BackStory

Ok I'ma bit this in bit and pieces since I have NO idea on how to explain it....

As a kiddo he was very chaotic, this led to him getting into a LOT of trouble. One day while messing around with a lighter this is when he was ten btw he decided to start burning blankets, but it went farther than blankets MUCH farther. He accidentally burnt down the house! The incident killed both of his parents leaving him to have between home to home. Eventually he ended up in a house in a small Italian town, it was in this town that he met Peppino's mom! He ended being VERY good friends with her, she was actually his first friend. I'm only stating this cus I needed to explain a little something that happens in @chatting-with-peppino :]

Ok now there's a little gap in the story that I'm working to fill, so I'ma go ahead and hop forward around 15 years.

One day while roaming the streets he found a poster, the poster was a help wanted poster to help build a tower.... Zeno, or as a human, Zaarib decided "know what? Let's do it! It's not like anybody else wants to give me a job...." It's at this job that he met PizzaHead! They ended up becoming best friends, Zaarib worked as the mechanic for PizzaHead, or as Zaarib called him, Totino! When working on Blood Sauce Dungeons Zaarib accidentally fell into one of the spaghetti sauce pools, and since this was a early build of the stage the sauce was EXTREMELY hot, skin melting, bone BURNING level hot. It was here that he died.... He ended up in hell because he did drugs and was an alcoholic as a human......

And now we are at the present! Where Zeno now spends his time with Peppino and Marhia. His death was around 30 years prior btw he's 50 years old in the present

Design traits

- he is a goat! When angry his horns will properly grow out and wrap around his ears

He is VERY chaotic, but not in the usual Noisy style, no it's the "stealing candy from babys" style, it's also really similar to Blitzø from Helva Boss

He doesn't really understand his emotions so he ends up resting to everything with anger or chaos. Surprisingly he regrets EVERYTHING that he does, he HATES being mean to others but it's all that he knows, he can't NOT be mean.

His literal only friend is Marhia. The only reason that he was able to become friends with her is because she is not fazed by ANY of his dumb shenanigans, also cus she is actually able to physically knock him out if he's doing something bad lafmo

He will purr aggressively when happy

He can shape shift! Altho he can only turn into a Fox, Goat, Deer, and Dog

He fukin LOVES pizza. Unfortunately he's always too scared/prideful to ask for any. Marhia usually ends up giving it to him anyways since Zeno usually just stares at her while she's eating

His personality is basically if you mixed Jax (tadc), Blitzø (Helva Boss), and Bill Cypher (gravity Falls)

Marhia generally really really likes him as a friend! Her main goal is to help redeem him! This is going by Hazben Hotel logic btw

xikeel: raw salmon. moreso than most other fish. knows a variety of pickling recipes, or uses acidity to render it pretty safe regardless of the source, even for humans.

ned: loves pastries. never developed much of a taste for vegetables but succumbed to the temptations of other plant products, especially when that product is used in sweet baked goods. (cannot bake to save his life btw)

shap-mota: dude just really likes mangos. and other fruits too (tho mostly soft + sweet ones, like banana, papaya, etc). he goes insane for fruit.

dusty: just likes a simple saltrice and kwama egg meal. when she lived in cyrodiil her meals were also usually grain + egg. not a big fan of meat.

i saw the lightning thief last night and hOLY SHIT! JUST HOLY SHIT! click the read more for my notes n stagedoor experience n shit. obvi SPOILERS

ACT ONE

THERE WERE T E A R S. -ares wears a tank top in son of poseidon and i died -sally and poseidon flirted like hell and POSEIDON SHOT FINGER GUNS AND POOR PERCY WAS SO AWKAWRDHFALHFJDASFJHK -in last day of summer percy tried reaching out for luke early but luke just walked away b4 mr d came on stage -luke grabs percy by the shirt when he says “good!” and shoves him back -gods i can’t get over james’ vocals. so good. SO GOOD. -luke took the banner w him when he stabbed percy and ran -bring on the monsters was actually a huge bop and i didn’t cry like i thought i would :0 -all in all i re-lost my voice screaming over this shit and i’m so grateful i got to see it

-so the stagedoor was super vague @ first bc i heard they weren’t doing it from a parent, but not even the staff were sure -so mom let me hang out by the stagedoor to see if ppl came out -chris came out first & i didn’t even recognize him til he was right in front of me (dramatic ass all bundled up like an eskimo) and he felt bad bc he couldn’t stay long and didn’t have a pen to sign anything but i couldn’ stop saying oH MY GOD OH MY GOD -then jorrel came out and was like “i can’t sign anything either but pics would be much quicker if you wanted them” and igOT TWO PICS WITH JORREL GUYS THIS IS NOT A DRILL -he was like “it’s so cold (findlay ohio) how do y’all live here?” and i was like “we don’t know” his dramatic southern californian ASS i loved him -i got a signature from sarah, and she was super sweet (she took the pic for me bc my fingers were numb from the cold. NEGATIVE WINDCHILL GUYS. Trinidad & Tobago - Carribean dreams...

I am so ‘vex’ that I won't be ‘liming’ in this beautiful place any more. I have been one lucky person to have been able to come here and hang with a local for almost a week. Jasmine has shown me her Trinidad and for that I am truly grateful. I have eaten so many local foods and they have all been fantastic. I have impressed the locals no end with my love of pepper sauce. The food here is tasty, spicy, and pretty much specific to this island. ‘Nah boy’, I am so very much enamoured with this country! One of my friends asked me if I had posted photos of the food. Truth be told, I don’t have a lot of pics, its not the most photogenic, and I seriously just wanted to eat it! I have partaken in the local speciality of doubles, with ‘plenty’ I might add - for those unaware that is with extra hot sauce and/or the mango bone that is infused with more pepper. Doubles is made with 2 baras filled with a curry channa (chick peas), it originally started as a breakfast food, progressing to be an anytime of the day food. It’s nutritious, tasty, and sold at street side vendors everywhere. Apparently even pizza and KFC taste better over here. This I can now say I agree with. Not sure if the food tastes better, or if its adding the ketchup, mustard, and pepper sauce that assists with the taste upgrade.....

Jas took me to the home of street food a little town called St James, and made sure I got to have saheena, (seriously amazing spicy little deep fried spinachy deliciousness ) as well as alloo pie...amongst other things. The locals only really eat out at restaurants on special occasions so that meant Jas cooked for me a lot of the time, and wow, just wow. I loved the chicken curry (brown), smoked herring, baigan choka, salt fish, home made roti, the fabulous goat curry.... I could rave on, but google Trinidadian food and you’ll understand. Jas lives out in the ‘country’ to the South of Port of Spain, the capital. We spent one evening heading around to some of the local rum bars. Rum bars are everywhere here. Beer is cold and cheap (and made here - love the Stag and the Carib!). I got to meet a few of the locals. Over here they will buy you a drink even for something as simple as the fact that they had to order over you slightly. At the bar. They loved to meet the ‘white girl from Austalia’, as out here they dont see a lot like me... The good thing is none of it was them just trying it on with the foreigner. These are genuinely lovely, polite, caring people. I had a dance off with some girls from Venezuela, and ended up drinking way more drinks then I paid for, eating (they sell bar snacks and’cutters’ only at the rum shops) some tasty wontons at one place, and some really tasty fried chicken at another. We then got some free food from another lovely local who bought us a drink, and also then brought us across some Souse and Corn soup from his food stall (across the road from the rum shop). Anyway I can now say I have tried Souse, not sure I’d eat it again, it was flavourful, but pigs trotters in broth with onion and cucumber is not on my list of things to eat again! I think I have decided that I need to come back to Aus and start my own Trini food store, I think it’d be a huge hit. Love the local beers. Love the rum here. Jas made sure I tasted the Puncheon rum - 75 % and you never get a hangover or upset stomach... I wanted to bring some home, but alas no room in the suitcase! One of the biggest things, I was not aware that this is the home where Angostura bitters is bottled. It was first created in the town called Angostura in Venezuela by a German surgeon stationed in Venezuela, originally produced there between 1824 - 1830. In 1875, the plant was moved to Trinidad and that’s where it’s secret recipe is still produced today.

One of the main religions here is Hindu, they have a giant (85 feet - 26m) statue of Lord Hanuman Murti located in the grounds of Dattatreya Yoga. The statue is the second tallest in the world, and the tallest one in the western hemisphere. When we pulled up onsite there was one man looking after the bookstore who allowed us to enter the grounds and take photos. We weren't allowed to enter the temple/yoga centre as we weren't appropriately dressed. The gentleman then showed us the book explaining how the statue had been built and answered all my gazillion questions. It was like having our own private tour! Jas then took me down the road a little further to show me the temple in the sea. This temple was originally constructed by hand 1947 -52 by Sewdass Sadhu an immigrant from India. It has since been added to, and tidied up, but it's an amazing place, and a site of pilgrimage for Hindus. It's also one of the designated locations for Hindus to perform the funeral pyre. Hindu religion requires that the dead are burned near water and a holy place.

Brian Lara is still HUGE here. He is a home town Trini boy so I completely understand. Cricket is massive, and the new Brian Lara stadium is a huge landmark. They had a cricket game on when I was here (Trinidad vs Jamaica) but they had sold out the tickets otherwise we would have gone.

I spent a day at the beautiful Maracas beach, located on the northern part of Trini. On the way there we stopped at the lookout and had a quick look at the food stalls. I got to try some ‘Chow’, a garlicky spicy way of preserving such things as Pineapple, apple, mango, cucumber... its yummy and not too spicy and I really appreciated the stall holder giving me a taste ( and Jas’s friend Isabelle for buying some of the pineapple one). Maracas beach is a favourite with the locals and its a thing to do to have a ‘bake and shark’ when you go to the beach. Betcha cant guess what I had... Can I say amazing (again!!) You not only get your bake (which is a deep fried Roti) You get beautiful fresh deep fried shark fillet inside it, then you go to a buffet like area and add as many of the additions as you want . Yep, of course I added a bit of EVERYTHING . I had to taste it all. Seriously that thing was amazing. BTW I do taste everything first before adding pepper sauce... pepper sauce heightens the flavours. Jas’s friend Isabelle got her son in law to give us a shout out on the radio station he worked at ( they had it playing at the beach), so ‘Karen from Australia’ is now Trini Famous... love it!!

Jasmine took me out to the Pitch lake, in La Brea, and I’ll admit, I had no idea what it was ( I thought it was a lake!!) Anyway, some how we ended up with a colourful local as our personal guide, he was You tube famous and has apparently featured on David Attenboroughs visit to the lake. I have to sit and edit my ‘documentary’ when I’m back in Australia, it’ll be awesome.. I promise. Suffice to say the lake is the most amazing tar pit. Seriously amazing tar pit. The roads leading into the area are all like travelling over mini crazy hills due to the impact of the tar movements in the area. You have to use an authorised guide on the site, which is fair enough as a wrong step could see you disappear forever into the tar... literally... Trinidads pitch lake is the largest natural deposit of asphalt in the world (estimated to hold about 10 million tonnes) Its covers about 100 acres and is about 250 feet deep. There is a cool legend involving the origin of the lake the involves a hummingbird (I like the story), Historically Walter Raleigh re-discovered the lake on his expedition there in 1595. It has that charming rotten egg smell, and the mud and sulphur water apparently have healing properties. Locals were there immersing themselves in some of the pools while we were there. As we didnt have swim suits we had to settle with getting coated in the mud on our legs, and for me, also my face...lol!!! I didnt get a chance to put it on myself, out guide was very keen to smear it all over my face... (and shirt and hair.. etc...). Rinsing it, after it had set, was a whole other process involving splashing what looked Iike green water all over my face (and legs), all I wanted to do was rinse my face with some fresh water afterwards - and it took over an hour or so until I finally got somewhere to do it. Let’s not talk about how much scrubbing it required later that night to get the last bits of our skin! A great fun day though, made all the better for our colourful guide! I have had a crash course in some of the Trinidadian slang/words and between that and their accents I am sometimes lost in a conversation... (definitely accents particularly when you are trying to enter the country and the border control guy is talking to you and you have to continually say, sorry what??? ) I’m a lot better now!!

Jas couldn’t make it over to Tobago as she had work scheduled at her house that she needed to be around for. So I decided to head over for a night, hire a car, and see what I could see. Its literally a 20 min flight over (only costs about 50 US return) FYI 24 hrs isn’t really enough to see everything. I didnt get to the water fall or national park. I had headed down to Store bay beach when I first arrived with instructions to try the curry crab, conch and dumplings in Tobago (its their local specialty, amongst a few other things). Have to say I liked the conch, crab was over cooked and dry, and dumplings were kind of chewy. The ‘provisions’ that I got with it were really nice though - Plantain, Potato, green banana, avocado ..I would have liked to have tried another outlet to give a second opinion, but didnt have the time. I did get to the beautiful Pigeon Park, a natural reserve area, filled with some shops, water sports hire, beautiful beaches and glorious spot to watch the sunset. I also got out to the Fort of King George in Scarborough hiking up the giant hill to take in the glorious views. Hilariously there was a traffic hold up on my way there due to some goats being herded along the road. Island time boy. I would have to say, as much as its a part of the one country, Tobago island is completely different to Trinidad. Its a lot more touristy for a start, it has more servicible beaches. The roads are not as pot holed as Trinidad. The people are still lovely, but you get the tourist scouters who are looking to sell you on anything they can. Its a beautiful place and I’m so glad I got to go across and visit. As always, I can always go back!

My time in the Caribbean has come to a close. (9-16 Oct). What an adventure. I have had a fabulous time, and recommend to anyone to come here and see this place, taste the food and meet the people for themselves. The country has their own issues with government corruption which impacts the improvement of infrastructure like roads etc. And there are warnings around safety as there are elements involved in crime that impact locals and tourists alike. This just makes Trinidad Tobago, not unlike a lot of other countries that I have visited on my adventures. It just means the more prepared you are to be open to new things, different ways of doing things, different cultures. The more you are aware of your own safety, and that of your belongings , the more you can avoid crime. Crime can impact you anywhere in the world, countries like this dont have it any more or less than others, it just seems to be in the media more....

She probably idolized him, and she definitely loved him (as a brother or silly crush). But still she turns her back on him. That is strength.

1.       Where was the last place you went to? Cinema to see call me by your name and i have yet to recover.

2.       Do you have any key chains? Yeah, but not meaningful ones. I just use them for practical reasons. Although for my bike at home I use a ring that someone once gave me as a joke and I never gave it back, because I never really talked to him after that day. But I still keep it safe, because I alwas liked him and he had a hard time in high school and I just hope he’s doing well. (i think he is, judging from social media)(its a cheap ring btw, its all rusted from yeeeears of dangling from my keys in the rain)

i do remember, the only time i visited italy, that i thought the way we were constantly served dishes in like:

now, when i was a italy i was there on a class trip when i was 15, and we were there for 3 weeks. it was in tuscany, north italy.

but we stayed at a biodynamic farm, because i went to waldorf/steiner school as a child. the farm owners served us food from their farm during the entire trip. but ofcourse, i assume they, being biodynamic farmers, were also influenced by waldorf cuisune which..... hates imported spices among things, but loves locally grown herbs.... which also make the food very.... one is always meeting the ingridens of the food very closely. on the other hand that is swedish food culture too, hahahha, so perhaps making a difference here is impossible really.

like waldorf cuisune spice there food alot, but it is in a very particular way.

ANYWAY

i also thought the pizza restruant we went to, recommed by the italian biodynamic farmers we were staying at, had pizza which too was very much like.

even more than pizza have in sweden haha. (also, that pizza place owner was friends with the farmers, and he stuck his foot into their aquarium, without fish thankfully, during the visit. he also, enquoared us to throw pizza dough at eachother. like, he brought forward pizza dough with this VERY PORPUSE, and started to throw it at the farm owners, and then also gave it to us, so we could throw pizza dough at eachother. O_O

i escaped from the pizza dough madness, so i have no more memory of that. i remember i went outside with some classmates, and looked at the absurdly pretty medieval/even older village the pizzeria was in during the pizza dough gate

also, on the subject of That Time I Was In Italy. the reason we were at a farm, is because in waldorf schools we are soppused to expraince farming hands on, in like 8 grade i believe.

we were all city kids (except my classmates from small villages of 100 to about 10 people, they also existed, i admit haha), from swedens capital, so with that farming it was a bit so so so

The Most Farming Stuff I Did!

was to help build a fence in the farms enclusore for their 1 bull (they had milk cows). anyway, this fenced area, was on damn slope O_O which is understandble, being we was in very hill/mountainous tuscany,

BUT ALSO

damn that was a steep slope. like, one almost wondered how the bull would be able to stand upright on it (i know it would mangage it but just to paint a picture of THE SLOPE OF DOOM).

also i was very impressed with how very good all the staff at the farm was with communcating with us, despite speaking no english, and we speaking no italian. that time with the slope - fence, we were directed with a farm worker who spoke zero english. he asked desperatly if we spoke at least spanish, but no we did not. BUT, he was so good at communcating with us, that we realised that that was what he was asking haha. and we held whole convos with him somehow, despite us all speaking different languages haha. (all we kids involved in the fence building spoke swedish as first language. also, there was some bilingual kids there, who second language from their parents were german. we also all studied german and english in school).

in general i am was very impressed with italians ability to communcate with us, despite we speaking no italian, and them no english. very impressed, to this day.

(we were like, in the super tuscany country-side. like so lowly populated that even, who is from sweden were one in the country - side often can’t see a single human for hours, thought i was very much low - populated country - side.

there were almost no young people there at all, wherehas we spend alot of time communcating with old italian ladies selling us ice - cream. good ice cream tho. this was back in 2008!).

Chapter 17

*cracks knuckles* time to get back to this garbage fire. at this rate it’s going to take me 10000000 years to get through this. why is it so long. the trees that died to make all these pages are crying

 - (pg. 173) There are no fewer than six ellipses in the first seven lines of this pages. Dear Lord save me. Find words. Don’t just... (see how annoying it is???)

 - (pg. 173) oh shut up Cassian you know you want a pair of those embroidered slippers. For real, though, this is the kind of worldbuilding detail I wish there was more of. (Though my headcanon is that the Winter Court is the one with the embroidery. See my recent fic.)

 - “I don’t think Nesta will ever forgive me for what happened in Hybern. To her - but mostly to Elain.” (pg. 174) I think this moment was when I lost any lingering love I had for Nesta as a character. This is not only unfair, but also cruel. It also makes me viscerally even more so hate Nessian as a ship.

 - “Because I can’t stay away.” (pg. 175) It’s not that I don’t appreciate the inverse stereotypes, but if this dynamic was opposite (Nesta a guy, Cassian a girl) I feel like it would easily be recognized as NOT HEALTHY.

 - (pg. 175) By the end of this section of the chapter - about three pages long - there have been 15 ellipses.

 - (pg. 175) Lucien standing in the light of the setting sun in fancy clothes and looking like a prince = 15/10 yes please

- (pg. 175) Is anyone else sad that Lucien’s reacting to what everyone’s wearing is exactly the same as what Feyre’s was when she first met the Inner Circle for the first time? He. Was. Abused. Just. Like. She. Was. (Also, nice parallel.)

 - (pg. 175-176) I also really like the references to the sounds Lucien’s mechanical eye makes. I’m not even sure why. Maybe just because it’s such an interesting sensory detail about his character.

 - (pg. 176) Mor complimenting Nesta’s dress to put her at ease and connect with Feyre gives me life. Too bad it didn’t last.

 - “It’s a good thing we’re not the same size - or else I might be tempted to steal that dress.”    “Likely right off her,” Cassian muttered.    Mor’s answering smirk wasn’t reassuring.    “But Nesta’s face remained blank. Cold. She looked Mor up and down - noting the dress that exposed much of her midriff, back, and chest, then the flowing skirts with sheer panels that revealed glimpses of her legs. Scandalous, by human fashions. “Fortunately for you,” Nesta said flatly, “I don’t return the sentiment.”” (pg. 177) *massages temples* I have so many things to say about this, not least of which that this right here could have been like “oh yeah btw Mor likes girls see?” and then we would’ve had rep in the Inner Circle. Ta-da. To go on with, if Cassian’s hinting that Mor’s bi, what the fuck in all sorts of ways. If he isn’t, this probably should’ve been phrased differently. Thirdly, and this is now purely my personal opinion, I ship it so freaking much. Like, look at that. They’d be perfect. Chipper and emotional versus cold and closed-off. A literal queen and a woman always described as one. Liberal and conservative. Mor has fallen in love with a human before. She is more than a match for Nesta. Why did this not happen.

 - (pg. 178) I do lowkey adore the dynamic between Amren and Nesta. I also adore how much Amren freaks Lucien the fuck out. Love it.

 - (pg. 179) *sigh* Why do all the men have to have “broad hands”? Huh? (I know why. Toxic, stereotypical masculinity.)

 - (pg. 179-180) *rubs hands together* ALL RIGHTY IT’S THE FOOD PART. So. Food:  “Roast meats, various sauces and gravies, rice and bread, steamed vegetables fresh from the surrounding farms...”, pan-fried trout, buttery green beans (ffs), roast beets sprinkled with goat cheese, asparagus. Here is where it says the fare is “simple, so at odds with the overwrought dishes of Spring.” I’ll be tackling all this in my General Food Post that I probably can’t write until I finish this brick.

 - “I told you that the moment we started letting females into our group, they’d be nothing but trouble.”    “As far as I can recall, Cassian,” Rhys countered drily, “you actually said you needed a reprieve from staring at our ugly faces, and that some ladies would add some much-needed prettiness for you to look at all day.” (pg. 181) *deep sigh* I know he says he was young and he didn’t know any better, and it’s teasing, but could we not? Especially that first line.

 - (pg. 182) Lucien is smart. Listen to him, Rhys. You absolute fool. Stop snarling and being vicious and whatever. Ick.

 - (pg. 183) Lucien’s skin described as being a “few shades darker than his brothers’”. Sure. Whatever. Still retconned massively. Also, I’ll probably touch on this later, but it’s so weird that Lucien is presumably white-passing, and yet very obviously biracial and Helion’s son. Can’t have it both ways.

 - (pg. 183) “I’m at your disposal.” ahahahaha yes of course you are (don’t judge me this was one of my Luzriel moments)
