the-top shit like heli skiing. Joey and Seto start to grow close and fall for each other over the course of the trip.
Here's a snippet. I didn't get very far tbh.
---
"Seto Kaiba—"
Joey couldn't help but perk at the name. Somehow, the tech CEO was the most tolerable of the bunch? He wasn't exactly friendly, but he didn't go out of his way to antagonize ski patrol or other resort staff like his peers. As far as pretty faces went, Joey knew which one he rather be stuck babysitting all day.
"His brother, Mokuba Kaiba's also coming. And rounding out the group this year is Jagger Princeton."
Joey pulled a face. An elbow ribbed him and he looked to his left to find his buddy, Tristan, mirroring his expression. Who the hell named their kid Jagger, they both silently asked each other.
Taylor continued, "They're requesting the same arrangement as previous years. Two on-call patrol members to accompany their group for the duration of their stay. But given that they will be heliskiing, at least one person has to be a Senior Patroller, preferably with backcountry experience."
Again, Tristan elbowed him. There were only four Senior Patrollers in their chapter, Joey included. And of the four, he had the most wilderness survival skills under his belt.
"Pay's time and a half for the two weeks since it includes Christmas. Room is available at the chalet if you don't want to commute each day, but you'll be sharing with each other. Any questions?"
A tentative hand rose above the group. It was one of the newbies, straight out of college. "Isn't that like special treatment? I mean, we're here for everyone's safety, not just theirs, right? It doesn't seem fair to monopolize two of us for the eight of them."
"Since when do rules apply to the rich and obnoxious?" snorted Tristan.
Taylor was far more diplomatic in his response. That was why he was Patrol Director. "Yes, this is not how we usually operate. But we can't do our job effectively if we don't maintain our partnerships with the mountain's resorts. The management that owns the Sunridge chalet has kindly requested this accommodation." He paused for a second before adding, "And the guests have promised a generous donation to our chapter as thanks."
There it was. Money spoke at the end of the day.

Is Heli-Skiing Dangerous? Here's What You Should Know
Heli-skiing, also known as helicopter skiing, is a popular extreme sport that involves being dropped off by a helicopter on a remote mountain peak and skiing down untouched, backcountry terrain. While it may sound like a thrilling and unique experience, many people wonder if heli-skiing is safe. In this article, we will explore the risks and safety measures associated with heli-skiing.
Understanding the Risks
Heli-skiing involves skiing in remote and uncontrolled areas, which can pose a variety of risks. These risks include avalanches, tree wells, and other natural hazards. Additionally, the terrain is often steep and challenging, making it more difficult for skiers to control their speed and direction. This can lead to falls and collisions with trees or other obstacles.
Safety Measures
Despite the risks, heli-skiing companies take extensive safety measures to ensure the well-being of their clients. Before embarking on a heli-skiing trip, participants are required to attend a safety briefing where they are educated on the potential hazards and how to avoid them. They are also provided with avalanche safety equipment, including a transceiver, shovel, and probe, and are trained on how to use them.
Heli-skiing guides are highly trained and experienced in backcountry skiing and are equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to navigate through challenging terrain. They also constantly monitor weather conditions and avalanche risks to ensure the safety of their clients.
Choosing a Reputable Company
When considering a heli-skiing trip, it is important to choose a reputable company with a good safety record. Do your research and read reviews from previous clients to get an idea of their experiences. Look for companies that have certified guides and adhere to strict safety protocols.
Personal Responsibility
While heli-skiing companies take all necessary precautions, it is ultimately the responsibility of the individual to make safe decisions while on the mountain. This includes following the instructions of the guide, staying within the designated boundaries, and being aware of your own abilities and limitations. It is also important to communicate any concerns or discomfort to the guide.
The Statistics
According to the National Ski Areas Association, the fatality rate for heli-skiing is 0.14 per 100,000 skier visits, which is significantly lower than the fatality rate for traditional skiing. However, it is important to note that heli-skiing is still an extreme sport and carries inherent risks.
Conclusion
In conclusion, heli-skiing can be a thrilling and unforgettable experience, but it is not without its risks. By understanding the potential hazards and taking necessary precautions, you can minimize the risks and have a safe and enjoyable heli-skiing trip. Remember to always choose a reputable company, follow the instructions of your guide, and take personal responsibility for your own safety. Have you ever been heli-skiing? Share your experience in the comments below.

GULMARG
Tumblr media
The Meadow of Flowers
It may be possible to take a tourist map of Kashmir and replace it with a picture of Gulmarg. Gulmarg is the Kashmir valley's most famous and primary tourist destination, especially in the winter when the temperature is low and the snow is soft and powdery. Gulmarg is the location for all the adventure activities from skiing, heli-skiing, and snowboarding, to high-altitude golf, trekking, and riding the world-famous gondola.
Gulmarg is an open meadow surrounded by lovely thick pine forests and in the spring the grassy slopes are covered with wildflowers, bluebells, daisies, forget-me-nots, and butter cups. Gulmarg lies under the majestic Mount Apharwat (4511m) in the northeast of the Pir-Panjal range about 55 km from Srinagar. The beautiful valley of Gulmarg is about 3km in length (meaning you can easily walk to most places), crescent-shaped, and just less than 1km wide. The drive to Gulmarg itself is beautiful, passing through avenues of poplar trees and rice fields until you begin your steep ascent through majestic pines. Gulmarg can be enjoyed on a day trip with a picnic and a ride in the gondola. Or come here to relax and ski, and with the opening of the second phase of the gondola in 2005, it is now a world-class destination for skiers of all abilities. Others come to hike from Gulmarg to other lush locations in the Kashmir valley such as the famous and most beautiful meadow of Tosamaidan. When both stages of the gondola are operational you can journey up to the Apharwat station for amazing views and photo opportunities of the valley and the Kishtwar and Himalayan ranges.
The French firm Poma designed the gondola and at 12992ft is considered the highest in the world. The beauty of all the white snow piling up around the trees and hills is a beautiful sight and should not be missed if you are in Kashmir in the winter.
Gulmarg Sky Gondola
By far and away the most famous attraction for tourists is the Gulmarg gondola taking you through snow and magnificent forest to the top of the world. Prices for the first phase are INR 740 per ticket and INR 940 for the second phase, INR, 1690 for both.
Tumblr media
Winter Activities
The best months for skiing in Gulmarg are December to February. Although snow does come from mid-November and can last to the first weeks of April. The G4 station of the cabal car (gondola) takes you up to the height of 3850m. From here you can either ski down to Gulmarg or Tamgmarg. The Indian Institute of Skiing and Mountaineering offers 14-day ski courses in the winter for INR 10,000
Heli Skiing in Gulmarg Started in 2010, heli-skiing in Gulmarg can become a lifetime experience, taking you anywhere in the 20000 sq. km of the Pir Panjal range of the Himalayas. The freshest and most daring adventure in the Indian Himalayas awaits you! There is only one company operating at Gulmarg and all the information is on their website. www.kashmirheliski.in
Hot Air Ballooning
The Indian Institute of Skiing and Mountaineering also offer Hot Air Ballooning packages for INR 9000.
Summer Activities Hiking to frozen Alapathor Lake, Alapathor Lake is around an hour's uphill climb from G4 station, (the top of the second stage of the gondola), situated at the foothills of the majestic Apharwat peak (4500m).
The lake remains frozen till the end of June, so the best time to visit the lake is from July to early November, an early encounter is not recommended. The turquoise blue color of the lake under the blue sky is a jewel and looks simply divine. Up at this altitude with the wind, snow, and looming mountain peaks, you are simply left in awe at the beauty of God and nature.
Khilanmarg
Located 6.5 km from Gulmarg, there is another beautiful meadow, Khilanmarg, lying at 2000ft higher than Gulmarg at the foot of Mt Apharwat. During the ascent, you will be greeted by fresh wildflowers the small beauty welcoming you as you walk. The magnificent panorama of the inner Himalayan range can be enjoyed from this place. To the north the colossal Nanga Parbat, the east Mt Harmoukh, and Mahadev, the mighty guardian of Srinagar. You will also be able to spy Kolohai rising over the Lidder Valley and maybe even the royal couple of the Suru Valley, Nun, and Kun.
Golfing
Golfing was brought to Gulmarg by the British, who used this location as a summer getaway and you can defl their influence even today. See Golf in Kashmir's section.
You can reach Gulmarg directly from Srinagar airport by taxi (INR 4000).
Trekking in Gulmarg
Tangmarg to Tosamaidan (12 km) and Poonch

Grade: Moderate

Best Time: June to October
Day 01 Srinagar to Drung (average driving time of 2 hours) Drung can be reached by taxi or bus from Srinagar. The Ultimate Guide to Heli Skiing: Elevate Your Winter Adventure
For thrill-seekers and skiing enthusiasts, heli skiing presents an unparalleled opportunity to experience the thrill of skiing on pristine, untouched snow. Whether you are a seasoned heli skier, new to heli-skiing, or intrigued by the concept of heliski adventures, this guide is designed to provide you with in-depth insights into the world of heli skiing. We will also explore Alaska heli skiing and how it stands out as a premier destination for these exhilarating experiences.
Understanding Heli Skiing
Heli skiing involves being transported by helicopter to remote mountain areas where traditional ski lifts cannot reach. This method allows skiers to access fresh, untracked powder and challenging terrains that are otherwise inaccessible. The adventure typically begins with a helicopter flight to a high-altitude location, followed by skiing down various slopes.
What Makes Heli Skiing Unique?
The essence of heli skiing lies in its ability to offer skiers an exclusive experience on unspoiled snow. Unlike conventional skiing, which relies on ski lifts and groomed trails, heli skiing provides:
Access to Remote Terrain: By using a helicopter, skiers can reach areas that are off-limits to traditional ski resorts. This means untouched snow, steep slopes, and challenging descents.
Fresh Powder: Since the terrain is untouched by ski lifts or crowds, the snow remains fresh and deep, offering a superior skiing experience.
Exclusivity: Heli skiing experiences are often limited to small groups, ensuring a more personalized and intimate adventure.
Becoming a Heli Skier
To become a proficient heli skier, it is essential to have a strong foundation in skiing skills and an understanding of the unique aspects of heli-skiing. Key considerations include:
Skill Level and Preparation
Advanced Skiing Skills: Heli skiing is not suitable for beginners. It requires advanced skiing techniques and the ability to navigate various terrains, including steep slopes and powder snow.
Physical Fitness: Skiers should be in excellent physical condition to handle the demands of backcountry skiing and the physical exertion involved in heli skiing.
Safety Training: Understanding avalanche safety and rescue techniques is crucial. Many heli-skiing operators provide safety briefings and equipment, including avalanche beacons, probes, and shovels.
Exploring Heliski Options
Choosing the Right Heliski Adventure
When planning a heliski trip, consider the following factors to ensure a fulfilling experience:
Destination: The choice of location can greatly impact your experience. Different regions offer varying terrains, snow conditions, and landscapes.
Guided Tours: Opt for operators who provide experienced guides. Guides ensure safety, offer local knowledge, and help navigate challenging terrain.
Group Size: Smaller groups often result in a more personalized experience. Verify the group size and ensure it aligns with your preference for a more exclusive adventure.
Why Alaska Heli Skiing Stands Out
Alaska heli skiing is renowned for its breathtaking landscapes and unparalleled skiing opportunities. Here’s why Alaska is a premier destination for heli skiing:
Epic Terrain and Snow Conditions
Diverse Landscapes: Alaska offers a range of terrains, from towering peaks to expansive glaciers, providing diverse options for skiers.
Consistent Snowfall: The region benefits from heavy snowfall, ensuring deep powder and exceptional skiing conditions throughout the season.
Scenic Beauty: The stunning natural beauty of Alaska, with its rugged mountains and pristine wilderness, enhances the overall skiing experience.
Renowned Operators and Experiences
Experienced Guides: Alaska is home to some of the most experienced and knowledgeable heli skiing guides, ensuring a safe and memorable adventure.
Exclusive Locations: Many Alaska heli skiing operators have access to exclusive locations, offering unique and untouched terrains for skiers.
Preparing for Your Heli Skiing Adventure
Proper preparation is key to ensuring a successful and enjoyable heli skiing experience. Here are essential steps to take before embarking on your adventure:
Booking Your Trip
Research Operators: Investigate different heli-skiing operators, read reviews, and compare offerings to find the best fit for your needs.
Understand Packages: Review what is included in the trip package, such as safety equipment, guide services, and accommodation.
Check Weather Conditions: Weather plays a crucial role in heli skiing. Ensure that your trip is scheduled during favorable conditions for the best experience.
Packing Essentials
Ski Equipment: Bring your own high-performance skis, poles, and boots, or check if the operator provides them.
Safety Gear: Pack essential safety gear, including an avalanche beacon, probe, and shovel.
Clothing: Wear layered clothing designed for cold and variable weather conditions. Include waterproof and windproof layers.
