Hello, and thank you for the ask. 😊 (And for your patience!)

Unfortunately (or, at least to me it's unfortunate!), a lot of people in this fandom really dislike Rick. It usually boils down to:

a) his treatment of Kai, and b) his treatment of Popuri

...and tbh, although I totally disagree, it does make sense to me why people dislike Rick! The scene where Rick goes to the beach just to scream at Kai to stay away from Popuri can be a little off-putting and I know it rubs people the wrong way. And I know people find his overprotectiveness of his little sister to be both creepy and annoying.

But I guess I don't really see Rick that way. Instead, I see him as a hardworking person who cares deeply about his family -- he basically runs PoPoultry all by himself, since Lillia is too sick and Popuri is too flighty -- and projects some of his resentment toward his father onto Kai. (Which, imo, I can't really blame Rick 100% for either. Kai is easily my 2nd favorite bachelor, if not tied with Rick, but I never got the impression he was as into Popuri as she was into him. Additionally, if you've ever played Back To Nature, it's not as if Kai is sweet and innocent with Rick either lmao. He's kind of a jerk, and it makes me sad they toned him down in Friends of Mineral Town, because I do think it makes Rick look unreasonable).

So yeah 😄 That's basically the gist of why people think Rick is bad, but also why I'm 100% a Rick apologist, hahaha!

I don't usually think too much about him, but I find Rick as a very interesting character.

I feel like I'm part of an unpopular opinion because most hm fans seem to dislike him or ignore him. I even made a post asking about others opinions about him in the past lol It's nice to see more people who like him!

I think he has a deeper and much sadder reason to be the way he is. He feels or thinks he must be the responsable one of the family, which maybe makes it difficult for him to trust enough in others, and can't help but have a very strong opinion about his father, that being more negative of course, but at the same time being incapable of hating him (if I remember the stuff about the watch correctly). Sometimes I think he can be a bit afraid of abandonment, so he tries his best to take care of the closest people to him, something that can lead to bad results. I also have the impression he doesn't really have that much people to talk to about his struggles, and that's why sometimes Karen can feel overwhelmed in some of the events.

It's a bit difficult for me to express all I think about this while keeping it short right now, so I'll finish by saying I understand and even kind of feel relatable to some of his problems.

I don't have much to say about Trent, which makes me a bit sad because I do enjoy his character very much, it's just the interpretation I have of him is either canon or someone else's ideas.

Just like everyone else though, I think he must have an interesting story behind him.

Added the "not enough screentime" because I wish I could see more events of him outside the clinic, and with other characters besides Ellie. He appears in festivals and all, but I guess I just enjoy interactions between characters one wouldn't normally see. Could be I'm just not remembering enough :')

HoO is so funny to me when you actually think about the ages of all the characters. Octavian is 18. Percy and Annabeth are 16, almost 17. Reyna is presumably 16. Frank just turned 16, Jason’s about to turn 16. Leo and Piper are like 15. Hazel’s like 14 and a half, and Nico is 13.

The Death Sibs are both the youngest and oldest on the Argo II. Octavian is a college freshman getting into petty drama with a bunch of high schoolers. He gets told to shut up at one point by a random 8th grader. Everyone is scared of the 8th grader. We Sent A 13 Year Old To Superhell and he came back weirder, Just Like Middle School. TLH was just three high school sophomores being sent to do a task and it going Exactly Like You’d Expect. Percy’s the only demigod on the ship who can legally drive (though Reyna gets her drivers license at some point before TOA). What Is Happening.

The mines are open again!

I made use of the NSO's suspend states to find the holes to the lower floors. Interestingly, while the location of the holes seems consistent when reloading the suspend state, the stuff you mine seems random. I'm not positive, but it seemed like there were times when after reloading, I'd dig in the same spot where I found something before reloading, but this time there would be something different or sometimes I'd come up empty

This was the main thing I wanted from the mine! It took some time, but I finally got it. It was definitely easier using the suspend states.
