i just loathe the state of higher ed so much sometimes. sorry i hate paying to be surrounded by people who arent even mildly excited or even willing to learn more than what they need to get a degree. why is college just extra high school now why am i made to feel elitist for wanting to engage with people that arent effectively anti-intellectual

#unfortunately so many critics of modern higher ed are just racists/classists mad about lowered standards but like. im surrounded by plenty #of people from minority/lower class backgrounds myself included that even if they didnt do well in high school come into class actually #wanting to learn and engage with lessons. in fact they make up most of the classmates i like having. its treating higher ed as purely #transactional that causes the absolutely dreadful climate. theres obv more socio-economic facets w/ college treated as the only tool #for social mobility and i get that im just. sighhh. some people shouldnt be in college and that shouldnt be elitist to say #how does that tweet go. ‘’stop trying to be streamers we need electricians’’ or something. that but replace ‘’streamer’’#with any white-collar bs job necessitating a bachelors for no reason
