@hiislegacy for baha!cloud~
Kairos was staring at him, how could she not be staring at him? It wasn't very often anymore that she was caught off guard by things, being aware of every timeline all at once all the time, but this??
"That is not...You're not supposed to..." She stammered over her words, eyes wide as she made a gesture with her hand towards him. "I've never seen this before, and that's saying something." Kairos choked as she almost feared for her own life for a moment. "You...really look like you might wanna kill someone though.." She added in a tiny whisper.

Everything is...weird. It's weird. Cloud never did agree with Aerith's decision to try and help Sephiroth come back to himself, whatever the fuck that meant, and now things are just so fucking weird.
It seems that they dance around each other more than anything now, neither of them wanting to admit that the bond they share is still there, despite a lack of feeling it. Cloud definitely doesn't want to admit that anything he may or may not feel for this fucking monster goes beyond surface level attraction. It feels like a betrayal, to himself, to all the people who have suffered at Sephiroth's hands, to everything.
And yet...
And yet, here they are, existing in the same room without completely throttling each other. The silence is deafening. Not being able to tell what Sephiroth is thinking puts him even more on edge than it should. So he scowls and crosses his arms before he just "What the hell do you even want? What's the point of all this?"
Well, it's...something, at least.

@hiislegacy gets a starter
The sound of metal screeching and people yelling seemed to fade into the background as Yuffie made her attempts to stay upright. “Shit!” The curse left her lips as she felt herself slide backwards. It occurred to her that falling to her death inside this shit hole was on brand for the day. She’d slept like shit last night, mostly anxiety and a boundless level of energy had kept her awake to the point she’d snuck out the hotel room and up onto the roof just so it didn’t feel like she was going to crawl out of her own skin.
If she survived this she might have blamed her tiredness for being unable to stop what was coming, though, the falling metal hung in midair with her. Without thinking, the hook on her belt was flung, making contact with a piece of metal still attached to the walkway. Oh thank god. Success, for a moment, before she heard the rest of the walkway give way above her and start falling too.
It did, however, give her enough deceleration to survive the fall, realising she might just make it, her body curled and tumbled through the air before landing on the ground. It was heavy, made her knee ache but she was alive. A good break to the days streak of bad luck.

Above her, voices, ‘Yuffie, can you find a way up?’ Sounded like Tifa. “Yeah - I’ll meet you out front!” It wasn't going to be hard to find the stairs and make her way back up, she just didn’t trust the structural integrity. “Fuck Shinra.” A mumble to herself more than anything else. “Can’t even build anything properly anymore.” Their fault. Clearly this was their fault.
With annoyance rattling through her, she pushed open the flimsy door to the stairwell and stared up it. Noting the less than great looking staircase. “They really don’t make ‘em like they used to.” Instead of risking it, she continued onwards, through the other and found herself in a dark hallway, a look up and down it, frankly it looked like any other shitty Shinra installation. So shitty in fact she was sure she heard a noise. A sigh left her. “I bet even the rats don’t want to be down here.”

@hiislegacy sent ;; [Cloud - possibly puppet-ish?] ❛ this fear you feel? it won’t last. ❜
Quietly, carefully, Aerith examines the other with a calculated stare — gone are the youthful signs of mirth in the girl's face, replaced now with the knowing of someone far too experienced with suffering, with betrayal; she expects it. She prepares for it. And here, she prepared for there to be something with Cloud — something she couldn't put her finger on, but the lifestream curdled and shrunk in his presence and she knew, she knew, one day something would come.
It doesn't make it easier.
So Aerith takes the fear that he detected and shoves it deep down in her stomach where it rots and sits heavy on the soul; it weighs like bodies on tarp, and makes her feel sick, sick, sick to her very soul, something inside of her cracking and bending to better fit the shape.
"I'm not afraid of you, Cloud." Aerith keens sweetly, tilting her head to the side and smiling.
It was a lie.

Yet again, sleep evades her. No matter what the fighter does; every attempt of rest is futile. Her thoughts are loud, amplified by the silence of the night. Memories of the past; stained by that Monster's touch resurface, and no amount of convincing could get them to disappear. These memories seem... real --carved into her body and senses, just like that ghastly scar he left.
Curled up under her blanket, Tifa physically covers her ears. His voice pierces her thought and for a second she could smell the blood and feel the smoke in her lungs. Every swallow brings back that awful scratchy sensation of ash settling in her throat. But where memories should continue to form the tapestry of her past, nonsensical gaps linger, leaving questions unanswered...
Frustrated, Tifa tosses the blanket off her tired form. She buries her face in her pillow; hoping to cradle the ache beneath her eyes.

@hiislegacy asked: [Cloud to Vincent] ❛ fucking hit me already. ❜
He had only been present to witness it a few times since deciding to join this crew. But he was not blind. He saw what the others saw; the shift in Cloud's energy, the aggression burning forward, the unhinged draw in his movements and his gaze. He understood some of the reasons why, but perhaps he was the only one willing to take action.
Cloud hadn't fallen into full aggression, but there had been enough of a burst, this time aimed unnecessarily at Cait Sith before Cloud had marched off, and so Vincent took it upon himself to march after Cloud.
And had had to avoid a few attempts of attacks to shake him, but he moved and turned to avoid the slashes of that dangerous blade before shoving the half out of it Cloud to the side. All this without a word, as of yet. Until Cloud said those words.
Vincent narrowed his gaze, and then suddenly he fired off a few shots at Cloud's sword to shift it's weight downward, before surging forward. But he didn't hit him--he shoved him back against the nearest wall, keeping his gauntleted forearm pressed against the bloods chest and shoulders. He was standing very close, staring him down.
"Do you think having one of us beat you will stay whatever monster you're holding inside?" he questioned, knowing the feeling all too well. The emotions that could lead to the loss of control, to provoke more twisted forces to take hold of the carcass left behind. The sources were different, and yet the man he saw before him was far too...familiar. "Or do you want someone elses hands to carve away your shame and guilt? If you want to fight, I will fight you...but I will not punish you for the monsters force upon you."

@hiislegacy liked this post for a short starter
Zack plops food in front of Cloud with a determined look. He wasn't letting Cloud leave without getting something in his belly.
And he was willing to fight him on this.
"It's not spicy. It's easy on the stomach. It's just broth and noodles. Now eat."

@hiislegacy continued.
It happened all at once, the complete flood of fury that ran through every inch of her artificial body. She knew the source, all too well in fact, and could only curse herself that she hadn't taken note of it sooner.
The blond was struggling at Sephiroth's feet when Asteria arrived in what seemed to be out of nowhere, the pupils of her eyes nearly blacking out the shining green of her irises and leaving only a glowing ring around the pupils.
He was speaking to her, she could hear him clearly and yet she only chose to look at him when she responded.
"You heard what I said. I shouldn't need to repeat myself, should I?" Asteria responded in an eerily soft tone, shoulders taut yet the rest of her body language was superbly calm.

@hiislegacy sent [Sephiroth to Cloud] 🖐️ // put a hand around my muse’s throat .
It's become increasingly difficult for Cloud to know what is real and what isn't but one thing is for sure - this hand around his throat feels real. Sephiroth is here and that realization has mako-infused eyes widening.
Head tilts back to both look up at the much taller male and level him with a defiant glare. Her hand comes up to wrap fingers around Sephiroth's wrist to tug but the grip is tight, bruising on her pale flesh.
"Let go of me!" Cloud cries out in an angry hiss. They refuse to show fear despite how their eyes are wide. That hand around their throat both scares them and....doesn't. Conflicting confusing emotions overwhelm them but they'll keep playing the part of anger. "You bastard! Let go!"

Her fingers had a gentle grasp on his chin as her gaze shifted minutely across his features.
"Such a sweet thing. No wonder he wants you on his side so badly.."

@hiislegacy
Really, she had almost literally come out of nowhere.
"You know how they say 'just because you can, doesn't mean you should'?" Kairos's head tilted as she peered up at him, standing only less than a foot from him.
"Yea, you should take that into consideration when it comes to looking into the timelines." She muttered, her eyes narrowing in slight irritation.

So this is where you've been hiding.
Aerith's heart starts to pound in her chest the second their eyes meet, and she quickly shoves Cloud away from here, away from this place. Let me handle Sephiroth she had told him again and again and again by now. It always ends the same way, but that doesn't mean she can't try to change things anyways.
Taking a deep breath, she turns to face him. Her materia is gone, the one thing she felt she could hold onto to keep herself safe. It's in better hands now, and better Cloud's than anyone else's. "So you found me," she says simply, her hands clasped behind her back as she stands near her flowers for some kind of comfort. "Kinda seems like we're stuck in this cycle, huh? Always finding each other, even in places we shouldn't be. So what now?"

[ From Pre-Nibelheim Sephiroth, -MAYBE close to the time he goes wild?- ] ❝ perhaps there is a measure of monster inside us all. ❞
Glenn raised an eyebrow at that statement, tilting his head slightly at Sephiroth.
"That sounds dark.", he stated, though if he allowed himself to dwell on that a little longer, he maybe could see what the silverhaired SOLDIER was getting at.
"You mean because we fight and kill others at times? Those who oppose us?", he mulled back. It was an easy explanation in a complex situation. If you allowed yourself to dwell on it too long, it could drive you insane. In a way, Sephiroth and he were supposed to be mortal enemies. The hero of Shinra and the leader of the SRC. And yet they could talk like this, yet they could feel for the other - due to the past they had shared years ago.
"You just gotta kill that monster inside over and over again... or do you need help with that?"

@hiislegacy. [From Sephiroth] [ 𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 ] : receiver notices sender looking at them longingly.]
Moments like this were hard to come by. If anyone knew — if anyone knew, how could Aerith ever look her beloved friends in the eye any more? He was the enemy, but she...
They were intertwined like this, fated and sealed at the first glance; she knew what he would do, how she would stop him from her grave, how she would put an end to everything he held dear to him now but here she was, sat with him, somewhere quiet and alone away while the other's slept peacefully in the inn nearby. She was sat in the grass, looking over the horizon of that little town they'd settled in and wondering... Did they know? Could they tell?
When she glances to her side she isn't surprised that Sephiroth is looking at her, but she is surprised at the expression on his face — it's something she hasn't seen before, well, maybe she knows what it is but she daren't hazard a guess when it comes to him. It could even not be him, some puppet instead; how could she even begin to imagine what that look meant?
But she fidgeted nonetheless, she looked nonetheless.
"You're staring at me." Aerith says, tucking a few strands of hair behind her ear. She tilts her head, letting her fringe fall delicately over her forehead, all gentle and longing. "Can I help you?"

Respite at Cosmo Canyon
The excitable brunette was giddy; she curled her arms excitedly around one of the cubs - Nanaki's young. They had their official Naming Day soon, he'd said, but for now, the villagers had nicknamed them. The girl was Sani and the boy was Windy. They were heavier than they looked! "I'll look after them while you attend to the council," she promised. Then, she used her cell to call Cloud and invite him over since she knew he was in the area.
She waited in the main house. Cloud was on the way; the home had a blanket for a door, because Nanaki didn't have hands and he couldn't open them. As a matter of fact, many of the homes were paws-friendly.
"Is Uncle Cloud coming soon? Did you and Uncle Cloud really fight the One Winged Angel?" Windy was a darker red than his sister; he launched himself from one armchair to another, clambering up, and stood proudly.
"We did."
"Did you really use Holy to stop the Meteor?" Suni sat on her rump with her legs splayed.
"Yep!" Aerith smiled, scooping up Windy so he didn't fall off. He dangled from her arms, long limbs and big paws akimbo. "But let's try not to ask Cloud so many questions today, he doesn't like to talk about it too much. But you be sure to give him lots of hugs and kisses. He likes those."
Maybe she was building him up just a little bit...

Assorted Dialogue | Open
@hiislegacy asked: [Corrupted!Cloud to Vincent] ❛ you are losing my interest, and that’s very dangerous. ❜
Were it not for the demon bound within him with all the other dark and tormented souls, perhaps Vincent wouldn't have been the wiser. Perhaps if Cloud's words and reactions had not seemed off one too many times, he wouldn't have leaned towards the prickling instinct in the back of his mind.
Perhaps if he didn't recognize a lonely spirit weighed down yet empowered by a certain madness, their little group would have been doomed and this figure would have had his way.
But Vincent recognized that who stood before him, was not the Cloud he'd come to experience, understand, and know. He was not the same Cloud he found his awareness and sympathy drifting to on instinct. He was not the same Cloud...and yet.
And yet he was Cloud. But what more, or what less...?
Quicksilver was held at his side, lowered with some amount of hesitance, but ready to draw with rapid speed, because he was no fool. Heterochromatic eyes watched the blond, assessing him up and down, almost seeming like he was sensing the air between them.
"I don't very much care if I hold your interest... I may not understand what's become of the man I was coming to call my friend, but I will do what I must against you anyways. So come out with it. What do you won't? I can promise you," he took aim at Cloud, "you won't get it."
