Gutters can become clogged with leaves, sticks, and other debris very easily. When this happens, they can no longer do their job properly. Water will back up into your gutters and overflow onto your roof or spill out onto the ground near your foundation. Over time, this can lead to serious problems like leaks, flooding, mold growth, and even structural damage. So it's important to keep them clean!

James Highton and his partner Hibermon - From Terrichance’s Deviantart account
“To be quite honest though, my favorite  season of Digimon was the third season. Digimon Tamers. There's just something about card-slashing that appeals to me.  Plus, that season takes a more realistic approach to the idea of  Digimon actually existing. This kid's more based off of me than anybody else though. He lives in the  middle of the country, likes a fast net  connection, and collects the Digimon  Digi-Battle card game. *In reality, I've got almost every single card! I'm only missing four! Anybody got any Spare Booster Series 3 MetalTyrannomon, MagnaAngemon, and Seraphimon? Don't even get me started on the Goldramon promo! ><;* At anyrate, he's one of the select few who recive a D-arc, and he takes advantage of it by sliding his own made-up cards through it. *Hehe, yes, I've got some made-up cards. I'll probably upload them on here sometime.*”

@rustyrick2022 replied to your post “I’ve noticed that some of the dub writers have...”:
Yeah, it's a shame if you ask me, but the dub could have ultimately turned out a lot worse, and despite some elements just being eye-rolling for me as an adult, I still think it's servicable.
Pretty much. I do think it’s a serious problem that the Digimon fanbase will just outright dismiss the idea the dub changes matter for anything just because it was “fair for its day” -- just because it was comparatively closer to the original next to other dubs of its time doesn’t mean those changes weren’t significant at all -- but at the same time, the fact it wasn’t nearly as aggressive as other contemporary dubs is actually true.
Not even for the reasons most people cite. The usual go-to standbys for claiming “the Digimon dub didn’t change that much” are:
"They gave the kids 'nicknames' instead of changing their names fully”: This only applies to Adventure, and in practice the “nicknames” were pretty much exclusively used in the series and merch, with their “full names” never to be seen past the first episode (and when “Izzy”, a nickname based on a character’s surname, is used by the kid’s own parents, it’s clear that “retained names” is really not the case in practice at all). You’d have a better case talking about the high percentage of retained names in Tamers and Frontier (but those were around the time of the Disney switch, so...). In addition, while “name changes” are an easy low hanging fruit when it comes to talking about localization, they actually say very little about how much the series changed on the whole. Data Squad turned “Noguchi Ikuto” into “Keenan Crier”, and yet is probably one of the closer dubs to the original Japanese source material.
"They left the setting in Japan”: ...but they also took out 95% of the cultural context that came with it, and basically the only reason they even were willing to admit the Japanese setting was because the Odaiba arc in Adventure involving so many real-life locations pushed them into a corner. Before then, they turned Hikarigaoka into Highton View Terrace, and they tried very hard to avoid the word “Odaiba” even after that.
However, it is true that if you looked at the other dubs from the infamous 4Kids and such at the time, you’d be looking at things like entirely cut or shifted episodes, cut arcs, heavy changes to the plot itself, and so on and so forth. As far as Digimon’s American English early dubbing went:
No episodes were cut (not even one!). The majority of footage cuts/edits are relegated to little things like impact frames, cigarettes and alcohol, toilet humor, and other fairly minor things. Contrary to popular opinion, I don’t actually think Citramon is that big of a deal. (The part where they danced around Kurata planting a bomb on Relena might be more important, but even then that’s nowhere near cutting a full episode.)
With one exception, all character deaths were treated as deaths and not covered up, and the impact said deaths had on the characters around them was thus treated accordingly. (I'm absolutely not in the camp who calls for bloodshed for the sake of it, but I think we can agree that there are a lot of plot points revolving around characters’ deaths and grief over them that would be very seriously damaged if said deaths were cut.)
Even at its most extreme moments of inserting jokes during mental breakdowns, it still let the important drama scenes stand to some degree. Too many things weren’t even willing to do that.
As much as I think the Digimon fanbase downplays the amount of characterization changes that happened in dubbing way too much, it’s also true that you’d see this much and more in other contemporary series -- it’s just that Seki-produced Digimon being so incredibly character-centric, along with Adventure and 02 having ridiculously single-line-dependent writing styles, made even small changes have more of an impact than probably anyone expected. (To be honest, I’m willing to give the dub writing team benefit of the doubt that they didn’t think the changes they were making would be enough to bite them in the rear later as much as they did. You can actually see an attempt to back down on the changes in the latter half of 02, presumably because they realized how bad things were going to get if they didn’t stop going off the rails with Daisuke.) Also, I have a hot take in that the American English dub take on Ken is arguably more accurate to his original character than the way a lot of fans talk about him in Japanese...
Even if they were often insensitive about it, the dub writers for Digimon did actually like working on it and are still happy to talk about it, which is significant because you would not believe how many dub writers back then seriously despised the very material they were working on and wrote it with the attitude of it being as shallow as they saw it as. It’s a low bar, but at least our Digimon dub writers seem to have respected the series on some level.
The Movie is a total mishmash, but it’s hardly the only mishmash dub product in existence (Robotech, anyone?), and it’s also not like anime theatrical movies would often make it to localization at all -- especially when we were lucky enough to still get some of the other movies too!
The voice acting is actually really good! I wondered if this was maybe just my bias, but no, Digimon really was blessed with a good cast and good voice direction compared to a lot of dubs that are painful to watch even with good scripts.
All of these really feel like low bars/the bare minimum in retrospect, and I don’t think they should be above criticism for these. But that really was what dubs were like back then! I’m not going to hold back in any criticisms or complaints I have about it, and I’m still going to call out the fandom myth of it being a dub that “didn’t change much”, but there’s only so much I can get worked up over something from 20 years ago that was in line with an entire ongoing industry problem. It could have been worse. It could have been a dub that completely stepped all over the characters and really did make it into a soulless toy advertisement, but it still did most of its job of touching kids’ hearts and conveying the important messages and give us something to talk about all these years later. And I mean, I took 02′s message of not getting too hung up on the past we can’t change instead of prioritizing what to do going forward very much to heart, so that’s how I feel about it now.

Ok, request:
Wake, Faye and Alfred + s/o that likes singing when they’re alone and gets embarrassed through hell and back if they get caught
(+bonus if s/o likes singing hella dark songs like Body by Mother Mother or Amygdala’s ragdoll by ghost)
Got it got it- Coming right up-
-- Wake --
Wake finally got home after an irritating day of finding out one of the Mother Goose members had died. It was a surprise when he came home to some singing. Especially to a song with such lyrics no less-
"Per Aspera Ad Inferi" - Ghost
"Are we worshiping Satan now?"
The way you jolted made him snicker, especially when you turned to him with wide eyes and a stammer.
Wake didn't mind. In fact, he thought he should've waited till you stopped. But, now that the opportunity's passed, he thought it wouldn't be too bad to tease you a little.
"You know, it wouldn't be bad for you to start singing while I'm around. It would make for a plenty well stress reliever to hear your voice."
The stare you gave him. That hundred mile stare was the thing that finally made him chuckle.
He gave you a compliment and comforted you after, however.
Wake was just glad to hear something peaceful after such news of his coworker dying in battle to an odd man.
He spent the rest of his time with you, silently counting on hearing your singing whenever you were comfortable.
-- Faye --
She had also gotten home from a rough day, just to hear you wheezing and singing something with a few laughs.
Her curiosity was now piqued. She peeked into the room you were in.
"Bark Like You Want It" - Sir Mix-A-Lot
Boy, she was ready to bark just to catch you off guard lmfao-
But she waited till the end, staring at you like a creep HH-
"Woof."
The way you turned to her. The way you turned to her with that slightly disgusted stare with shock and embarrassment.
It sent her in a laughing fit.
"Honestly I hope you get slapped by one of your little organization friends."
"Not too far from it, I almost got punched-"
"Good-"
"Harsh-"
Faye was laughing about it all day, annoying you about it.
But after she got over it, she wanted to hear more. So she was annoying you about it, pestering you about it. She wanted to hear what you were like when you were seriously singing.
-- Alfred --
It was a day of going home after having to be the bodyguard of the all too annoying Chris Highton. It was not to his comfort when he heard you practically worshiping Satan in the other room. He thought he'd have to do a prayer until he saw you just singing in the other room while reading something.
"Hail Satan, Archangelo... Hail Satan... Welcome Year Zero."
Alfred didn't even bother to keep listening. He just questioned what the hell you were singing while you drank some of your water that he hoped was holy water.
Judging from how you choked on it he was right.
You immediately turned back to him to tell him that it was just a song that slipped into your mind. Then you questioned when he got home. He blandly answered of how he got home a minute ago.
Why the fuck was he so dry lmfao-?
You told him that it was just a song, and that he had no worry of you worshiping Satan- He took you at your word.
But then a minute later he wanted you to sing something else for him to relax while he was relaxed in your arms.
You said no lmfao-
Painful-

For Every Rose A Thousand Thorns - CHAPTER ONE
"Five whole years after the initial disappearances of Madison Moore and Bran Reeves, even more students have disappeared from the Highton College grounds. This morning at around 0800, twins Andrew and Ashley Martinez were reported missing by their roommates. This disappearance now marks the ninth and tenth college-aged students to have disappeared since the beginning of the disappearances. High College has announced that beginning Oct -"
Torrin hit the power button on his remote, turning off the television. Seriously, five whole years and ten disappearances, and they still hadn’t managed to figure out what was happening to all those people? How ridiculous. Sure, he wasn’t certain it was LionDog like more and more folks were claiming – after all, he did work there, and he hadn’t seen anything – but surely they would have found something by now. It almost seemed suspicious. Part of him wondered if the news was being paid off. Not that he would do anything about it. He prided himself in providing suppressants to the fortunate few Alphas who had managed to keep free from Beta ownership, he couldn’t risk the higher ups hearing about that because he got too bold about other problems. Who knows, maybe he would then end up next. What a funny thought that was. He couldn’t help but give a small chuckle, as he stood and stretched and turned to put on his coat and scoop a small bag off the side table. Perhaps later on he could dig more into the rumors, put on his little tinfoil hat and bury himself in conspiracy. That was a later job, though, for after he finished all that he was up to at present.
Out the front door he went, through the winding halls and down the steep stairs of the apartment he lovingly called home. It was only a quick walk to reach the towering walls of one of very few ‘Free Alpha’ settlements, controlled towns for those fortunate Alphas that he had the pleasure of serving, yet somehow even longer to get inside. One would think that, by now, they would have grown used to his constant ins and outs. “Heading out to the hotel again, are you, Mr. Fenix?” One of the guards mocked as he let him by. “Are you sure you’re the Beta that you’re always claiming to be?” This was almost a daily mock at this point, could he really not come up with anything more creative? The man could only keep walking forward, heading down the street, to the left, and up the steps of the SugarSpirit Hotel, cheeks burning even with how adapted he had become at this point. The Alpha running the front desk wordlessly handed him a card, and he made his way on up.
As expected, Nemo was already waiting in the room, feet shuffling anxiously on the floor. It had been longer than usual since she had last requested suppressants, some vague part of Torrin couldn’t help but wonder. But he pushed that thought away as quick as it came. It was rude to speculate, he chided himself. Instead, he pulled the bag out of his pocket, setting the little bottles of suppressants down on the side table. “I could get you enough for about three months, I figured it might be the safest bet for you.” He stated calmly. “Fresh batch, shouldn’t expire until next year. Only take one at a time, these ones are swallowed just the same as the rest. I couldn’t get my hands on the injectables this time. My fault, of course. I’ve been taking too many, they’re getting suspicious.” Nemo shook her head. “Not your fault at all. Its there fault, for making the prices on these things so damn high. You’d think they’d want the rise in crime. Then again, just gives them one more excuse to lock this place down even more.” She opened one of the bottles with shaking hands, spilling out a pill into her palm and swallowing it with a sour expression.
A sad truth, Torrin could hardly even find words to dispute it. He gave up on trying, and let the two of them just sit there for a bit, in relaxed silence, watching the hours tick by. They made small talk, at points, and enjoyed a light dinner together, ignoring the now-constant patrolling of the streets, Alphas being questioned for the simple crime of walking home. He almost wished that this could last, that all that outside could be ignored. After all, this uptight security might make his job harder. It seemed it would only be a matter of time before the inside of the hotel was patrolled as well, before privacy became a thing of the past. But nothing could last, and as the sun had just started its decent from its place in the sky, he slowly rose to his feet.
“Until next time.” He said, as he parted ways with Nemo, heading down the elegant yet still aged staircase and out into the streets. Home he went, he supposed. Tomorrow was work, tomorrow he would have to try to grow his stash more. For Nemo, and for all the other Alphas he serviced. Pulling his coat tightly around himself, he could feel his skin prickling as he walked. How odd. Even with this increased security presence, he had never at all felt uneasy walking down the streets here. He’d wager he normally felt even safer than in his own home. Torrin pushed the feeling aside the best he could, though. Perhaps he was merely nervous about his intentions for tomorrow. Or maybe this extra security really was putting him on edge. No matter what it was, surely it couldn’t be all that significant, right? Perhaps he was simply being a bit of a chicken, no reason whatsoever needed.
Stepping out through the gates, he tried to whistle up to himself a very merry tune. Whatever the problem was, it would all be gone in the daylight. Always has been in the past, always will be in the future. There were no problems here, none at all. Except...as he turned to walk down the road leading straight to his complex, he froze at the sight of a dark figure in his path. That, however, that was new. That may pose a problem. He forced his legs to keep moving forward, kept his head high, tried his damnedest to seem confident even with the trembling that now shook his fingers. Nobody was ever out at this time, not along this path. He could hear the alarm bells ringing in his head. But he had to get home. Perhaps he was still overthinking it, just because he was out at this hour didn’t mean that other’s lacked the right to be. Surely, once he passed by this stranger everything would go back to normal, right?
Incorrect. The closer he drew, the more familiar the stranger became. An associate of his boss, he recognized them, though his mind couldn’t seem to dredge up a name. Maybe they had business in the settlement? Or maybe not, seeing as how they had begun to take a few threatening steps towards Torrin.
“Little late for you to be out, isn’t it?” They asked in a very light, upbeat tone. “Especially so close by the Alpha settlement, there’s really been some nasty ones out theses days. What a shame, you’d think there’d be bigger consequences for not taking their meds.”
Torrin stumbled backwards, eyes widening. “I uh. Just heading home. Had business to attend to. For uh…” He gestured awkwardly at his bottom half before pulling his coat tighter around his shoulders. It was embarrassing to claim such a thing, but then again, perhaps that was his best option in this situation. After all, it wasn’t like he would be the only Beta entering the settlement to handle urges. If he was, the Hotel would be failing quite a bit now, wouldn’t it?
“Urges? My my, what a highly personal thing to admit, I’m sorry that I forced that out of you.” The associate snickered. “Anything else you’d like to share?” They asked. Ever so slightly, Torrin could hear the sound of movement on either side of him. Oh no.
“Uh. No. Nothing.” He stammered out.
A grin split the associate’s face. “Perfect then. Into the truck. And maybe then you’ll tell me where over 5000 doses of our suppressants have scrambled off to.”
Fuck.

Simulations, Possibilities, and Choices

"Let it go, Prowl," Revan had said. "It's not worth it."
And she was right. It wasn't. Prowl was a rookie Enforcer just promoted out of traffic duty. This thing, whatever Highton was doing with those illegal stimulants, was way above his paygrade. At best, his reports would be swallowed up somewhere in the chain of command. At worst... well, citizens in Praxus Underground were not known for long lives.
There was no sense in pursuing this, either. Highton was rich and influential, coming from the Towers. Not to mention, he was one of the top candidates for the next Head Investigator of Praxus and would probably have contacts everywhere. Even if Prowl somehow managed to arrest him, the worst thing that would happen is a relocation to some other comfy position, while Prowl may be retaliated by Highton's remaining so-called 'friends'. Logically, Prowl should follow Revan's advice. Get out while he can, so to speak.
Therein lied the illogic. Those stimulants were illegal for a reason, and Highton was profiting off of it while at the same time lobbying to become Head Investigator. Just thinking about it made Prowl physically sick.
He stared at his report, which Revan had so graciously returned to him with such candid advice. He wondered what Revan's intentions were in returning the report instead of simply ignoring it -- his tactical module calculating a thousand possibilities and assessing the best course of action for him to take for each of them. Revan sounded as if she was worried for Prowl, but it was just as possible that she herself was somehow involved.
Prowl let his tactical module run over that possibility. With each simulation he found more ways this fight could end badly for him.
What he needed, he decided, was an ally. One who is better equipped to deal with the illogical and the impossible.
After some deliberation, he downloaded the report on a separate data chip and left the office.
*****
Fortunately, Jazz was in his apartment at the sublevels, meaning Prowl did not have to wait outside for long.
Jazz's expression was wary when he opened the door, though once he realized that Prowl was alone he grinned broadly.
"What's this?" he asked. "You should have brought back-up if you wanted to arrest me."
"Then you can guess that my intention is nothing of the sort," Prowl replied.
"I can never guess your intentions, Prowl. For someone so clever, you can be pretty stupid."
Prowl was not sure how to respond to that, especially since he had come for a reason some might consider stupid. He inclined his head. "May I come in? I have something to discuss with you."
"Sure, be my guest," Jazz said, stepping aside with an exaggerated welcoming gesture.
Jazz's apartment was smaller than Prowl's and more cluttered with random items of unknown origin displayed carelessly on a tiny shelf. Several datapads and chips were piled haphazardly on a single table. Despite the clutter, there was a strange sense of emptiness that lingered with Jazz, as if he was always ready to move out at a moment's notice.
Behind Prowl, Jazz closed the door after scanning down the hallways. He offered Prowl the only chair by the table and sat on his bed, watching Prowl curiously.
"So?" he prompted. "What made you come all the way down to this pit at dead of night?"
Prowl paused, deciding how best to approach the subject. Then he immediately proved Jazz's point by asking a stupid question. "Do you know Highton?"
Jazz stared flatly. "No, I don't. Funny that he's got the same designation as the bot slated to be the next Head Investigator, though."
Prowl flushed. "No need to be sarcastic."
Jazz shrugged, examining his fingers. "Told you, didn't I? What about Highton?"
"He has been dealing with stimulants. I have yet to uncover how extensive his network gets, but it seems to be quite massive."
"Yeah, he's popular for that," Jazz replied nonchalantly. At Prowl's expression, he raised an optic ridge. "What?"
"What do you mean--" Prowl sputtered. "Who else knows about this?"
"Popular in the Underground, I mean," said Jazz. "And maybe some top officials as well. Obviously no one mentions any names. Can you imagine what would happen to anyone living down here if they so much as breathe a word about it? Highton is untouchable."
"Are you part of this?" Prowl asked sharply.
Jazz scoffed. "Do I look like I'd do stimulants? I like my systems the way they are, thanks."
Prowl let out a deep breath. His tactical module was running full power again, taking into consideration this new piece of information. The likelihood that Revan was also complicit was becoming stronger. He was also starting to wonder if he had made the right call, coming to Jazz for help like this. He trusted Jazz, of course, but now he was coming up with all the bad ways this could end for Jazz as well. The "bad ending" scenario had just doubled.
Jazz interrupted Prowl's increasingly bleak chain of thoughts. "So you've found out Highton's dirty secret and now you're trying to uncover it?" he asked.
"...Yes."
"And you want me to help."
It was not even a question.
"You're the only Investigator I could think of."
"So what's keeping you from asking?"
Prowl avoided Jazz's gaze, which was far too sharp, too knowing. If this ended badly, the consequences could be far worse for Jazz, who had just barely passed probation thanks to his shaky background. Perhaps it was better to--
"I'll help."
Prowl's head snapped up. "Are you sure?" Because he was not.
Jazz tapped the side of his head. "I can feel your processor heating up just calculating all the what-ifs, Prowler. It's getting hot, so I'm taking that choice away from you."
Prowl smiled, feeling warm for the first time since talking to Revan. Whichever way this would lead to, at least he won't be alone.
"Thanks," he said.
