the fanfare plays on televisions throughout the world, signaling an official start to the huge quadrennial event. athletes proudly make their way across screens, ready to represent their home countries with their upcoming accomplishments in this year's summer olympics. millions of viewers cheer their olympians on, and even for many citizens of dc, this is not an event to be missed. while unable to compete themselves, perhaps there are big dreams from dc's residents, and now would be a good time to explore those athletic aspirations!

it's been a while since our last task, so here's a fun one! a huge shoutout to our very own mario for the idea, and this one is of course inspired by the olympics! the format of this task is slightly different from usual, with only one aspect required to count as complete, but more about that will be below as we explain our task about your muses' athletic abilities!

for this task, we will only be requiring a written portion! if you would like to add an edit though, you are absolutely able to do so! some options might include a stat board like this one, or even a aesthetic moodboard like this one! but again, we're NOT requiring a visual aspect this time around, and you can choose whatever graphic you want if you decide to make one!

which game(s) would your character compete in for the olympics? – for a list of games, click here & here Kili would for sure compete in the archery portion. There's no questions about it

how would they likely rank in their event(s)? If I want to be biased, I'd say gold. He's done it so often and for so long that he'd definitely be up there. He even teaches archery so all that skill will definitely be of use. If I want to be fair, I'd say he get gold on best case and worse case, probably silver or tied for gold.

does your muse have a supernatural ability that could aid them? if so, how would they use them? He does not have any supernatural abilities. He just has practice in him.

if your muse isn't a skilled athlete, what sport(s) do they wish that they were able to play? Even though Kili is skilled in archery, I think he'd wish to try the bicycling one. His legs are just too short for traditional bikes and it bores him but he'd want to try it! That or skiing. Anything with adrenaline would work

if your muse wouldn't compete, what would be their favorite sport(s) to watch? would they prefer to watch in person or on tv if given the choice? If Kili wouldn't compete, he probably would still watch the archery. To name more, he'd like the fighting and fencing ones. Oh! And the football and soccer ones. He'd love to see it in person if they were able to leave Washington D.C.

if they come from a fictional country or world, what might their opening ceremony uniform look like? Kili would wear traditional dwarven armor for the opening ceremony.

what would their personal trading pin look like? Kili would probably have a trading pin that looks like a dwarven bow with a quiver with runes on it

what would their social media presence be like throughout the games? Kili has no idea how to work social media, so it'd be blurry shots and him screaming at events as he shakily records it. Fili would have to be with him to help him.

would they go viral on olympic tiktok? if so, what for? He probably would just because of his outfit. And he'd be like the muffin guy, obsessed with the muffins.

what would your muse like or dislike about the olympic village? He probably wouldn't care too much on what it looks like. He'd think it's cool he's not in America! But he'd probably have more to say on France itself then the village.

this one was the funniest for me to consider because under no circumstances would kaz willingly go to the olympics unless it was for a heist. so picture this: he switches out with a competitor who already qualified, and he goes to the olympics under a fake name. so he competes in the winter olympics in luge, because you can wear a helmet and face shield, which would make the whole plot doable. the purpose of the deception is to get into the olympic village (and for whatever reason, he couldn't just go in as a coach, which would have been far easier), but ultimately it doesn't matter how well he actually does in the event. in fact, he'd rather "injure" himself off camera before the qualifying heats so that his face doesn't have to be broadcast on television (despite the face shield, there's always a chance it might have to be removed, so better not to risk it). i can't decide what would be funnier: if the plan works and he does manage to fake an injury and get out of the event while impersonating the olympian, or if the plan doesn't work and kaz ends up speeding down this sledding route at 100kph, internally just absolutely pissed off that he had to do it. he does not medal.

going for the gold / inej ghafa

i think inej would genuinely enjoy competing in rhythmic gymnastics. it's not quite the acrobatics she typically does or used to perform, but it's close enough and she's always happy to have a chance to use those skills for something joyful. she also does just like to show off a little bit every now and again. i don't care if i'm overhyping her i'm saying she'd get gold. the only reason she wouldn't is if she didn't want to represent kerch for one reason or another. that or she'd wind up in the winter olympics along with whatever kaz is doing and wouldn't medal cause she wouldn't be trying to get attention (though she'd be chilling doing ice skating not joining the idiots in luge). beyond that i think inej would watch the olympics casually. if they were on she'd enjoy them, especially the more acrobatic sports like gymnastics or ice skating, but she's definitely not seeking them out. her media presence and how she'd go viral is getting the most batshit behind the scenes pictures and videos of other athletes and posting them on a fake account. people spend the whole olympics trying to figure out who's getting this footage and how. she's just having a fun little time while giving the rest of the athletes an anxiety disorder without realizing it. it would get revealed to be inej at the end of the games when she decided she was done with the whole thing. i think she'd honestly be pretty neutral on the olympic village. it would be cool to be somewhere else, but she's aware that it's not really well set up. she's not too picky as long as she has food and a place to sleep though.

what would your muse like or dislike about the olympic village? — she would love to interact with the other athletes, learning from them. after she went viral she would go live a couple times around the village, but with someone else with her as it isn't something she does often

He'd probably get silver or bronze on purpose to not put too much attention on himself but enough to show he means business. He's mostly just there for the fun of it.

Shanks has his Haki. He wouldn't use it. Even as a pirate he wouldn't feel it was right.

he xuan would find absolutely no purpose in competing in the olympics. what is the benefit? why. but if i had to assign him a category, he'd have to compete in some kind of water event for the summer olympics. he'd actually crush swimming, or diving, but i think he'd find it too far beneath his dignity to swim back and forth in a pool. so ultimately i am assigning him to sailing, specifically the dinghy class, since he'd compete individually rather than with a crew. i could not in good conscience put him on a sailing event that requires a crew. his supernatural affinity for water as a water demon would mean he would, in fact, take a gold medal if i forced him to compete, but he wouldn't be happy about it. his opening ceremonies outfit from the blackwater demon lair would be, like, black and iridescent green probably, and his pin would be a replica of one of his bonefish. he doesn't watch the olympics. he xuan also would not be found on olympics social media. in fact, he's so far removed from any social media presence that after he wins gold there would probably be some kind of conspiracy about him even actually existing/competing. he would skip out on his assigned quarters at the olympic village and find his own place to stay, and when he wasn't on the water competing you'd find him in random hole-in-the-wall restaurants in the host city of the olympics, trying to avoid all the other athletes.

how would they likely rank in their event(s)? Gold. He's skilled in it, he's done it for as long as he can remember. He even does it now for exercise and fun so there's no way he'd get anything less than a gold. Maybe silver if he has an extremely bad day and forgot to eat.

does your muse have a supernatural ability that could aid them? if so, how would they use them? Beel is a demon, so already he has supernatural strength.

if your muse isn't a skilled athlete, what sport(s) do they wish that they were able to play? If I had to say, maybe track and field? His workout/day consists of an early morning jog, weightlifting, 100 drills of sprinting and then weightlifting before bed so probably anything with running.

if your muse wouldn't compete, what would be their favorite sport(s) to watch? would they prefer to watch in person or on tv if given the choice? Beel wished there was competitive eating he can watch (he'd also win the gold for competitive eating or sure) but he watches the track and field, the pentathlon, so really anything except golfing. Golf bores him .

if they come from a fictional country or world, what might their opening ceremony uniform look like? Beel never understood the opening ceremony uniform so he would like go in his demon form or go in his RAD uniform.

what would their personal trading pin look like? His handle on Instagram (or Devilgram) is Beezleburger. . .so of course his trading pin would be of a hamburger.

what would their social media presence be like throughout the games? He doesn't have a huge following, but he has a big enough following that he has to post content on a more or less consistent basis. It would be mostly on what he's eating there and workout tips and workout vlogs

would they go viral on olympic tiktok? if so, what for? He'd probably go viral on regular tiktok for eating the village out of their food and still wanting more. It'll be like the muffin guy but on a bigger scale.

which game(s) would your character compete in for the olympics? – for a list of games, click here & here I'm leaning more towards fencing just because that's the closest thing to sword fighting my mind can think of so probably that. Either that or taekwondo but I'm thinking more fencing

how would they likely rank in their event(s)? I'd say probably silver but maybe bronze. He doesn't look like he'd do "damage" but he uses that to his advantage and take home the win.

does your muse have a supernatural ability that could aid them? if so, how would they use them? He does have supernatural powers, but I think the one that most help would be his ability to learn anything and hone it just by observing. He'd probably used that to see what strategies and stances work and then use it to win.

if your muse isn't a skilled athlete, what sport(s) do they wish that they were able to play? Probably archery. I can see him shooting professional Olympic recurve.

if your muse wouldn't compete, what would be their favorite sport(s) to watch? would they prefer to watch in person or on tv if given the choice? He'd watch everything, but he'doddly wnough end up liking the horse one.

if they come from a fictional country or world, what might their opening ceremony uniform look like? Most likely, a fencing uniform. No way would he wear his Ghost Slayer outfit.

what would their personal trading pin look like? His amber pendant would be his pin! Because I am nothing if not predictable.

what would their social media presence be like throughout the games? He only has a presence so his students can see he's cool. And even then it's not much but showing behind the scenes of his training and giving history lessons.

which game(s) would your character compete in for the olympics? – for a list of games, click here & here He'd definitely fence. He knows it's not like sword fighting, but it's the most similar and it's something that he can do even though he's blind.

how would they likely rank in their event(s)? Maybe silver because he'll have to get used to fighting with foil and epee, but a saber he'll excel in.

does your muse have a supernatural ability that could aid them? if so, how would they use them? While Xingchen has his qi to make him last longer, not sure it would be of help here; They aren't monsters.

if your muse isn't a skilled athlete, what sport(s) do they wish that they were able to play? He does martial arts, so he'd probably stick to being a martial artist. He'd probably excel in jiujitsu and most definitely excel in Wushu martial arts.

if your muse wouldn't compete, what would be their favorite sport(s) to watch? would they prefer to watch in person or on tv if given the choice? He listens to it on the TV and definitely would be following up on the taekwondo and judo.

if they come from a fictional country or world, what might their opening ceremony uniform look like? I think he'd just wear his traditional white hanfu. He wears it for Halloween to dress up and for very special occasions so it would work here

how would they likely rank in their event(s)? Oh gold baby. He's been doing it since high school and he even created an undergrounding skating competition, called S. Unless someone decides to smack him off his board, he's winning.

does your muse have a supernatural ability that could aid them? if so, how would they use them? He has a robotic skateboard named Carla that can analyze anything and change in order to support it..

if your muse isn't a skilled athlete, what sport(s) do they wish that they were able to play? Honestly, I can't see him doing anything other than skateboarding. Maybe archery because looking like a graceful elf. . .or figure skating but other than those I don't know.

if your muse wouldn't compete, what would be their favorite sport(s) to watch? would they prefer to watch in person or on tv if given the choice? He says he wouldn't watch it but he'd be secretly watching the skateboarding and all other sports on his TV.

how would they likely rank in their event(s)? Poor Zenitsu would probably be the lowest rank. He can't very well pass out and win like that so he'd be very low, not placing a medal.

does your muse have a supernatural ability that could aid them? if so, how would they use them? He has his demon slayer abilities and powers but he's too fearful to unlock them so it would be of no help at all.

if your muse isn't a skilled athlete, what sport(s) do they wish that they were able to play? Right now? He wishes to do anything with confidence and without fear so once he unlocks that, it's game over.

how would they likely rank in their event(s)? See I want to say gold because his robotic limbs would give him an advantage, but he might get disqualified for fighting whoever would stop him early.

does your muse have a supernatural ability that could aid them? if so, how would they use them? Why they aren't supernatural, his robotic limbs would increase his strength and would break any bone with one hard kick and punch.

if your muse isn't a skilled athlete, what sport(s) do they wish that they were able to play? He probably wouldn't do anything else. He's more into music and the rockstar lifestyle.

which game(s) would your character compete in for the olympics? – for a list of games, click here & here Either boxing or shooting for sure. I almost thought modern pentathlon, but he prefers hitting people with his fists or shooting people and that's it.

how would they likely rank in their event(s)? For boxing, if he doesn't get disqualified for going ham, then he'd be gold. This guy has so much anger in his body that normally it'd lead to mistakes but not for the Pillarman. For shooting, probably silver or gold. He grew up learning to fight and shoot so if he gets any lower, he'll be pissed.

does your muse have a supernatural ability that could aid them? if so, how would they use them? Not sure if this counts as a supernatural ability, but his jade. If Tar has to hide it, he will. He's not taking off his jade for anything unless he dies.

if your muse isn't a skilled athlete, what sport(s) do they wish that they were able to play? Anything he can use his fists and legs for. Tar is all anger, all impulse, and all fighting.

He'd watch the boxing and then yell at his favorite Olympian if they weren't to win. He'd go in person but then end up getting kicked out so probably watch it at home.

what would their personal trading pin look like? A gun that looks like jade. . .because it's a big part of him.

how would they likely rank in their event(s)? Maybe silver. Fighting is in his blood and he'd put up quite a show.

does your muse have a supernatural ability that could aid them? if so, how would they use them? Niko definitely wears and hides jade on him. That helps with superstrength and his fighting prowess.

if your muse isn't a skilled athlete, what sport(s) do they wish that they were able to play? I don't even think Niko knows what he would like to play. He is engrossed in martial arts that he can't think about doing anything else.

if your muse wouldn't compete, what would be their favorite sport(s) to watch? would they prefer to watch in person or on tv if given the choice? He'd watch everything but he'd be invested in judo for sure.

if they come from a fictional country or world, what might their opening ceremony uniform look like? I don't know what he'd wear for the opening ceremony. . .i don't' really know what anyone wears for opening ceremony but he'd probably be dressed in a gi or something

what would their personal trading pin look like? A jade stone pin! Because I am nothing if not predictable.

what would their social media presence be like throughout the games? He wouldn't have a big presence, but he'd definitely be consistent. It would range from showing off moves, to selfies, to behind the scenes, and imparting words of wisdom because these times be stressful

would they go viral on olympic tiktok? if so, what for? I don't know. If it happens, it happens, but he wouldn't plan on it. . .unless you count being one of the cutest beans viral.

what would your muse like or dislike about the olympic village? The comradery mostly. He can be surrounded by like-minded people and learn so much about them and where they're from.

Go for gold!! Lan Xichen vs the Olympics

which game(s) would your character compete in for the olympics? – for a list of games, click here & here For the summer Olympics, I can see him doing judo. Even without memories, he still studies and trains in martial arts so it would be up their alley. Maybe even fencing if he wanted to do something with a sword. If it was the Winter, then figure skating. The boy is too graceful and fluid to do anything but that.

how would they likely rank in their event(s)? For Judo, probably gold. It's in his blood, he's trained so hard as a child and even as an adult he does it recreationally that the muscle memory is there. For fencing, either bronze or silver. He may have done martial arts frequently, but he hasn't touched a sword of any kind in a bit so he might be rusty. For figure skating, a bronze. It takes him a bit to get used to it before arriving but once he does get it, it would be impressive enough, but he's sure there's many more talented skaters.

does your muse have a supernatural ability that could aid them? if so, how would they use them? Does having qi and spiritual energy count? If it does his qi will certainly help with martial arts.

if your muse isn't a skilled athlete, what sport(s) do they wish that they were able to play? I don't know how to answer. While he's already skilled in martial arts, I think Xichen would lean more towards music so I don't think he wishes he can play something else.

if your muse wouldn't compete, what would be their favorite sport(s) to watch? would they prefer to watch in person or on tv if given the choice? He'd watch judo, archery, skiing, figure skating. I don't know if he'd have a favorite, but he'd watch those intensely. I think he'd watch it on TV more than in person. Though he would want to see it live at least once.

if they come from a fictional country or world, what might their opening ceremony uniform look like? He's probably wear his traditional Cloud Recesses hanfu, ribbon included

what would their social media presence be like throughout the games? It'll probably be a few backstage selfies with other Olympians and more showing footage of the sports being played.

would they go viral on olympic tiktok? if so, what for? If Xichen does go viral it's because someone recorded him doing something and it got viral that way.

what would your muse like or dislike about the olympic village? I think Xichen would love speaking with the other athletes and exploring what he can of France and of the Olympic village
