We went to the opening of Howard Brandenburg's exhibition at Willaura Modern last night. It's incredible to see work like this - but in a tiny gallery in a tiny town, it's even more so! Howard grew up in New Mexico, and now lives with his family on a farm in Western Victoria. He uses unusual substrates and framing - this one on Jean canvas and with related newspaper stories pasted to the frame. A friend of a friend lost her house in those fires last year - and summer is coming...
