Today’s book recommendation is - Himalayan Blunder by Brig J.P. Dalvi. . She says, . "This is not just a book, but a magnum opus on the Sino-Indian clash of 1962. It doesn’t only focus on the war preparations (if that can at all be called a preparation) but gives a detailed account of political developments around the world, our faulty foreign policies post independence, the rot that had set in our Govt., the harassment of brilliant army generals at the hands of Govt., the formulation of “Hindi Chini Bhai Bhai” policy, the neglect and subsequent politicization of the army, replacement of army generals who had the guts to disagree with Mr.Nehru-Menon by handpicked generals and etc etc." The path of India was doomed since 15th August 1947. The superior air of a few leaders, know-it-all attitude, complete negligence coupled with adamance is what led India to 1962. The clash off of 1962 was a wake-up call for the country.
