Oh boy.

- Have you seen this boy move? He does ridiculous acrobatics and moves around a lot in general in a way that could be read as hyperactive

- Yuma's whole thing is feeling the flow and high fiving the sky. He does ridiculous stunts and dares just because he can.

- Yuma sleeps in front of the gate so he'll be able to get into the tournament on time, but he forgets his heart pieces (the proof that he's a semi-finalist). He also forgot to sign up for the World Duel Carnival originally, and the only reason he got in is because Kite saw him.

- Yuma literally threw himself in front of a truck to push his friend, Tori, out of the way; this is an impulsive thing to do and also shows how ride or die he is for his friends.

- He definitely forgot a whole argument that he had just had with Tori in one episode.

- It's Yu-Gi-Oh, so hyperfixations and special interests in card games are par for the course, and Yuma definitely is focused solely on card game dueling (to the detriment of other things).

- The way Yuma handles friendships (if we duel, we're friends!) feels kinda ADHD to me

- there are definitely other examples of him having ADHD traits that I'm missing

it's well known that Kazuki Takahashi created the protagonist designs for DM, GX and 5DS, but he also worked on a significant portion of Zexal's cast, designing Yuma, Astral, Zexal I, Shark, Kaito, Kotori, Faker, Haruto, Anna, Cathy, as well as Hope Utopia and Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon. (He also appeared to design a very different early version of "Mizael" but more on that in another post)

Some of these sketches were seen before Zexal started airing in Japan, while others were revealed in Kazuki Takahashi's artbook "Duel Art"

SO I decided to translate this doujin. Thank you so much to @doujinscans​ for making this available. This is my first translation project and it was really educational. I have so much more appreciation for translators now. I saw another translator who said that translating Vector’s vectorisms was difficult and it really was, somehow. Crassness in Japanese is just not done the same way as crassness in English lol.  I only have an intermediate understanding of Japanese and had to rely on a lot of research to get through this. I prioritized natural sounding English and vibes over direct translation. I did my best but it’s probably the case that I made some mistakes. If you’ve read the original and think I missed an important aspect in the translation or made a significant error that changes the way things come off, please let me know.  With that, you can read below the cut!
