Remember the days when Mastodon had balls? Pepperidge Farm remembers. I'd seen ads for Remission in @terrorizermag upon its release in 2002. I'd later see, much like with @shadowsfallband around the same time, comparisons to Metallica...but if they wrote music like Rush. It wasnt until I bought Leviathan two years later that, upon that record kicking my ass royally, I FINALLY bought Remission. The smartest thing Bill Kelliher and Brann Dailor (can someone say GOD on drums??) did was leave Today Is The Day and form Mastodon. If only they can remember were they came from and make a record as godly as Remission or even Leviathan. Just show me you guys actually still have some kind of testosterone in you! Recommended Tracks: March Of The Fire Ants(!!!!!!!!), Workhorse (Brent belting it out without the fucking stupid hick twang he later started using), Where Strides The Behemoth, Ol'e Nessie, Mother Puncher. The digipack comes with a bonus cover of the Thin Lizzy track "The Emerald" which is actually pretty good, considering how much I hate Thin Lizzy. It also features a live DVD from a fucking sick show in their hometown of Atlanta, opening up for Dillinger Escape Plan, who honestly should've been the opener, not Mastodon. I also hate Dillinger. #confessionsofanangrymetalhead #metalhead #mastodon #remission #2002 #relapserecords #branndailor #brenthinds #troysanders #billkelliher #progmetal #realprogmetal #holyshitwasthisheavy #progsludge #whenmastodonhadballs #marchofthefireants #terrorizermagazine https://www.instagram.com/p/CN4v0A8ptRq/?igshid=1y2158l5gl1h1
