About as dry as one should allow for the dry side of watering. Im always a huge proponent of following the watering scale from 2-4 out of 1-5 range. Ive slightly adjusted my tactics as the microbes thrive in water but also oxygen. Drying out the soil allows oxygen to re enter the soil structure. Anytime one over waters one is destroying aeration of soilless medium. (Especially true in fabric/soft pots but any potted culture, free draining shouldnt even be a question unless its earthbox tech. ) This is the reason they invented the medias they did. As they are more forgiving to repetitive additions of water. Ie rock-wool the ultimate wont collapse but can be watered constantly. (Yield) Coir ive noticed is also fairly forgiving in not holding too much water and almost seems to let go too quickly. Imo. I still prefer a combination blend. Which seems to be working quite well. Still working towards no pre made, ie pro mix. And no perlite in future. Peat Promix cc-k Coir Castings Few mineral dusts (17gr per 5gallon soil) 35gr for the heavy. 1/4cup ish. Top dress with EWC and have been watering from the aquarium ive had going for two years no cleaning. I recently remembered thats what sort of started this adventure into microbes. Or atleast made me belive it could work. A variation of aqauponics/soilless medium horticulture and soil food web-microbe organics. Thermal compost is a big must for all of this to work. Thats going to be my biological take on farming. ;). Lets diagnose; all one plant. Video- few days ago,2nd pic today. Currently have"" spidermites, thrips, fungus gnats. Predators applied for two months, under control. Grown with microbes, no synthetics, three types if EWC, peat/coir plus mineral dusts. Tap water. Bubbled The damage you see in background is the reason shes outside now, started along one main branch. , i thought i had burnt it with the vyprs, her sister enjoyed the same space after switch, (they burn leaves but new growth wouldn't be affected). Maybe the damage to stem from the LST as it was slightly torn/crushed/healed with a callus. At first the withdrawal of energy i thought could be for repair. However it went in both sides of said bend, just slightly. (May have been a source of infection, thus spreading to the upper portion of said branch first.) very curious how slowly it spreads as if shes trying to grow through it. Then new foliage is affected again. Thin new leaves. (Looks like severe humidity problems. Slightly curled down and in. Tips burn first. I wondered if during the extreme PPFD if it had a dry spot in the container, which would affect one major root branch area maybe, pythium, and such etc are usually affecting the entire plant at once though. Or theres something chewing on only part if the roots, or shoots. 馃 ...........--------/ Its now swelling really nicely with a month to go still. However the disease is officially chasing it down as the latter half is literally stunted and somewhat shrinking. Has not spread to either the seeded plants outside, so not likely a fungus/bacterial infection above surface. Nor any plants within the grow a few weeks before taking it out for quarantine were affected. Happy thinking and growing. :). #cannabisgrow #cannabisblog #cannabiscanada #cannabisblogger #horticulturist #horticultureblogger #plantblog #plantnerd #medicinalcannabis #organiccannabis #plantdiagnostics #plantproblems #cannabisissues #sickplant #plantdisease #horticulture #cannabisproblems #cannacanada #craftcannabis #ledgrown #soilfoodweb #microbeorganics #organicfarming #microgrow #cloudsovercanada #ontariostoners #plantdoctor #medicinecabinet #qaulitycontrol #quarentine https://www.instagram.com/p/Bn3-LOyhcmP/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1vduflv8jojjw

Powdery mildew injected seeds. I love the never ending ability to play with these plants. The aerated compost tea i applies really worked well to keep the Pm fairly in control. I almost thought i had gotten rid of it. THen the cold weather came back. I wanted the plant to keep the Pm, as im hoping to start breeding towards some tolerance. (Just for fun, its not breeding so much as chucking the two i had together. However the extremely lanky narrow leaf varietal with Pm that is the mother was bred to a very fast flowering wide-leaf completely resistant to same conditions PM. So if nothing else may be quite a neat cross based on growing structure alone. And hopefully some tolerance to conditions here. Really neat either way watching my first batch of seeds develop. They look like theyre going to be huge seeds. :). Pistillate is a strawberryguava by oni seed co. Do not be hasty!-TreeBeard. Why would one spend five or six months growing out a plant to pull it all down one or two weeks early? (Counts equally towards a proper drying and curing) Today is day 63 officially; the two month mark in flower. And they were in solid stipule production by day two as i slowly flip the room over a week or so. Looking at the ladies last week one could've mistaken the fallen stipules (pistils) as finished. Especially on the two cbd that have been withdrawing energy from leaves for nearly two weeks. When my new dinolite scope showed up i got a nice view of what was actually happening. (My DsLR is the other i use to get macro footage for easier viewing and decision making. Versus hand held it doesn't nt require removal of sample). That showed me the "most finished one" was still only clear trichomes. Awesome. The other reason i would say to not pull early is that one can double the yield in the last two weeks. The swelling is continous, based slightly on amount of water received (at once and how often more than how much in total, flushers beware.... ill have personal anecdotal reason beyond the scientific ones that suggests thats not helping. Happy to discuss. Defoliation is another one of those... my goodness what a waste of time that is. Lol. For next time. Happy growing everyone. First go at ever placing a potsto in the soil. Not bad for seed potatos from @uharvest. I usually don't look up what one is supposed to do on a first trial. This way the plant and i have a chance to become acquainted with the life cycles and general plant morphology. I do sometimes try things also just because; so around the time just before flowers i did bury the entire patch. Im guessing i could've picked them then and had small reds. Lol. Always learning. Few weeks behind the pack. But right in between the batch in spydr room. This i believe is more leaning towards what the breeders were aiming for. Away from the leafy and hash plant/foot smell, this one has an interesting subtle fruity nose building already. And a beautiful flower structure as well. Excited to see where this one goes 馃挭. Peppers and the soil food web. This summer i had great success with my peppers, general health of plants and overall quality of fruit as well. This new microbe growing method is going to only improve my previous quality of products. The reactions from the synthetic salts were not usually quite as positive as with the tomatoes and other things i grew. The insect pressure was just insane last year from the weevils (see the damage in the jalape帽os pic, brown spot. Usually would be a hole, and this year a few didn't burrow only left the wall of fruit. 馃) and in general i found the peppers finicky unless it was the chilis or hotter ones. Even the insect world knows to avoid the California reaper 馃槀. (Grew amazing last year, did not try one). Theres talks of a hoop house in the near future, if i can swing that ill be growing peppers eggplants and tomatoes in the worst environment possible b. (Hoop houses are.... handy, for storage and things. Haha. Actually mainly for propagation of perennials until summer. But protected culture is always better for these plants than non. The ability to make a micro climate during cooler weather to increase ripening is a huge bonus. But thats also the drawback, its a giant tube of micro climate, always dealing with spikes in the extremes of humidity and heat, with minimal control. Adding the controls places one in a silly position of having spent too much in the hobby kit and not investing into bay one of a gutter connect. Which isn't always the right answer for everyone either. Always planning, always thinking, but just keep growing as you go. Literally and figuratively. Have a great weekend everyone. 馃挭馃馃憤馃尡馃尣馃拹馃挩. #thankgodformedicine #godsmedicine #greenfood #growingpeppers #backyardpeppers #organicpeppers #paprikakwekerij #kwekerij #plantblog #plantnerd #plantsoverpills #horticulturist #horticultureblogger #organicproduce #cultivation #organiccultivation #prebiotic #probioticfarmersalliance #probioticvegetables #soilfoodweb #microbeorganics #plantopinion #plantthoughts #williamdamseeds #uharvest #uharvestorganicseeds #reneesgardenseeds @uharvest @williamdamseeds @reneesgardenseeds #wallacewow @wowwallace @gro4organics https://www.instagram.com/p/BngWdDBF7z-/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=z7idqogtt4dt

"Squishy, I shall call it squishy, maybe we will squish it and squish and smoke it" Another update, because they're pretty. 馃槑. Have been only watering with plain or bubbles water, (I also recycle dehumidifier water most of the time), for last week or so and will continue until the end. ... Temps are running 27-30 day and trying to get low as possible for nights, which has been 22-23 coldest so far. Currently do not have an AC in the grow. Nor will I. I will build a "lung room" that I can draw cold air from, and also pull to other rooms at same time; like the drying and veg room. Co2 is still ambient. Lights are on from 6:45 to 5 lately. And I try to allow the room to warm for few hours prior to lights on, as well as first two hours (if not going over exhaust limits automatic). I cool a little more nearing lights off which the first set turns off half hour prior to the second. Slow transitions of and when possible. :). And also get a proper monitoring device. Throw away your thermostat 10$ POS devices. High low tells u two things. 馃. Min and max. Well when was that? Or why? I use sensor push. So far have been working great and have multiples. Have seen other units as well. Learn vapor pressure deficit. And grow by it and or the same reactions to plants in the environment. When numbers are combined with ones ability to watch and learn the process. One is able to confirm theories as well as teach others who will never gain that horticultural understanding. Skills are taught, passion is grown. Ornamental plants. Volunteer left, strawberry guava fem. center by @oninoodles @oni_seed_co Plant on right is a male not related. ..............-------------..........The best part of coming legalization is that everyone can grow some plants. I'm not sure how this in turn will affect ornamental varietals but if nothing else we can grow four outside for fun. :). Should be interesting seeing if people partake next year or not. Unless it's only indoors it's allowed, not sure. Have my own regulations so not really too concerned. 馃馃憤 Pollinated this lady with the gent beside again today. Takes a few days from what I see to have another build up of pollen, was also windy today otherwise would've waited a bit. But all the pollen from first and this shed I collected and blew over the female. New pistils are forming so can keep making seeds for a few weeks. Then I will wait the thirty days give or take for ripening of the seeds. Remember the trees? Well as promised they are still trees but I did have to bend the branches to get any kind of light penetration into the canopy as the branches are feet long. This room is running my spydrx+ as well which is more a lighting uniformity than intensity. (Still pushes 1200+ umol at canopy 馃槼) Two plants at massive size are #sourtangie 2, @dna_genetics #strawberryguava 6? @oni_seed_co @oninoodles And #harlesin cbd @sincityseeds #brucebanner3 3+4 @elev8genetics and a clone I took from something. Maybe sour tangie 1 or it's 3x/c3 from last round. (Lost tag, dropped three clones at same time, this one had roots. 馃槀) This room had the spider mites worse than the other side, so these ladies did receive a defoliation. Fairly solid one early in flower. Needless to say, defoliation is a joke and does not make better flowers. It slows the plant down, similar to a transplant shock, it just re cooperates and surely isn't growing faster. In fact I bet it's significantly slowed the flower production, not to mention the leafy regrowth of the blooms instead of pistil stacking now, trichomes on leaves don't mean good flowers friends. My favorite part of legalization is getting misinformation away form people and plants. Not to mention the "growers" out there that haven't a clue about horticulture beyond following a schedule defined by another. Fine for hobby but don't pretend to teach others as you are only hurting the community. When cannabis sells for 100/lb no one will care to pretend to be cool with growing, similar to tomatoes and food, no one will care. 馃槀. Odd isn't it. Do you have fungus gnats? Soil critters? Enjoyable little buggies aren't they? Nope not really, did you know they will be managed through proper soil microbiology? I didn't ether until I ordered the biological and at the same time worked at getting my soil on point. Diatomaceous earth can be added to AACT as well as top dresses (not sure I would ever let alone in flower... poof) Or just added to water and applied to plants. I'm curious if similar to slugs being eaten by nematodes, fungus gnats would be controlled by microbes as well. Either way I'm adding some more biological to ensure we have future control as well. He sticky traps don't show a lot more as of recent either. But it's a good practice to get into the habit of, so far I've used NeMs every batch with great results. Especially towards the end of flower when I lean to the wetter side of watering. Sticky plants are no place for flying insects either. ;). Literal death traps. Cannabis to carnivores plant. What is an "actively aerated compost tea"? I've noticed a few posts being excited by the "foam/bubbles" from their products being used, which i won't name, though they don't like sharing ingredients ;) Guess what.... these bubbles are simply made by a humic/fulvic powder and or a sea weed powder. Just FYI. As these bubbles u see in my photo are only those. 馃槀. And they mean nothing but off gassing a reaction, or simply that one has sufficient bubbles being injected and if turned down slightly will subside the overflow. I added some liquid genesis which is a bottled microbe inoculant/prebiotic. Then I also added some earth worm castings. (250-500ml) Let this bubble till next mornings watering. This however isn't even a compost tea. It is an extract with an amendment/prebiotic ingredient. Prebiotic meaning microbe food. .............---------............. An actively aerated compost tea made properly is made from a thermal compost or earth worm castings. It is meant to reproduce and "brew" the microbes. We add a few ingredients to feed to organisms we desire to apply to our soils or foliage. We also do not want simply bacterias. We would like a range of organisms from bacteria and fungi to Protozoa nematodes and arthropoda with limited ciliates. The shotgun approach of the soil food web growing style, aims to place as many organisms into the rhizosphere as possible and allow the plants and environment to dictate the populations and or symbiosis of organisms. For example a compost tea will almost never reproduce the same results. IMO maybe t doesn't need to as it's always brewing to the environment it's in and the ambient conditions. (Environment, weather, native populous etc). Microbes adapt very well but some better than others. #horticultureblogger #horticulturalist #homegrowncannabis #plantblog #plantnerd #plantsoverpills #plantpropagation #aeratedcomposttea #soilfoodweb #livingsoil #microbeorganics #microbiology #indoorfarming #indoororganic #organiccannabis #cannabisproducts #growingindoors #indoorgrow #composttea #probioticfarming #probioticcannabis #cannabiscanada #cannabisblogger #cannabiscaregiver #cannabisgrow #acmprcanada

Healthy roots will equal healthy shoots. Transplanting day today; I bought my first hydroponics reservoir, to use for mixing soil, and it works amazing. Holds the 100+ gallons a lot nicer for mixing. ......------....... How do you keep you soils consistent? Are the inputs measured, do you decide on Ratios or just make a pile as you go? It sure was easy when I potted thousands of lillies straight into Berger peat mix. No extra hassle just break and wet the bales properly and away one goes. Though we had a transport delivered of skids.... I mix a ratio. Mainly to bulk up a typically purchased bale and add up to 30% EWC. I also purchased mineral dusts to try. ............--------......... 5 gallon pro mix (base soilless) 5 g coir 5 g peat moss 5 g recycle last round soil pot 2 g earth worm castings. 1/2 cup kelp meal (70 grams) 1/2 cup diatom. Earth (35gr) 1/8 cup granular rock dust 1/8 cup carbonatite 1/8 cup oyster shell flour ........-------..... I potted everything up into potting moist media. I've been toying with the idea of always aiming that transplant towards end of day. They root at night. I also do not water them in right away, I would if they were going for a full start in regular temperatures. However since going into a night they wouldn't require more than they would've gotten previous to potting time. (As long as u didn't skip it to make it to potting, always checking) So this way they will make contact with soil and also both new and old soil will equalize a little bit sooner without having to over saturate one to compensate. In the morning they'll get a microbe extraction, with some probiotics for the microbes.
