word vomit of all my thoughts and/or headcanons about hws philippines because i canât stop thinking about him again
heâs the kind of guy who laughs in the face of adversity, but not because he thinks heâs the strongest or the most blessed, but because heâs so sure in his belief that darkness doesnât last. thereâs always something to smile about, for him
doesnât take a lot of things seriously, heâs just here to have live life to the fullest yo
the one thing he does take seriously is his faith: 90% of filipinos are christians, and 80% are catholics. this man will not compromise on his sunday mass, home altar, and a version of last supper in his dining room. during prayer is the one time youâll find phili uncharacteristically quiet and solemn.
but even his religious activities are full of bright colors and big energy! heâll do fluvial parades! huge processions! beauty pageants! and most importantly, heâll fill the town plaza with food stalls, night markets, thrill rides, and a whole lot more overnight! every month is a fiesta, baby! viva seĂąor santo niĂąo! viva pit seĂąor!
no, but seriously, the philippines celebrates more than 42,000 known fiestas every year. do the math and youâll realize that this man is literally on party mode every single day
he loves being among his people! one of his favorite things in the world is getting up early so he can sell bibingka to all the lovely old ladies who attend the 5am mass. heâs usually sold out an hour or two later, at which point he goes back to bed to sleep in until noon
heâs a pretty boy, and he knows it. why else would he be taking selfies all the time
he hates fighting, he really does. he hates getting involved in conflict and would much rather pretend like nothingâs wrong until everybodyâs tired of being angry. he bottles up negative feelings a lot
when he is angry, heâs very passive aggressive about it. you know youâve fucked up when he looks at you straight in the eye, smiles as wide as he can, and says âgod bless youâ with all the venom he can muster
you know how we sorta assign jobs to nations? like england is a writer, france is a chef, italy is a painter, and all that? phili is totally a hairdresser
he will sing mariah carey and/or beyonce at karaoke just to show off, but you canât even be mad about it because heâs actually a really good singer
he travels a lot! he talks big about all the urban city development of metro manila and cebu now, but heâd always rather prefer to relax in the cool breeze of baguio, the beaches of palawan and puerto galera, the waterfalls of â well, you get the point. man really loves nature
there is absolutely no way this man is in any way sexually attracted to a woman. you see his hair? his saucy wink? his half-lidded eyes as he puckers his lips for a selfie heâll share on his instagram account with thousands of followers? heâs a femme gay with a sassy streak and heâs loud and proud about it, baby
okay but seriously filipino humor, especially now in the age of social media, is built on the backs of gay and/or effeminate men and phili is definitely cut from the same cloth. you will pry this headcanon for my cold, dead hands. i am so sad i cannot provide an example that isnât in tagalog or dependent on how much youâre aware of everyday filipino life, but if youâre pinoy, iâm imagining the likes of davao conyo, vice ganda, ate gay, etc: lightning fast puns and comedic wordplay that usually doubles as a thrilling roast.
iâm sorry i was going to continue this but i got distracted by watching davao conyo vids. maybe iâll translate one of his viral tiktoks sometime if somebody asks for it
#hws#hws philippines#aph philippines#hetalia philippines#i really love him#also davao conyo is literally so funny please watch him if you can understand tagalog#mine#im projecting so much lmao im so sad that so many fiestas got cancelled because of covid :((((

Bike Touring the Philippines
Bobby Lagsa
For most of his life, Melchizedek "Merky" Aranas Garcia have been dreaming of traveling the entire Philippines-each of the 81 provinces, there is. His dream came true in 2019 when he biked around the country for the first time.
Merky is just one of the growing numbers of Filipinos who are taking the extreme length to pedal their ways around the country, exploring places most Filipinos can only dream of.

On February 24, 2021, Merky, along with fellow adventure bikers, Romeo Llante of Cavite and Valeri de Guzman of Baguio City started their journey to bike tour the archipelago all the way to Davao City where Merkey lives.
Garcia is a seafarer by profession and when he arrived in the country following a 14-months work onboard, he planned that he will bike his way home to Davao City.
Like Garcia, Llante is an engineer working in the Middle East for almost 10 years while de Guzman is a social entrepreneur.

This is not the first time for the trio to bike their way around the Philippines. Garcia did his first in 2019 right after getting off the ship. Llante also did an extended bike tour in 2019, spending six months on the road alone. de Guzman is also a veteran long-distance biker.

They left San Pedro, Laguna on the 24th of February, and for the next 45 days, they would pedal their way to Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
Garcia said that bike touring is an entirely different approach than just doing the Philippine Loop. âWith bike touring, your aim is to tour the country rather than just passing by, doing the Maharlika Route all the way to Mindanao and taking the RORO (Roll-on, Roll-Off) ship to cross the island,â Garcia said.
"The goal is to tour, not just speed your way around the country, without even stopping to enjoy the destinations," Garcia said.
âWhen I was growing up, I dream of biking my way around Mindanao. When I had my apprenticeship on board, I saw how beautiful the Philippines is,â Garcia said.
Garcia added that back then, he had no money and thought of just biking his way to get to places.

For Llante, it was an outlet to get away from the hustle of life in Cavite and from working overseas for an extended period.
OPEN TIME, OPEN BUDGET
What open time, open budget means is that they have no formal plans of what route they are going to take. âAnytime we can change our plan, we can change our route, we can change how long we are going to stay in a place,â Garcia said.
The trio agreed to their plan. They can spend as much time on the road as they can. They passed by countless tourism destinations during their 45 days on the road.

âI wanted to climb mountains,â Llante said. In his 2019 tour, he climbed 11 mountains including Mount Apo, Kitanglad in Bukidnon, Hibok-hibok in Camiguin Island.
They have crossed muddy road, climbed mountain roads just to get out-of-the-way waterfalls, rivers, and communities they wanted to explore.
âOur longest stay was in Samar, where we spent 2 weeks exploring the two provinces,â Garcia said.
They camped out in Huplag Adventure Camp in Bantayan Cliff, Ando Island, Borongan City where they get to experience sleeping on a hanging hammock with a 150 meters drop to the seas.

âWe waited for the replica of Magellanâs ship the Juan SebastiĂĄn Elcano to arrive in Guiuan, Eastern Samar,â Llante said.
When the El Cano arrived in Homonhon Island, they rented an outrigger to get closer to the ship. âSadly, we were not allowed to go on board because of Covid protocols,â Llante said.
After the El Cano crossing, they spend the next 2 days in Homonhon and Suluan Islands before heading back to the mainland and off their way to Leyte.
Along with their ways, they were met by fellow bikers who are only too eager to host them. âSometimes, I informed friends who I met during the 2019 tour that I am passing by,â Garcia said.
âSometimes, when they met us, they would bike with us to destinations, and when we get there, foods are already prepared for us,â Garcia said.

The trio, along with other bike clubs that hosted them, also held community engagement programs like feeding and giving school supplies for children.

LOGISTICS, PREPARATIONS
Biking for an extended period of time can be a difficult task and it takes determination and courage just to conquer steep climbs and muddy roads to get to their next destinations.
âBefore I arrived from my work onboard, I already planned my bike tour, told some of my friends Iâm doing a bike tour again,â Garcia said.
Garcia wanted to invite friends so that it will be more fun. âIt is more fun to share the road with friends who share the same passion as you are,â Garcia said.
Llante and de Guzman rise to the challenge of Garcia.

âMy bag only consisted of 3 short pants, shirts,â Garcia said. On his backpack, he carries his drone that would prove to be very useful in getting dramatic, scenic shots.
âYou only need to bring light materials, all our clothing are quick-dry,â Llante said.
Their daily budget is only 500 pesos per person per day, except for destinations that they would need to spend more, 500 was their daily budget which include foods, hotels, drinks.
"On the road, you need to eat well and hydrate well," Llante said.
âThe plan really is to set-up tents by sunset,â Garcia said.
âWe would sleep in barangay halls, beaches, gasoline stations, roads with trees we can hang our hammocks,â Llante added.

But mostly, Filipinos welcomed them to their homes, offering sleeping spaces. Experiencing the hospitality of the Filipino people was a humbling experience. "We are strangers and yet they welcome us, provide us shelter and food as we share our stories with them," Garcia said.
âWhen there is nowhere else to sleep, we would pay entrance fees to resorts and just camp on the beach,â Llante added.
There were days also that they do really need to take a good sleep to recover physically and had to spend nights in resorts or inns. âWe need to rest, but hotels are our last resort,â Garcia said.
They also agreed never to travel during nighttime, except for one instance during the first few days of the tour. after pedaling for almost 18 hours, they arrived in Naga City around 11 pm raking in almost 200 kilometers.
âWe agreed to pedal only during daylight, where sunset catches us up, we would set up camp for the night, we are not in a hurry anyway,â Garcia said.
200 kilometers is the most the pedaled in a single day, after that, their average is just about 80 kilometers per day.
There are times that they would need to rest at noon for an extended time as the heat of the sun becomes almost unbearable. âWe rest where we wanted to, we donât plan of getting to this town or that town, we stop at sunset,â Garcia said.
When they arrived in Davao City where Garcia is from, de Guzman had to make her way to Cagayan de Oro and left the two. De Guzman could be in Cebu as of this writing, doing her Cebu loop on and on her way to Negros Island.
THE PHILIPPINES IS A BEAUTIFUL COUNTRY
Garcia and Llante eventually pedaled their way to this city, spending two days along Sayre Highway, exploring Bukidnon. They arrived here on May 1 and spent 4 days here exploring and meeting with fellow Philippine Bike tour loopers.
Words on the biking community here were that de Guzman was met by an all-female bikers group and was given a warm welcome.
Bike touring the Philippines was a humbling experience for Garcia and Llante. They have pedaled almost 3 thousand kilometers and visited most provinces along the Maharlika Highway.
Garciaâs count crossed out 63Â out of 81 provinces since he started his bike tour in 2019. Llante crossed out 11 mountains, and almost visited each province in the Philippines.
They have seen most of Filipinos can only dream of- touring the entire Philippines, learning cultures and traditions, meeting people, and experienced lgendary Filipino hospitality and conquering their own selves.
Garcia and Llante is a testament of achieving dreams even if it means just being armed with just bare necessities.
Garcia and Llante is now planning their next bike tour, hoping that more bikers would join them.
NOTE:
all photographs were provided by Merky Garcia
FOR THEIR 2021 Philippine Bike Tour, Garcia spent 35 thousand while Llante spent 50 thousand.
Since Valerie de Guzman was already in Cebu, she was not around for the interview.

Endlessly
04162020
March 25, 1920
Dear You,
I am writing this letter just to let you know that I still miss you so much, my love. Being far from home is not easy, I made a lot of adjustments here in our dormitory. We do a lot of scheduled daily tasks, also the housemistress is very strict. I cannot eat my mom's special calderata, I don't really like the foods here, the amount is small and it tastes way too different from my mom's cooking. I miss the smell of my father's brewed coffee as I woke-up every morning. I miss the sound of the water from the Estero and the cool breeze of the wind from my window. I miss Binondo, and most importanly, you.
It's 8:30 in the evening, the housemistress will do the head count and evening checking at 9. Writing this letter for a short span of time is not easy, especially now that I am expressing how much I long for you. I still remember the first time that we met. I was riding the Kalesa with ate Maria, on the Calle Escolta. And I saw you lifting a sack of flour on the famous Pan De Sal bakery. You held my hand and help me get down from the Kalesa to get the orders from your shop. And that moment of time, I fell inlove with you. I remember the times when I used to sneak from our house's window during dark and we are going to ride the boat and roam along the Estero de Binondo. You are holding my hand, and we are both hoping not to get caught. As we look at the stars above, and the moon shines through us. We used to do a morning walk on the Calle Real Palacio and enjoy the scent of the fresh Kalachuchi. You also love to pick a pink gumamela, and put it beside my ears while telling me how lovely I am and how much you want to be with me.
I can't also forget the time that you held the guitar and sing for me in the Plaza Moraga during the town's feast. I was so happy that time and I feel like I was the luckiest woman in the world. You held my hand, and asked for the permission of my parents. And we danced. We danced under the stars while you speak to me, telling me how beautiful I am that night, telling me how much you appreciate me. After that, you ask me to marry you and I said yes. We were just so happy.
But the world is uncertain and things always change. Two months before our wedding day, a letter came to me. I was accepted by my dream university here in Baguio City. This is something that I've been waiting for a very long time, this is my dream. But chasing this dream for myself also means losing you. And I don't want that to happen. I tried not to chase this dream for myself and just be happy with you. But you pushed me, you pushed me to do this for myself. You made me choose this dream instead of you. It's hard, but you promised that you will wait for me. Even if it takes forever.
But promises are meant to be broken. I know that you won't read this letter and there is no chance of seeing you again. But I want you to know, that I still mourn for you. That I will never have the chance to move on and get over from that night. That night when a letter came to me telling that you died from an accident. It still feels like a dream to me. All our hopes, all of the things that we planned together were just gone, in a snap. I can't do anything, I can't force things to happen. It hurts, I still cry every night my love. I miss you so much. And writing this letter is just my way to live in a dream. A dream that you and I are still together. Maybe another place, maybe another time. Till then, let's say goodbye I see you in another life. You will always be my love, my life and my everything. I know that will meet again, someday. Someday.
Forever Your Love
~
Today is March 25, 1970. It was so weird that I saw this letter out of nowhere while cleaning my dorm. And upon reading this, I didn't notice that I was already crying. I can feel the pain of the woman who wrote this. I don't know who this person is, nor the ending of their story but I hope that she found her happiness.
I pick the letter and put it on the box of my stuff. I insert my newly purchased CD on the Sylvania console stereo. This is a gift from my father before I left Cebu to study here in Baguio city. He knows so well that I love music so much and it was some sort of magic that makes me feel comforted. I played Let It Be, the last song that was released by my favorite band, The Beatles. Two weeks had passed since Paul McCartney stated that he is leaving the band. It was heart breaking especially for me, who is a big fan of this band. Sadly, I prepare for my morning class while listening to their last song.
Long day was over. Everything is just typical. Acads, people, routine. Though it was still tiring. I am a Fine Arts student in University of The Philippines here in Baguio City. Living an independent life is not easy. I miss my family so much, I miss my mom's cooking, my dad's silly joke as we spend our time under the mango tree during siesta. I miss my friends in Cebu, the sea, the farm. I miss everything about my home. The sun is setting and I am walking along the busy street of the Session Road while wearing my earphones. I decided to eat my dinner alone on Inihaws, my favorite restaurant here. While eating my dinner, I noticed a boy who keeps staring at me. I tilted my body to block his view, it feels awkward and creepy. As I continue to eat my food, I can see on my peripheral vision that he is still staring at me. I heaved a sigh and look directly to his eyes, I waved my hand and patted the seat beside me. Asking him to come and sit.
âWhat are you staring at?" I asked arrogantly.
He pouted his lips, pointing my plates and artworks. Ah, so he's looking at my artworks.
âWhat about them?" I asked him.
âThey're nice and classic, I love them. Fine arts?" He talks so manly and attractive, uhh?
âYup. There is just something that I saw this morning which inspired me for my plate today"
I explained as we both looked on the sketch of a woman riding a Kalesa, and a man who is holding her hand, they are both alive and smiling. They are the people on the letter that I read this morning.
The conversation went smoothly. I found out that he is an Architecture student on Saint Louis University, we are both into arts. I got no stuff to do this evening, so I decided to go with him as he asked me to have an evening walk along the Session Road. We talk about our interest, arts, music, things that we are fond of. We got a lot of things in common. He talks a lot, and I like how quick-witted he is as he tells a lot of jokes. We didn't notice the hour, it was already 10 in the evening. I do not as well, but I don't feel scared on this man that I just met few hours ago. I feel comfortable and we have this sort of connection like we knew each other on the past. We spent the night telling each other's story. We went to his small art room, and he painted me. He ask me to hold a plastic flower as I smile while he is painting me. It seems like I met a stranger, and this whole night is like a fairy-tale.
It was already 3 in the morning, we are sitting on the grass while we look on the city lights below. It was so beautiful. As well as the man beside me, he is lovely. I didn't ask for his name but it feels like I already know him so well. He tilted his head on my direction and caught me staring at him, he smiled and out of nowhere, his face turns sad.
âI'm married" he said.
I was shocked. I was hurt, and there is something that stings on my chest.
âI know you since we were freshmen, I first saw you sketching on the Inihaws. You are alone and you seem so committed with your passion. I find it so adorable, the way you move your hand, the way you put your hair on the side of your ears. The way you frown your forehead as you make some mistakes. I fell in love with you, the first time I saw you. Since then, I always follow you. I see you walking on the street while wearing your earphones. I always see you eating alone on the Inihaws. I always see you smiling on the street vendors, you are adorable as you say your good morning to them. And when I finally decided to introduce and show myself to you. My mom from Sagada called me. Asking me to come home. That day, I went home to Sagada. I saw my ex-girlfriend, and she has a child â our child. We were a stubborn, inlove teenagers during high school. We broke up just like a typical puppy love story. But I didn't know, that I got her pregnant. My son is already two years old when she showed up. She can't raise our child alone, so she decided to tell it to me and my family. Two months after, we get married."
My heart is aching as I listened to his story, I feel bad for him, I feel bad for us. I didn't speak a word. I just let myself stare on the city lights below. I can't process my thoughts right now. Feels like the fairytale is finally over. Surprisingly, he held my hand.
âI love my son, he is the reason why I am working hard to become an Architect. I love her mother, but not the way that I love you from a far. I fell in love with you and you deserve to know it. I was so happy loving you from afar, and thank you for that. Maybe another place, maybe another time. Till then, let's say goodbye I see you in another life, Stella"
He called my name, and he left.
Those were the last thing that he said that night. And I never saw him again. Maybe, maybe someday we will have the chance to love each other not just from afar. We will be together, someday.
~
March 25, 2020. This is it, this is the day that me and friends are finally seeing each other! After one year of not meeting everyone because of College, we're finally going out today. We chose the art exhibit as a venue for our date today. I'm excited! I kissed my mom as I went downstairs for breakfast, she teased me that our plan for today will be cancelled because of my excitement. I love my mom so much but sometimes, I hate her for ruining my moments hmp. I eat my favorite egg roll and decided to ignore her.
The time is 2:30 in the afternoon. I am already prepared for today's meeting. I drove the car and play my classic OPM playlist. I love music so much, and I can't live without it. Kamikazee's Tagpuan is currently playing, I bang my head and sang along with the melody of the song. It's 4 in the afternoon when I arrived at the venue. It is odd because I see no familiar face here. I opened my phone to ask where they are, and found out that the exhibit plan was cancelled during the last minute. And they decided to just eat on the restaurant nearby our place. I don't know what to feel, I feel bad for not checking my phone before leaving the house. I feel bad for being excited, mom is right. I don't know but I kinda felt lazy to go on the restaurant near our place because I traveled to get here for 2 hours. My excitement just all went down. I get in the car and think. Upon fighting with my thoughts I decided to just stay here and continue the exhibit plan, alone. It is a new experience though.
I went inside and everything feels amazing. Iâm not an artsy kind of person, I donât have any talents in art but one thing is sure â I really do appreciate art. I love to spend my time on looking at the green grass outside, the blue sky above and the beauty of nature. I do love aesthetic things because it reminds me that despite of being cruel, beautiful things on this world still exist. The ambience is nice, the people are few but I can see that they are enjoying the paintings inside the hall. I walk and took a photograph of the artworks. After that, I posted it on my instagram story and send it to our group chat to tell them that I canât make it on our dinner anymore. And I decided to just stay here and stick to the original plan.
I roam around the hall and appreciate the beauty of art. While walking, a painting caught my attention. It was a woman with curly hair, and she was smiling from ear to ear. She was wearing a floral dress and holding a piece of rose. The woman seems so happy and I can feel the genuine emotion of the one who painted it. Is her boyfriend the one who painted her? It was romantic. Suddenly, I feel something weird and unexplainable on my chest, I can really feel something on this painting. Something that is connected with me.
âIt was nice and classic, isnât it lovely?â
I was shocked when someone has spoken out of nowhere, I tilted my head on the direction of the voice, it was a man. He was wearing a black shirt, and he is holding a camera. He is smiling sincerely while looking at the painting, weird but it seems like the voice came from the painting itself.
âUhh yes. This painting feels so real and sincere. I can feel the emotion of both the painter and the subjectâ I said while looking directly at the painting. And I was smiling.
Our conversation went smoothly, and it seems like I found an instant date. He talks a lot and I found out that we were on the same University. He is an Engineering student, and he loves to play the guitar. I felt fascinated because I was attracted with men who are inclined to music. We roam around the hall and we were just so happy. Finally, long day is over and we bid our good byes. But before that, he asked for my phone number.
Oh shoot. I forgot to ask his name. But nevermind, I still have a lot of chance to meet him again. I smiled as my phone beeps and I got a text message from an unknown number.
âTake care, I had a good time. See you aroundâ -Mr. Engineer
Thatâs the text message. I went home with a big smile on my face, the date with my friends have been cancelled. But I found a new experience today. Something more happy, and amazing. I lay in bed and look at the ceiling of my room along with its fake galaxy. I smiled as I remember the man that I met few hours ago. While giggling, I replied on his text message.
âGood night, Mr. Engineer! Had a good time tooâ -Ms. Psychologist.
To sum it up, we talk on the phone everyday. He always made my day, he always make me smile. He jokes a lot and he had a lot on his mind. He is quick-witted and very manly. After a few weeks of talking, I admit that I already had a crush on him. Along with that, we decided to spend our time together. And as time passed by, I am knowing him more and more.
We had the same interest in almost everything. We watched the same movies together. We listen to our favorite songs. We eat our favorite foods. Though we never share any of our favorite foods, especially him who can fight with anyone who touches his food, even me. We travelled places to taste various delicacies. We went to church regularly to pray. He became a part of my everyday. He loves picking a flower and putting it on the side of my ears. He loves playing the guitar for me.
It was really nice, to found someone who appreciates every little thing on you. Someone who can lend his ears and shoulder to listen. Someone who can cheer you up whenever you are feeling down. He loves kissing me, but loves hugging me more. I felt home and safe on his arms. It was weird but there is something that is telling me, that we really had the connection and we knew each other a very long time ago. All that he made me feel was something new. It was my first time, to fall inlove with someone. I had no doubts and regrets.
But the world is always uncertain, there are lots of things that we are unsure, so is us. We are just happy, and then in just a snap we parted our ways, and we fell apart. Maybe another place, maybe another time. Till then letâs say good bye, I see you in another life. I know that he is a blessing from God, and whatever it takes. We will meet again, someday.
Parang isang panaginip, Ang muling mapagbigyan, tayo ay muling magkasama.
Panatag na ang kalooban ko, At ikaây kapiling ko na Kay tagal kitang hinintay
I smiled as this classic song by Spongecola played on my carâs stereo. Today is 25th of March, 2025. And I am finally seeing him again. I smiled, a nervous smile mixed with excitement.
It was weird because last night, as I was fixing my stuff in our Ancestral house in Bagac, Bataan, I saw an old box . It was a collection of CDs, some of the albums are from The Beatles. And I saw a very old letter, the pen was already disappearing and it was already stained. The letter was from March 25, 1920. It was very old ; a hundred and five years ago. Along with the letter, I also saw an artwork. A sketch of a woman riding a Kalesa, and a man who is holding her hand, they are both alive and smiling on this artwork. I asked mom about this stuff, and she said that it belongs to my great grandmother, Stella. It was her stuff during her college days on Baguio City.
Anyway, after the very long wait. I am finally seeing him again.
The hall is full of people. I am wearing a red polka dots dress, I know that black is his favorite color but I want to show him something new. It seems like I was lost in the crowd and I canât see him anywhere. But as I was walking through the sea of people, someone held my hand and whispered.
âYou look so beautiful, baby. You never changedâ I got teary-eyed as I heard his voice. Oh God, I miss him so much. I miss this man. The man that I lost and the same man that I found again. The long wait is over, we finally have the chance to be with each other. I hugged him tight, the only man that I ever loved, love and I will love wherever and whenever.
âBaby, Iâm no angel, Iâm just me. But I will love you endlesslyâ those were the words that I whispered through his ear.
âWe parted our ways together, we fell apart but fate will always make a way for us. Time will always tell. In another place, in another time, we will always be together, our love is endlessâ
Words that I said, while directly looking into his eyes.
Itâs 25th of March, year 2030. And today is our wedding day.

Themed surveys are the shit yâall. There should definitely be more of these.
General
Where is your country? My country is in Asia â specifically in Southeast Asia, which I recently learned a lot of people outside Asia arenât aware of. Weâre situated just right below China and we neighbor Brunei, Malaysia, and Indonesia. How big is your country? Itâs moderately large, but when you consider how many we are, we are an extremely small country. What is the population of your country? 109 million. Iâm not sure if this is still updated, but weâre around the 12th most populated country in the world. Compare that with how weâre only the 77th in terms of size. How would you describe the landscape? We are an archipelago, which means our country is essentially a collection of thousands of little islands â 7,107 in total. Side note: this means itâs always been extremely hard to make an attempt to be âunitedâ as a nation, due to the fact that we are literally separated from one another. But besides that, yeah weâre made up of a lot of islands which means going from one province to another typically requires you to travel via plane, boat, or ferry. Aside from the tiny islands that we have, our country has three main islands, of which the small ones are a part of â Luzon (which is where Manila is and where I live), Visayas, and Mindanao. The Philippines is also part of the Pacific Ring of Fire, which means we have a number of active volcanoes and that we are prone to hurricanes â and we do get them, badly, every year. We also have a number of mountain ranges consisting mostly of tropical rainforests; these ranges, while beautiful, make traveling from province to province quite a challenge. Which part of your country do most people live in? Oh Manila, without a doubt. Most people, especially from the provinces, want to move to Manila because itâs the economic hub and everyone has an ideal image of it bearing opportunity for them. Unfortunately it is never what it seems and Manila is instead filled with the urban poor, some homeless and some living in shanties or illegal settlements. A lot also live in the cities surrounding Manila in a region we call Metro Manila (or, officially, the National Capital Region) to have closer access to Manila, and also because these cities have proven to give them a better life as well.
Tell me about the main industries there. The main economy is agriculture, but since then weâve been making a shift to manufacturing and the service industries. While the shift looks good on paper, it has since meant that our farmers have been neglected and they remain extremely poor despite the effort they put into their work. Our biggest exports are sugar, coconuts, rice, bananas I think?, pineapples, and mangoes. Tourism is also an important industry and unfortunately weâve been hit hard by the coronavirus. Nevertheless, significant tourist spots include Boracay, Puerto Galera, Palawan, Siargao, Baler, Vigan, La Union, and Baguio. Lastly â while itâs not an âindustryâ per se, millions upon millions of Filipinos also try their luck abroad as OFWs (Overseas Filipino Workers) for better opportunity and higher pay. As a result, their remittances to the country is one of the biggest things that contribute to our economy every year, because these OFWs are usually the breadwinners and thus send money to their families, which obviously end up pouring into the national economy. What agricultural products are produced by your country? Iâve already mentioned them, but weâre essentially powerhouses in producing rice, sugar, coconuts, corn, rubber, several fruits such as pineapples and bananas, and a type of material called abaca.
Food and drink
What traditional dishes are served in your country? Which is your favorite? Whatâs the recipe? We have many, considering PH has a very rich native culture. A lot of our dishes have been inspired by Spanish and Chinese culture, such as lechon (whole roasted pig) and afritada (meat and veggies in tomato sauce) for Spanish cuisine; and siopao (a bread-like dumpling), siomai (our version of Chinese dumplings), and pancit (noodles) for Chinese cuisine. But besides those, we also have come up with our own such as dinuguan (pork blood stew), sisig (chopped pigâs cheek skin, ears, and liver), and sinigang (meat or seafood in sour broth). My personal favorite is kare-kare , which is oxtail and vegetables in peanut sauce. I dunno how to cook it but both my grandmothers have the best recipes.
What drinks is your country famous for? Weâre not particularly known for our drinks as much as for our food, but we do have sagoât gulaman and taho. Fruit shakes are also widely popular, and so is coconut juice. We also produce several variants of coffee, such as barako and arabica.
What alcoholic drinks are produced in your country?Again, not really internationally renowned for drinks but Filipinos LOVE their beer. Popular favorites include San Miguel Pale Pilsen, San Mig Light, and Red Horse. Tuba and lambanog are notable local alcoholic drinks but tbh theyâre so native and mostly consumed in the province that as a city girl, I donât even know what theyâre made of, and I mostly read of them in books lmao.
Are there any stories behind traditional foods? Not really. But essentially, Filipinos have historically lived in the wild, with some provinces more remote than others; and a lot of people are generally poor. That means itâs in our blood to have to make do with what we have, which is why a lot of our dishes are composed of things that may be conceived as weird by others, such as duck embryo, chicken intestines, or pigâs cheeks. Weâre not âunculturedâ or âdisgusting,â weâre only from a different culture with very different origins than that of the West.
Political
What is the political system in your country? I just know we live in a democracy, but the official system name for our government is apparently a unitary presidential constitutional republic; thanks, Wikipedia.
Who is in power at the moment? Unfortunately we currently have a garbage of a President, and an internationally notorious one at that â Rodrigo Duterte.
How is your country dealing with the current financial crisis? I honestly donât know how to answer this. The Philippines has never been one of the top dogs when it comes to global economy, and as far as I know weâve always played it safe when it comes to this, so we donât really get seriously hit when financial crises happen.
What can you say about the leaders of your country? Miserable. Most of our senators did not deserve a seat, but there they are. As it stands, we have a TV host, a boxer (Manny Pacquiao, no less), a former police chief, and an actor in the Senate. A number of personalities in the entertainment industry have also found careers in politics. This means a lot of the things that are urgent and need lots of rational decision-making are always handled poorly and haphazardly. A lot of politicians are known to be corrupt, stealing millions of money and spending more than they earn â but they always get away with it, the ones who are supposed to be the watchdogs of corruption are also their allies. The genuinely good politicians are always overpowered, silenced, arrested, killed, ostracized â and lose elections.
The elections system is just as sad. Most, if not all, candidates, appeal to emotion and literally exploit the poor by using them as talent in their commercials to show the other poor people watching TV that they are on their side â and because the poor donât have access to education and donât know any better, they end up voting for them, even though these candidates donât actually give a single fuck about the poor. Many spend hundreds upon millions for TV and radio ads for 30-second spots. Election violence, vote buying, and ghost voting are widespread.
Cities
How would you describe the capital city and any other main cities? Manila is a sad shell of what it used to be. Look up photos of Manila in the 50s and 60s, and youâd see it looks no different than the streets of Los Angeles or New York. Today itâs neglected, overpopulated, congested, and resided by people who were once filled with hopes and dreams about Manila. Thereâs a side of Manila that is beautiful and pretty wealthy â the part along Manila Bay â but this side is only riddled with Chinese businessmen, most of whom treat Filipinos like shit. Quezon City, Makati, and Ortigas are the economic and financial hubs surrounding Manila and for the most part these cities are known as the hip places and itâs where the youth and adults hang out. Itâs where the malls, bars, restaurants are, and these cities are the ones shrouded in Western influence; but because people do flock to these places, the cost of living is extremely high from parking fees to condominiums. The major city in Visayas is Cebu and in Mindanao, Davao; but given that Iâve only been to Cebu once, and Davao never, I canât say much about them. What special attractions can be found in each city? Manila has Rizal Park and tons of museums but the city itself isnât a favorite among foreign tourists; these people usually go to our beaches like Boracay and Palawan, or the cities that offer a more local scenery, like Baler, Bohol, and Ilocos.
Sports and games
What is the most popular sport in your country? How do you play it? Basketball, FOR SURE. Every barangay or municipality has their own basketball court â literally. Filipinos are just basically obsessed with it whether itâs the NBA, the PBA, or basketball even at the collegiate level. Are there any sports or games unique to your country? Very few. Weâve mostly gotten eaten up by Western culture and patronize sports such as basketball, boxing, and volleyball. The only traditional sport I know of is arnis, which even I know very little about except for the fact that itâs a martial art that involves sticks. When is the best time to watch them? Iâve never watched a game of arnis. And I generally donât watch sports, so Iâm not the best person to answer this lmao. How well does your country do in international competitions? I donât follow a lot but weâve made our mark here and there. Obviously Manny Pacquiao is a boxing legend, but we also have Hidilyn Diaz for weightlifting, Efren Reyes for billiards, Paeng Nepomuceno for bowling, Carlos Yulo for gymnastics, and Lydia de Vega for track. Are there any sports that foreign visitors practice in your country? I donât think so. Is football (soccer) popular in your country? If so, which are the best teams? Not really.
Weather
Is the weather very different in different parts of the country? No. Itâs mainly tropical, with extremely humid summers and itâs moderately cold by the end of the year. Only cities with high elevation, like Baguio and Sagada, get EXTREMELY cold during the Ber months, which makes them popular vacation spots during Christmas haha. Sometimes the temperature will dip down to 10 or 9 degrees Celsius, which is a huge deal here.
Can you describe the seasons? We donât have the conventional âseasonsâ yâall have. We have two main ones â warm and wet. Wet is just the season with typhoons, warm is either summer, or a period with no typhoons. Pretty straightforward.
What is the best time to visit? It depends on where youâre going. Going to Baguio, for example, is the best during the colder months (October to December) to really maximize the colder weather. Going to the beaches is ideal in April to June.
Language
What languages are spoken in your country? Nearly 200, but official languages are Filipino and English. What language do you usually hear on the streets? Filipino. But it depends where I am, too. In wealthier cities, Iâll hear English more. How many people speak English in your country? A good number; Iâd say 60-70% can understand or speak basic English. Those who can speak it conversationally comprise a smaller amount. Some still live in pretty remote areas and thus have no concept of English.
Customs
Is there a particular national costume? Can you describe it? Yeah, for the woman we have baroât saya, and for the men we have the barong Tagalog. Just Google them lmao.
Are there any special local dances? What are they like? Several ones, like tinikling (a dance where you have your feet play with bamboo poles routinely beat together or tapped by two other people) and cariĂąosa, a romantic dance. But due to the Western influence here, people are more prone to get into hip-hop or contemporary dance more. Are the people generally friendly? Without a doubt, yes. Filipinos are extremely known for their hospitality. If a tourist were to knock on our door right now we would definitely let him in, make him dinner, and my mom would probably ask me to give my bedroom to him for the night. What are some special customs or traditions in your country?
We have the mano po, which is when younger individuals would greet their seniors/superiors by taking the older personâs right hand with their right hand, and placing the back of the older personâs right hand it onto their forehead. Itâs a significant sign of respect and to avoid doing it is extremely impolite.
We also have the concept of community spirit, or bayanihan. Basically, if one is in need, everyone in the same community steps up and helps. The quinetessential example for this is when one has to move their hut to a new location (Filipinos before were nomadic), all the neighbors swoop in to help lift the hut and carry it all the way to the new place.Â
Courtship was an important step in traditional society, and the man would do a harana, or serenade the woman while playing the guitar, in front of her house while she looks out her window.
Noche Buena is the traditional midnight meal (kinda like our version of Thanksgiving) that we have by the end of Christmas Eve to usher in Christmas Day
Po and opo are filler words used to denote respect, and is always affixed to the end of sentences when speaking with elders. Itâs not required, but of course youâll look like a disrespectful asshole if you donât use it with older people.
History
What can you tell me about the history of your country?
Pre-colonial Philippines was rich and vibrant, and one that would be considered pretty fucking progressive even today â transgender people were welcome, women were of a higher social status than men, among others.Â
This all changed when the Spaniards came and tl;dr ruined everything for us. They wiped out our folk religions, literature, songs, legends, epics, and everything good that we had going. Friars abused us physically, sexually, and economically; everyone was forced to convert to Catholicism; early newspapers were shut down; forced labor was imposed; anyone who disagreed with their rule was killed.
After 333 years we were sold to the US for $20 million. Americans gave us the modern education system, a modern government system, a richer literature, religious freedom, and of course, the English language. But they also brought us colonial mentality and materialism, which persists to this day. Americans were also racist towards us and the only reason we have international schools today is because these were actually started up by American soldiers so that theirâ kids would have schools that didnât have native Filipinos in them.Â
By WWII, Japan destroyed the Philippines, leaving us to start from scratch. They bombed Manila, raped our women and young girls and made them sex slaves, brutally murdered everybody else who werenât women and young girls, stole everything from us, and established a puppet government in Manila to bully us further. The only reason they gave us independence was because US had dropped atomic bombs onto Hiroshima and Nagasaki, and they had no choice but to surrender.
Three colonizers has left us pretty traumatized, something weâve never truly recovered from to this day. Our political system is shaky, our sense of identity is lost, weâve never been truly âunitedâ as a nation, and the Catholic penetration has made us a widely conservative, pro-life, anti-LGBT country.
Did your country gain independence from another country? If so, when and how did this happen? See above.
#survey#surveys#bruh i feel like i just wrote a research paper#I TOOK 3 HOURS ANSWERING THIS#but it was very fun

Everything You Need To Know About Dentistry
Being a dentist has its perks and hardships. Yes, studying to be any kind of a medical doctor is hard and you will definitely face some challenges, crisis, and struggles, but, it will all be worth it in the end when you become a doctor. A dentist is no stranger to that, because when you see the smiles on the faces of your patients, itâll feel like all your weariness fades.
But first, what is dentistry? It is the treatment of diseases and other conditions that affect the teeth and gums, especially the repair and extraction of teeth and the insertion of artificial ones. A specialist or doctor that practices dentistry is called a dentist and will be given the title of DMD or Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry
Now, here are some things that you need to know about dentistry; the types of dental specialists, the importance of dentists and dentistry, the benefits of being a dentist, and of course, how and where YOU can study to become a dentist yourself!
6 TYPES OF DENTAL SPECIALISTS
Endodontist:Â Root canal specialist
Inside the teeth are tiny cavern-like passages called canals that contain sensitive living tissue, blood vessels, and nerves. Endodontists specialize in diagnosing and treating issues within our tooth. For example, if your toothâs pulp becomes infected you may need a root canal.
Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon:Â Oral surgery specialist
This specialist focuses on treating problems related to the hard and soft tissues of the face, mouth, and jaw. Oral and maxillofacial surgeons specialize in treatments that require complex procedures or deep levels of sedation â beyond nitrous oxide or laughing gas. Procedures performed by oral surgeons include tooth extractions, corrective jaw surgery, and cleft lip or cleft palate surgery.
Orthodontist: Alignment specialist
Orthodontics is about correcting teeth and jaws that are out of position. You may see an orthodontist if your jaw isnât aligned properly leading to an overbite, under bite or cross bite. You may see an orthodontist if your teeth are crooked or misaligned. In these situations, an orthodontist may use braces, clear aligners, palatal expanders, or headgear as part of your treatment plan.
Pediatric Dentist:Â Kid dental specialist
Pediatric dentists are to a childâs oral health like pediatricians are to their overall health. Theyâre dentists who specialize in the oral development and care of children from infancy through their teens. Pediatric dentists help your child stay on the path to a lifelong, healthy smile. They provide routine exams and cleanings, habit counseling (stop thumb sucking), fillings for cavities, and diagnosis of oral conditions associated with other diseases like childhood diabetes.
Periodontist:Â Gum specialist
Periodontal dentistry focuses on the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases that affect the gums, and other structures that support the teeth. Periodontists recognize and treat the early stages of gum disease, perform minor surgery to resolve severe gum disease, and restore the appearance of your smile.Â
Prosthodontist:Â Replacement specialist
Prosthodontists focus on restoring and replacing lost or damaged teeth. Prosthodontists have a unique understanding of everything that goes into a beautiful, functional, and natural-looking smile. Prosthodontists specialize in porcelain veneers, crowns, dental implants, fixed bridges, dentures, and reconstructive dentistry.
IMPORTANCE OF DENTISTS / DENTISTRY
A Healthy Mouth Is Good For Your Body
Taking good care of your mouth, teeth and gums is a worthy goal in and of itself. Good oral and dental hygiene can help prevent bad breath, tooth decay and gum diseaseâand can help you keep your teeth as you get older.
A healthy mouth may help you ward off medical disorders. An unhealthy mouth, especially if you have gum disease, may increase your risk of serious health problems such as heart attack, stroke, poorly controlled diabetes and preterm labor.
Teeth that function properly allow good nutrition is critically important to health and well-being. Teeth that function properly are essential for optimal nutrition. Unhealthy teeth and gums can contribute to systemic conditions as bacteria from the mouth can more easily enter the blood stream. A smile also reveals a great deal about a personânot only oneâs disposition, but how much value one places on appearance as well. It is an important ingredient for success and self-esteem. A nice smile communicates confidence, attractiveness and friendliness.
Successful dentistry should last for many years in health, provides comfort and function, improves esthetic appearance and often includes a contingency plan in the event that something goes wrong. Dentistry, like the rest of the structures in the human body, may not last a lifetime. Successful Dentistry, however, preserves the teeth for the day when the dental restorations must be remade due to changes in the oral cavity or wear of the materials.
 DUTIES OF BEING A DENTIST
Dentists help their patients protect, restore and maintain their oral health. They diagnose and treat diseases, and administer care to injuries and malformations of the teeth, oral tissues and the mouth. Dentists also check a patient's head and neck areas as they relate to oral health.
Your job duties as a dentist include restoring and replacing teeth that have been damaged through disease or injury, and advising patients on proper oral health care to prevent future problems. This includes teaching your patients how to floss, brush their teeth and choose an appropriate diet. Other tasks include applying sealants to teeth, taking molds of teeth, extracting teeth, and performing cosmetic dental procedures to improve a patient's appearance.
Dentists employ a variety of procedures and equipment to prevent and treat oral health problems. You'll use advanced technologies to examine the teeth and mouth, including X-rays and computer-generated imaging. You'll fill cavities and remove tooth decay using brushes, forceps and drills.
In addition to patient care, a dentist's duties may include administrative and business-oriented tasks related to owning or running a dental practice. For instance, you might interact with suppliers and vendors. Depending on the size of the practice, you might also do bookkeeping. Management of personnel, including hiring, training and supervising hygienists, receptionists and other dental staff, may be part of the job.
 BENEFITS OF BEING A DENTIST
You can specialize according to your interests
If you opt for a career in dentistry, you can pursue many avenues. For example, you might opt to focus on cosmetic procedures so that you can transform the appearance of a patientâs mouth. Alternatively, you might want to spend most of your time on oral and maxillofacial pathology, researching and managing the major diseases that affect the head, neck, face and jaw.
You will have varied experiences and meet different people
A career in dentistry will guarantee that you will never be bored. Every day, you will see a wide range of patients with unique problems and goals when it comes to their dental health. In addition, you will have a chance to meet very different people from all sorts of backgrounds during a career in dentistry, and part of your job will involve being able to relate to these people in a way that makes them feel comfortable.
You can educate the public
Dentistry is a highly-respected profession, and those who pursue a career in dentistry have a unique opportunity to influence the health of the public (spreading information and advice about maintaining good oral health). For example, in addition to educating your own patients, you may have the opportunity to visit schools and speak to children about their teeth and gums.
You will have a high degree of freedom and flexibility
By opting for a career in dentistry, you are entering a field that will allow you to have a strong influence over the balance of your work and home life. A career in dentistry means that you will have a chance to be your own boss, and you will have a wide range of job opportunities (ranging from work in private practice to a career in dentistry that revolves around research positions in hospitals).
HOW TO BE A DENTIST AND WHERE TO STUDY IN THE PHILIPPINES
To become a dentist here in the Philippines youâll need to study Dentistry and pass the board exam. Some universities offer a 6-year dentistry course, while some donât. If you opt to take a pre-med before taking up dentistry proper, it will take longer, which will take up to 8 years.
But, here is a list of top schools and universities in the Philippines offering dentistry courses.
1.    University of the East
2.    Centro Escolar University
3.    University of the Philippines
4.    University of the Visayas
5.    Our Lady of Fatima University
6.    Emilio Aguinaldo College
7.    Cebu Doctors' University
8.    University of Baguio
9.    National University (Philippines)
10. Adventist University of the Philippines
And that concludes my blog about everything you need to know about dentistry. I hope you learned a lot!

Traveling somewhere soon? In case you didnât know: You can conveniently apply for a Philippine passport or renew an expired one at the multiple satellite offices of the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) at SM Supermalls nationwide.Â
Even better: Aside from having multiple satellite offices in Manila and all over the country, the DFA has also launched several Temporary Off-Site Passport Services (DFA-TOPS) in 2021âsome of them within SM mallsâto make their passporting services more accessible. This is in response to the heightened demand for appointment slots following the pandemic-related lockdowns.
But how exactly does one get a DFA appointment? Here, we break down the steps to securing your new passportâat your favorite mall, too!
Step 1: Select your appointment slot and venue online.
The first thing you have to do is book a slot through DFAâs official booking website:Â www.passport.gov.ph. The site offers a scheduling system that lets you choose your preferred DFA site and select an available date and time slot for either individual or group appointments.Â
Hereâs a quick look at DFA site options at SM Malls:
SM Aura Premier (Temporary Off-Site Passport Service)
SM Mall of Asia (Temporary Off-Site Passport Service)
SM North EDSAÂ (Temporary Off-Site Passport Service)
SM Seaside Cebu (Temporary Off-Site Passport Service)
SM Lanang Premier Davao City (Temporary Off-Site Passport Service)
SM Olongapo (Temporary Off-Site Passport Service) â Simple Renewal Only
SM Manila (Temporary Off-Site Passport Service) â Simple Renewal Only
SM Downtown Premier CDO â Simple Renewal Only
SM Cherry Antipolo
SM City Baguio
DFA NCR East SM MegamallÂ
DFA NCR West SM City Manila
SM City Dasmarinas
SM City Davao
SM City San Pablo
Step 2: Input your application details completely and accurately.
Once youâve chosen your venue, date, and time, you will be asked to provide the necessary data for your application, including your home address, parentsâ names, and contact details. For renewals or lost passports, make sure you have your old passport on hand because youâll be needing details such as your passport number, date of issue, and issuing office.Â
Some tips:Â
Watch out for typos, especially in the names and birthdays. DFA officers cannot edit these fields on site so you will need a new appointment.
Your chosen slot is only reserved for you for a limited time (30 to 60 minutes) so make sure you complete the online process quickly.
Step 3: Review your details before proceeding to payment.
You will be given a chance to review all your encoded data before confirming and proceeding to payment so take this chance to double-check everything. When youâre ready, you can choose from these options: Regular processing at DFA sites costs P950 (12 days) and P1,200 for expedited processing (6 days). At Temporary Off-Site Passport Services (TOPS) facility, though, there is no option for expedited processing, and the fee is set at P1,200 for regular processing (12 to 15 days).
You can opt to pay for your passport processing fees through select payment centers nationwide or via debit or credit card. Important: All fees are non-refundable and will be forfeited if you fail to show up for your appointment, if you cancel your slot, or if your application is rejected due to wrong information or discrepancies.
Step 4: Wait for your confirmation e-mail.
Your application form will be sent to the e-mail address that you provided. Print the form and bring it on the date of your appointment, along with other necessary documents. Read here for a complete list of requirements.
For more info on requirements, check the DFA website here.
Step 5: Show up to your appointment.Make sure youâre at the site at least 10 minutes before your scheduled appointment, and in proper, decent attire. Minor applicants, seniors, pregnant women, and persons with disability are allowed to have one companion inside the site. Donât forget to mask up, too, and to observe health protocols.
Are walk-ins allowed?
Step 6: Choose your claiming or delivery option.Once done with the whole process, you can choose between pick-up and courier delivery options for your passport. Done and done!
The best part of getting your passport at SM sites? You can conveniently shop, dine, or simply unwind before or after your appointment! Plus, you can also avail of other government services at the mallâfrom your PSA birth certificate or Unified Multi-Purpose Identification Card (UMID) to your driverâs license or PRC card. (Click here to read more.)
For more details and answers to FAQs about the DFA process, you may read more here.
Follow SM Supermalls on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter for regular updates on whatâs happening at your favorite malls. Check the latest mall entry guidelines and updates on mall hours here and find what you need through the SM Directory.

This is my Eulogy.
This is my Eulogy.
First. I would like to thank Life and God for giving me the opportunity to live and experience a taste of this world.
TO MY FAMILY. Thank you for raising me well. I am not me without any single of you. I may not express as much as needed but I want you to know that I LOVE YOU. See you soon!
I may not be the best son, not the best brother. I donât wish to be one but I would like to believe that we are destined to be the way we are. Well, thatâs where I learn from my lessons from anyway - all my mistakes.
TO THE ENVIRONMENT. I am so proud to have joined Cuernos de Negros Mountaineers Club, Inc. of Silliman University for teaching me how to love the environment. Because of that, I was able to travel to 5 countries (USA, Cambodia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand) for FREE to attend different environmental programs and its alumni engagements.
Aside from being able to see different parts of the world. I am fortunate to learn that there is a problem that we need to do something about. Our childrenâs lives are at stake.
MUSIC, MAGIC, & MOVING PICTURES. MY PASSIONS. I cannot thank you enough. We have been through the happiest and most difficult times of my life. When thereâs no one else to talk to and hang out with, you were there.
You even got me jobs!
-
SOUTH KOREA. You are my second home country. You made realize that I am part of the world, a global citizen. There is the potential of anyone to make a difference even to another individual in the world. Thank you Silliman University and Hannam University for this opportunity!
I am happy I am able to learn Korean so I could understand you. Now, I am giving back by learning your language too. South Korea is beautiful. I know most of you are tired of the pressure in your country. But please, never forget your passions and purpose. Thereâs more to the world than getting a âgoodâ job and lots of money.
-
March 2020. Thereâs an ongoing virus called COVID-19 infecting people around the world. Who knows what will happen next? We will not be always safe. I live in a dorm, I live with other people. They may be carrying the disease. I hope not. I have one roommate who still goes to work at this time. I hope he wonât bring the disease in the dorm. Thereâs currently 187 infected patients in the Philippines and recovery rate has not moved at all.
July 2020. Â COVID cases are not easing down here in the Philippines. I heard stories of the government just making money out of this situation...
-
I am happy that I have experienced many jobs. I realize that I can do so much more, at the same time, I know I will have options when any career I would choose wonât work.

DOT releases latest list of domestic destinations waiving RT-PCR tests for fully vaxxed visitors
Team Out of Town Blog Hub (Outoftownblog.com) â As of November 13, 2021, the list of domestic destinations that have waived the COVID-19 test requirement for fully vaccinated visitors is fast growing; an indication that the countryâs tourism industry is slowly getting back on its feet.

The Department of Tourism (DOT) made this statement on Saturday (Nov. 13) as it released an updated list of domestic destinations which no longer require negative results of RT-PCR tests for fully vaccinated tourists. These include popular destinations like Baguio, Bohol, Cebu, Clark, Subic, and, starting on November 16, Boracay Island and Guimaras.
In lieu of the RT-PCR test, these destinations require only vaccination cards issued by the Department of Health (DOH) or the local government unit (LGU) where the vaccination was administered.
âWith the lifting of the testing requirements for fully vaccinated visitors to these destinations, travel has become more affordable and accessible for domestic tourists, especially with coming holiday season,â Tourism Secretary Berna Romulo-Puyat said.
However, she reminded tourists to observe minimum health and safety protocols when traveling.
As we expect more tourists going to Boracay Island, and other destinations that have eased travel requirements for fully vaccinated individuals in the coming weeks, we continue to remind travelers to observe minimum health and safety protocols when visiting the spots

Bernadette Romulo-Puyat DOT Secretary
Aside from travelers, Puyat also issued a reminder to tourism businesses, workers, and other stakeholders not to be complacent with the easing of domestic travel in order to prevent COVID-19 cases from increasingâan event that could halt the countryâs tourism industry recovery.
âSeeing how the reopening of tourism all over the country is helping Filipinos return to their jobs, we cannot afford a new surge of COVID-19 infections and a return to the restrictions imposed by a stricter quarantine. Let us do our individual parts to ensure that there will be no outbreaks in our destinations,â she said.
She shared that in Boracay Island alone, the vaccination rate among tourism workers reached 100.2 percent for those who have received the first dose, which means more workersâwho were not included in the DOTâs initial targetâare now able to return to their jobs.

4 Remarkable Qualities to Look for in a Philippine Gift Delivery Service
Sending blessings to the Philippines is one of the manners in which Filipinos abroad can show their loved ones in the Philippines that they consider them. Shopping on the web to send endowments to the Philippines has become a perpetually mainstream alternative as web based business has developed over the most recent couple of years, and with the expanding quantities of Filipinos living abroad. Toward the finish of 2010, there were more than 11 million Filipinos living outside of the Philippines. Aside from the deep rooted custom of delivery boxes loaded with stuff via air and ocean, the web has made a quicker, more amiable approach to send those blessings. This article will take a gander at how you can shop online to arrange presents for conveyance to the Philippines. It will likewise incorporate a couple of potential decisions for blessing thoughts.
For simplicity and accommodation, you may start with an internet searcher like Google and enter watchwords that are significant for you. For instance, you may enter "flowers delivery manila," which is the Tagalog word for Flower delivery . You may likewise enter different terms, for example, "Flower delivery manila," or some variety thereof.
The pursuit will at that point raise a rundown of sites that are offering the help that you might want to utilize. Be wary while picking an organization. A few organizations are spic and span, while others have been around for quite a long time. You need to pick an organization of value, one that is dependable and has some association with the providers in the Philippines that you might want to utilize.
In the Philippines, there are around twelve organizations offering an online blessing conveyance administration. Many are situated in the Manila region, and take into account Metro Manila as it were. A few organizations sell just blossoms, while others offer just PCs and PCs. There are a couple, in any case, that are situated in North America, work like retail chains and have everything from party bundles, cakes, roses and hardware available to be purchased. They additionally may conveyance to more far off areas in the Philippines, as Bicol Region, Baguio, and Cebu. Consider additionally where you are found. For instance, on the off chance that you are in the US or Canada, or maybe Hong Kong or Japan, it is insightful to search for an organization that has a delegate in your general vicinity. Client support is then considered responsible, rather than 1,000 miles away in an alternate time region.

4 things to search for while picking a site -
Here are a couple of signs that you are choosing a decent blessing conveyance administration:
They have a state-of-the-art and easy to use site. Internet shopping sites that look dated may not do well overall, which would make you keep thinking about whether your blessing would wind up being conveyed. Pick one that is expertly planned and is simple on the eyes. Likewise, having the decision of paying with Visa or potentially PayPal is a decent sign, since you need an organization that has been confirmed as reliable.
The site has set up associations with Filipino providers. At the point when you're purchasing a cake, I'm accepting you need an item that your family will appreciate, with a brand name like Red Ribbon. Or then again should you need to get a gift voucher so your beneficiary can go out to shop in a regarded shopping center, it is acceptable to realize that the blessing conveyance site you pick has a relationship with SM shopping centers and retail chains.
They have a wide choice of items accessible. An organization that offers roses, cakes, gift vouchers, hardware, PCs, appliances ,etc. makes it exceptionally helpful to shop with since you can continue to return for various things on various blessing giving occasions. An all in one resource is ideal than looking over and over for various organizations offering just a couple of items.
They've been audited on informal communities and discussions. This is a decent sign that the organization considers themselves responsible and looks to give extraordinary client assistance. Do they have a Twitter or a Facebook site? What are the assessments of the help from others? These are acceptable inquiries to pose before you choose to arrange with an online blessing conveyance administration.
After you've gotten an opportunity to survey the key classes, if the help you're thinking about has passed in any event 4 out of 5, at that point you're likely working with a respectable organization.
Flowers delivery manila  was brought into the world in the Philippines, and moved to North America around ten years prior. Having utilized settlement organizations to send cash to her family in the Philippines, she thought that it was an incredible advantage to have the choice to shop online for her family back home on uncommon events.
