tbh as far as homunculus female characters i can obv complain on their conception and the general trend of how theyre portrayed, in-story and authorially, but i cant complain much on their consistency i like them a lot despite The Horrors.

im not going to outright say that it's out of the question that obvs nakoshi does the homunculus thing w people for selfish reasons and that at the end (and by virtue we dont see the most of the other people later on) they couldve just not really make any progress and it's all simply foolish but then you have to explain how does say, ito fit in there. she stays in the rest of the plot and she's doing perfectly fine. so it her case just a false win like the others? are (most of) the others effectively successful as her's, at least before nakoshi goes hard self destructive? is it random? or all failures except ito and she is, truly, the onle person that sees him.

like of course the literal homunculus thing is hyperbolic and such 'ability' it's pretty much just textually assigned to nakoshi and nanako but at the end of the day it's just a manifestation of a heightened perception. so idk what would be technically odd abt saying ito is of a similar skill. it's not a like binary group lol
