I had a client earlier who started out by saying, "Do you ever think I will make any money? I have the Sun in the 2nd opposed by Saturn." Like many, she has read that the 2nd House is money and, when it is stressed, it affects the financial potential. Nevermind if the person is, say, a rocket scientist, Oscar winning actor, CEO of a large corporation, etc. Saturn contacts to the Sun have a similar flavor to Saturn Rx. It shines a light on the father relationship. In this horoscope (my client), with the Sun ruling the 4th House, there could be no doubt that the father relatiinship impacted the sense of self-esteem. So, I asked, "Please tell me about the relationship with your father because the suggestion here is that the relationship with him has impacted how you feel about yourself in terms of worth and value. Once you come to grips with it and sort it out, yiu will be fine." Her response spit fire: "I hate him. He is a no-good, lying, cheating....." and it went on and on. This anger, which engulfed her Being, was the tail wagging the dog. All of her choices in life were based on it and because of it, she dropped out of college. That impacted her ability to maximize herself in a career. The problem was self-inflicted, NOT CAUSED by her tense Sun. We sketeched out a plan wherein she will return to school for the final year, get her degree, etc. More importantly, I was able to objectify her father syndrome by helping her to understand that he was as he is before she was ever born due to his own esteem issues and that his actions have to be seen in light of his problems. They are not to be taken personally. That is so much more productive than, "Oh well, sucks for you with that Sun in the 2nd opposed by Saturn." There is no fate or sentencing in a horoscope. The horoscope is a gift that tells you how to be the best you that you can be.
