After a week of serving and loving on the city of Houston, we treated the students to a day at Galveston complete with ice cream and pizza!

These students are so funny and kind and I can’t wait to see the way they continue to change their worlds! What a blessing GO! Houston has been!

Thursday was our last day of serving in Houston, what an awesome week we had!

Team 1 started the morning at their anchor site and played games before saying their goodbyes. Tears were shed but these are friends and memories that we will have for a lifetime no matter where we live. They then spent their afternoon in downtown Houston sharing their lunches with homeless people and seeing some of the tunnels that run 20ft underground.

Team 2 woke up early and went to Crossroads, a “one-stop shop”, where homeless people can get new clothes, breakfast and lunch, and a hot shower or haircut. They served meals to the guests and helped them pick out new clothes and shoes! Then, they went to their anchor site and decorated the van with their new friends! 

Today was also our teammate Ren’s birthday so we had plenty of treats and a water balloon fight to celebrate!
