seki had called you earlier, whispering as yelling could be heard in the background. you thought there was a fight at first - but it was just your beloved murayama expressing his emotions the only way he knew how. seki let out a sigh, “he lost his job again. he’s not good with authority, you know? doesn’t like when people tell him what to do.”

“think i can help?” you frown. an idea had come to you - stop by oya high and bring some snacks for the others and dinner for yourself and murayama. “he hates talking about it, but maybe he will this time.”

“he’ll talk with you out of everyone. see you soon - be careful.”

the trashed hallways of oya high greeted you, full time students stepping away and parting the crowds for you as you walked by. murayama had only threatened them once to not touch you - one example was all it took for you to be left alone. furuya took the bags you held, smiling before directing you to where murayama had hidden away.

the destruction was immediately evident. books were ripped in half ; desks smashed and chair folded in two ; papers littered the floor and walls had fist-sized holes in them. you let out a low whistle, getting murayama’s attention instantly. “bad day?”

murayama frowns, sitting up from where he’d been sprawled out on the floor. “did they really call you to come calm me down? unbelievable assholes. next time they-”

the thunk of you setting down your takeout boxes interrupted murayama’s rant. smiling at him stiffly, you took your time separating your food from his, distributing it on a cleared, cleaner part of the floor before you sat down. when he didn’t move, you looked at him blankly, “not going to eat? i can go find kiyoshi or yasushi. i’m sure they’re hungry.”

“whatever.” murayama lets out a huff, sitting himself across from you. angrily, he stuffs the food into his mouth at a rapid speed. you pause your motions and really look at him - the crinkle between his brows and the glower on his lips. murayama is still grumbling to himself as he finished eating.

you open your arms silently, waiting only a second before murayama dives into your arms. the oversized shirt you’re wearing is lifted as he stuffs his head inside, laying his ear directly on your heartbeat. the relaxtion he feels is shown by the content sigh he releases and how his stiffened body melts against your own.

you rub your shirt where his head is, pursing your lips in thought. “want to talk about it?” murayama shakes his head no, wrapping his arms tighter around your hips. “okay, we don’t have to talk right now. but, we do need to work on controlling that temper of yours, hm?”

murayama lets out a grunt, biting your collarbone - you let out a shriek and swat at his head. you stroke his head again, bending awkwardly to press a kiss there. “i’m sorry this keeps happening. you deserve better. you deserve more. you’ll find a good job soon - one that you like and one that’ll stick.”

“want to have a stable income,” it’s a quiet, whine-like sound. murayama rubs his face into your sternum and you swear you can feel his aggravated tears building up. “want to buy us a house. want to spoil you and settle down. ‘m tryin’ but it’s not workin’.”

you let out a hum, somehow bringing the boy closer to you. pressing another kiss to his covered head, you smile. “while that all sounds so, so nice - you’re more important. if you don’t like your job, you don’t have to do it. we can get a nice, proper house whenever - can settle and move on and whatever else whenever. you don’t need to be stressed right now - you need to be happy and healthy.”

a sniffle is all you get in response before a tentative kiss is placed on your heart. murayama’s speech is still broken and odd as he perks up again. “love you. so glad you’re here. so lucky to have you. my angel.”
