u know what. i am tired of the idiots in the tags acting like alicent was out of line expecting aegon to be the heir when literally any other noble woman who married the king and gave him a son would expect the exact same thing

#like YES it is not the same bc alicent knew rhaenyra and she had that kinship with her etc etc #i am not saying elsewise BUT what i am saying is that literally any other woman would’ve expected #her firstborn son with the king to become his heir. it’s not an unreasonable expectation #never mind the fact that 1) alicent didn’t want to marry viserys 2) she didn’t ever want to be queen or have her son be heir #3) she was manipulated by otto from the get go #like i’m SORRY i love nyra i’m a feminist i think primogeniture is bullshit etc BUT !! the fact of the matter is that #westeros is an inherently misogynistic society that prefers male heirs to female ones #so she would’ve been p within her rights to want her son to be heir 😭
