Alright im asking you about the vision
ily <3
okay so basically this is only one of the many ways i see this going but Apollo and Hera meeting up after ToA, because she seeks him out: she grieves Jason and has no one else to turn to, and she wants to thank Apollo for honoring his memory and bringing his body back home. he’s like sure, okay. still don’t like you but i’ll give you a shoulder to cry on
Hera doesn’t understand Apollo on a fundamental level. he’s annoying and whiny and entitled and he’s her hated stepson and a much better son to Leto than Ares was to her.
and he refuses to be like his father. he refuses to take a wife just to humiliate her with countless affairs. he refuses to lay low. he refuses to allow apathy to rule his life. he’s always bright, always a star and always in her fucking way.
and Apollo hates Hera. truly it’s not like he can forgive her, right? all that she did to his mother. being somewhat of a snake in general. she’s a nasty, mean spirited, bitter woman. she wouldn’t give most demigods the time of the day.
She’s also the only goddess in the council extending compassion over what he’s been through, thanking him, and most importantly, recognizing how cruel her husband truly is.
So they bond over the two things they share: grief for Jason and hatred for Zeus. and the hatred for Zeus slowly starts to surpass the grief because Jason is one mortal boy, sixteen years of life. Zeus is an immortal god, and they have amassed thousands of debts that they feel they should make him pay.
Maybe they start courting the idea of a coup. Maybe they make half-assed plans. Maybe they only daydream about it. It really doesn’t matter because the seed is planted.
Making Zeus a cuckold wasn’t part of the equation, and the seed wasn’t really supposed to grow out that way, but gods is it satisfying. it’s satisfying and horrifying. i think they hate themselves a little more every time they do it. they are also terrified out of their minds and worried sick they might be found out but that’s just part of the game. And it is glorious, to stick it up to Zeus. they both look so good while they do it that, as Lorde said, they should be hanged in the Louvre.
and don’t ask me if it happens for a couple of months or if it happens for centuries, or if a coup is actually staged, or if they ever tell anyone, or if they fall in love, or if she starts finding his sense of humor anything but obnoxious, or if he writes a song about it, or if she ever feels as if he brought her back to life and dusted some of that depressing apathy off her, or if he manages to forgive her for what she did to Leto. i don’t know. some of it, maybe. the point is that it happens and they are both different for it.

For the wip asks, can you tell us about the herapollo snippets? 👀👀 I am intrigued
oh wellll
u already know all my reasons for shipping this couple so i won’t say much about my thought process for this “fic” (a few words of nonsense) but i’ll say the vibes they are supposed to be giving is “sexy and tense” so i hope i gave that
snippet: “Hera.”
He gets in front of her, preventing her from walking away. “May I please know what I’ve done to offend you?”
She shakes her head. “You have not offended me. I have simply realized how foolish we were being. Whatever happened between us must stop here.”
It’s not the full truth, but hopefully it’s enough to provoke a reaction out of him.
Apollo’s eyes glisten dangerously. He doesn’t seem at all put off by what she’s said. If anything, he’s even giddier than before.
“Oh, I see. You’re doing that thing.”

Do you have any Hera meta you would like to expand on , maybe in relation to what a relationship with Apollo would look like
anon… do u share my brand of insanity or are u just indulging me.
as far as Hera meta goes, my main point is that she’s not a villain in the true sense of the word: i think she’s tolerant of humans and the consideration she generally has for demigods is the consideration she’d have for ants. and honestly, she’s truly one of the few gods who’s entitled to feel that way, considering that she’s not responsible for siring them and would rather the others didn’t. obviously she has exceptions (demigods/humans she really likes and demigods/humans she really hates) and she’s wrong for taking revenge on Zeus’ mistresses but overall she’s just not that bad. ya feel me?
she’s also shown to feel genuine love for Jason which brings the count of people who have actually felt genuine love for Jason in canon up to three lmao (Piper-Leo-Hera). Nico exists in a grey area and you got to have some respect for that.
so anyways, she was actually pretty smart to swap Percy and Jason and she managed to keep it under the rug for longer than what would be expected. obviously it was wrong of her to use them as puppets for her strings but she’s not nearly alone in that. Apollo confirms in ToA that it is simply the way gods treat demigods. In my view, she sucks but she doesn’t Especially Sucks.
i also have endless sympathy for Hera having to tolerate her husband’s infidelity and (so clearly implied they might as well say it) abuse. she’s just. an unhappy woman, dare i say the unhappiest olympian god, and i think she has been so for so long that she has forgotten what anything else feels like. does she have friends? she certainly doesn’t have lovers, and while that may have initially been a commitment of love, it must have gotten pretty lonely over the years. she’s portrayed as icy and dignified and distant, the godliest of the gods, the one who most clearly represents the divide between mortals and immortals, and i ask myself how much of that is her real personality, and how much is the result of bitterness and isolation.
imagine: Hera regretting the fact that she’s made so many enemies once, when she felt untouchable and at her peak, because she’s just alone now, but what’s done is done so what can she do?
Hera never quite fitting in with other deities and really, who can blame them.
Hera having spent such a long time not even considering the idea of romantic love for herself and being so stunted that when she starts falling for Apollo, she doesn’t even notice. she simply cannot believe it. doesn’t even dare to think it.
she feels that feeling. the one where you a crush on someone after a really long time and you are all giddy and excited, not because you think it may be reciprocated, but because it’s new and thrilling to desire someone. she’s a high school girl wanting to be asked to prom.
now, let’s suppose it all happens because her and Apollo start sleeping together to spite Zeus as per my headcanon, and she inexplicably begins to want him for more than just revenge: she would would be so angry because she cares more, she’s far more into it, she’s utterly taken by him. at the end of the day, what they do is nothing particularly new for him (except for the “if he catches us i’m dead” part ig lmao) but it’s all brand new never heard before for her!! and her pride would be hurt!! but what are you gonna do about it!!
and now let’s suppose that at one point he starts caring back, and he treats her well and she hasn’t been treated well in centuries. so she gets carefree, and she gets reckless and she catches herself fixing her hair before the Olympian Council so that he sees her at her best!! imagine how humiliating that is for her!! she’s the Queen of Olympus she’s the Queen of the gods she’s the Ruler of the world and he’s literally just a guy!! she should hit him with her car!!
instead, she finds herself in his car, having been convinced to take a ride with the sun chariot for the first time ever while he’s babbling about… she doesn’t even know, talking horses trying to kill him? because that’s something that happened? apparently? and he has his stupid shades on and she feels like a high school girl actually getting asked to prom.
and for the unhappiest goddess of the Council, that’s a really magnificent feeling.

I've gotta say your Apollo/Hera ship has me intrigued
I am simultaneously strangely fascinated and slightly horrified by the idea (which ironically is exactly how I'd imagine both of them would react too lol)
Anyways, I've been rotating this ship in my head for several days, it's just so interesting
it’s a SLAY and personally i think it should somewhat feel wrong that’s the point it’s so wrong but they just can’t stop!!!

This is kinda cringe but I have this Hera/Apollo scenario in my head where Apollo is arguing with Ares and he at some point calls Apollo a motherfucker
And Apollo just. Has to use ALL his Willpower to not burst out laughing
LMAOOOOOO

Your idea of Hera and Apollo getting together has taken up home 24/7 in my brain. Hope you haven't said anything about this before but how do you think Artemis would take it?
omg🥹🥹 thank you anon!!
check below if you’re crazy like me <3
okay so i think artemis would take it… very badly. insanely badly, and not because Hera did what she did to Leto (tho maybe that too honestly) but because it’s a stupid-to-the-point-of-suicidal decision. worst decision to ever decision. if Zeus catches Hera and Apollo, they are both dead.
so in my view Artemis would mostly scold him and be annoying and try to convince him to stop being such a fucking idiot, and she would really struggle to understand where the hell is her brother coming from. i honestly don’t believe her first thought would be that he’s fallen in love or anything like that, she’d probably just think that he’s gone crazy out of resentment for his father or that he’s in a self-destructive mood or that lust can make people do dangerous things.
she would also be angry on behalf of Leto ofc and i’m not sure she’s personally fond of Hera.
definitely not a Herapollo truther😞
Apollo would ignore her like always and keep being an idiot. The end <3

how would leto feel about herapollo? would she and hera have a reconciliation before or after it becomes a thing?
many apologies for how late i’m replying to this😭💓
i feel like Apollo would just hide it from Leto for as long as possible because he’s (rightfully) ashamed of doing his mom so wrong.
you know I love Hera, but she was still horrid to Leto and I don’t think Leto could bring herself to forgive any of that.
I think she’d have a hard time forgiving Apollo too, upon finding out, tbh. obviously she eventually would, and tell him she’s worried that he’s doing something very stupid and isn’t able to forgive Hera completely but that she’ll still love him and support him.
for a while, though, she’d be genuinely upset and he’d be distraught. it would be the first time ever that his mother is angry at him and not immediately accommodating and graceful and loving, and that’d seriously tip him off. he’d even consider ending things with Hera but he’d be too into her by that point.
those would be tense moments for sure.

Alrighty then, tell us about your Hera/Apollo ship
I am genuinely curious
i think i said a lot about it here
but basically it would be all about them initially bonding over the fact that Zeus sucks and was very cruel to them specifically, and then having their little secret revenge that makes them feel alive (out of fear, lust, love-hate, whatever) but could also destroy their entire lives at any moment. and they can’t seem to stop.
also they really really can’t tell anyone (forbidden romance to an insane level) because she’s HERA and if anyone even gets an inkling she’s SCREWED and it’s not like Apollo would be much better off. also Leto and Artemis (and Hermes and Dionysus) would beat the shit out of him probably.
