“the food is great,” he compliments, mirroring your grin as you beam at the men gathered around your dining room table. it’s always been nice to have many people at dinner—which is why you proposed you have weekly meetups where you can cook for all of them and everyone on the team is free to show up and get their share. meian snickers at the way bokuto and hinata fight childishly over the last piece of grilled meat, swiping it right from under their noses.

“that’s what you get if you don’t guard it with your life,” he justifies his action while adriah and oliver shake their heads, amused. you just bring another tray of grilled meat and share it evenly among the men, telling them to be nice to each other.

the room is bustling with merry laughter and lots of chats on different topics as you take away dirty plates with the help of the libero—sakusa has already volunteered to wash the dishes so you can simply relax after they leave. “i know miya can be very loud, so you should rest. that’s eight of us that you had to feed and be nice to,” he explains as he hands you a clean mug so you can dry it and put it in its place.

“oh, now you’re just mean to atsumu.”

“i have no idea what you’re talking about.”

“liar. you like him, don’t you? he’s your friend.”

“never speak such preposterous words again.”

the laughter dies down into quiet chuckles and tired giggles as the cherry pies finally makes their way onto the table. you’ve made two and another one is still baking, just in case someone—you cough as you look at adriah, who seems to suddenly be very interested in the paintings on your walls—decides to eat one whole pie by himself like last time. the comment prompts everyone to cackle, you spot hinata falling from his chair and inunaki elbows the culprit, “we have chances this time! try not to repeat last week’s incident though.”

the night ends with displays of affection towards you—the eight athletes take turns in hugging you, spinning you around, kissing your cheeks, patting your head and using the super mega ultra secret handshake (can you guess to whom does it belong?) as they exit your new home one by one.

they’ll come by next week to empty your fridge again, don’t worry.

What do we say we make a trip there on Saturday, my friend?” Dark’s posture relaxed for a moment before downright panic crossed his face and he tried to snatch the pink phone away. Patton sounded overjoyed at the offer but hesitated. “Well...we won’t all be able to come I think, but I’d be delighted to accept.
