I would never deny science (though there are also valid reasons these studies might be dubious) but the thought of this theory is so fucking funny to me

bring back bloodletting 😍

#i don’t believe it because the studies didn’t account for the fact that #people who donate blood frequently are screened for diseases (thus they are healthier than average by default)#and probably live healthy lifestyles that allows them to afford to donate blood frequently #hence the longer lifespans of blood donors is a “’correlation =/= causation’ scenario. they’re just healthy people #but still. studies that accidentally support the theory of bloodletting without meaning to is so fucking funny
