things broke  occasionally.  occasionally  because  often  times  things  were  broken  to  begin  with.  it’s  annoying  sometimes  to  have  progress  halt  all  because  of  a  a  broken  tool,  dull  edge  or  snapped  strap  of  leather  breaking  his  pack,  but  fixes  cost  money  &  that’s  never  in  easy  supply.  still,  eadwulf,  ever  the  observer,  has  taken  to  noticing  when  the  worn  marks  on  something  dip  into  dangerous  territory.  there’s  not  often  much  he  wants  for  himself  aside  from  practical  purchases,  so  it’s  no  burden  to  slip into  a  shop  &  carefully  count  out  his  coins.  he  has  no  need  for  books,  but  he  does  have  need  for  new  laces.
