Hyunwoo was always on the calmer side. Easy to chat with, funny at random times, and levelheaded. It’s why Y/N fell in love with the man. Not only did he know how to make her laugh extremely hard when not even trying, but the man was sometimes in his own universe.

She had figured accepting his offer to join him and his groupmates for a night out would be enjoyable. After all, they were all collectively hilarious when given a proper chance, and having all seven of them in a room paired with alcohol was always a treat.

With a drink in her hand and the bar counter holding her up, she enjoyed the slight buzz as she watched Minhyuk and Jooheon take up the dance floor as if they were the only two. It was rather funny because, of course, they weren’t. They were somewhat oblivious that they were getting dirty looks from the crowd around them as their arms were thrown in the air, entirely off-beat for the song that was playing.

Y/N had known it would only be a matter of time before Hyunwoo would step in to calm them down and hopefully stop the encouraging shouts from Kihyun and Hyungwon.

Her eyes scanned the area, trying to look for her lover but to no avail. Glancing around, she noticed he had seemingly disappeared into the crowd. She wasn’t sure how long he had been gone or where he went. Pushing herself away from the bar, she did her best to try to find the male.

“Hello, beautiful,” The sudden voice whispered into her ear surprised her. Whipping her face around, she was greeted by a very drunken Hyunwoo. His brown eyes were laced with excitement, and what she could guess was some drive to get her. “You here alone?”

The question had her snort. This side of Monsta X’s leader was rare to see. Flirty and without a care in the world. Her smile was hard to hide as he waited patiently for her answer, just as he does when sober.

“We literally came here together, Hyunwoo.” Y/N snorted, watching as her lover’s face morphed into surprise.

“How do you know my name?” His shocked tone had the girl laughing even harder. He stared into space, trying to remember in his drunken daze if he had said anything to her about who he was. “I was staring at you all night. You’re so beautiful.”

The scene in front of her was hilarious. She enjoyed watching her lover jump from one thing to another in a few seconds.

“Are you perhaps single?” He questioned, scooting closer to her. With how close he was to her, she could smell the alcohol that laced his breath.

“I’m not.” She watched as his shoulders fell in defeat, “God, you are on another level when you’re drunk, Nunu. I love it. You’re my boyfriend.”

Watching his posture change the second he heard her say that he was her boyfriend, the look on his face became more smug, not unafraid to touch her.

“I knew that.” He waved his free hand aimlessly as his other one wrapped around her shoulder, “Just wanted to test you.”

She knew that he did, in fact, not know that. She snorted, glancing away from her partner.

“The room is spinning, but your face is pretty clear. You’re absolutely gorgeous.” Hyunwoo spoke up, gripping the bar to keep himself upright. “Can I get your number?”

She stayed silent, glancing at her lover and then back at the other intoxicated members. The smile that slowly inched her face caused Hyunwoo to grin triumphantly. She wasn’t sure how she would manage to watch seven grown drunken men, but she knew she could manage. After all, Hyunwoo could manage watching six of them.

Doesnt find your joke funny

Theres a very clear line of best friends and lovers and besides, theres no possible way you could like him back

Zoning out a lot, trying to understand his feelings more when he just blurts out what was on his mind. Because you guys are close, he could tell you anything, right?

“No, no its fine. I know you obviously dont like me and it’s okay, i just wanted to get it off my chest. Im sorry i made you uncomfortable.”

He was already on the verge of tears, but when you tell him you love him, more than just friends, he just bursts out crying ♡

JUNMIN ☆

Just goes along with it

Holds your hand, puts his arm around your shoulder. Refuses to call you by your name but babe

Likes that your getting flustered because hes screaming on the inside

Gets so into his role that he leans into you, your noses touching and hes about to kiss you. Until wait a minute and just pulls back with a sheepish smile

Daydreams for the rest of the day about the almost kiss. And when he drops you to your house, he finally does it ♡

SUMIN

Freezes; were you reading his thoughts? Were you able to somehow see his dreams? H-how did you know??

He tries to play it cool even though his face is burning red. "Y-yeah.. that'll be crazy right?! Haha.." he clears his throat

But to his dismay, you already knew about the massive crush he had on you, as he was very obvious

So you use that to your advantage, scooting extra close to him, your hands shadowing over his small ones

"I like you too, stupid." You would laugh, placing a soft kiss on his cheek as his face gets even redder ♡

JINSIK ☆

"Yeah, imagine if we were dating." He would take it as a joke, lying down and fantasizing about your lifes as a couple

"I would take you to this hot air balloon festival, since i know you've always wanted to go."

Has this smile on his face until he stops; were you actually serious?

You had to be joking, there was no way this was directed to him, right?

Almost stops breathing and his mouth is dropped open when you kiss his cheek. "I like you, jinsik." ♡

HYUNWOO ☆

Your question honestly made him sad

Because wdym “what if you were dating?” no, he didnt want to pretend. He wanted to live his dreams, he wanted to be with you

So he gets a little quiet, looking down as hes lost in his thoughts, a little teary eyed

Snaps out of it when you call his name, and would say he’s okay even though you know he’s lying

So with all courage, you confess to him. And when you’re done, he’d pour his heart out to you ♡

JUNGHOON ☆

He’s completely taken aback, the silence making you feel a little uneasy

“B-but i mean.” wouldnt even let you talk without pressing his lips against yours, his face completely red but he doesnt care

Would kiss you again if you tried to talk, getting to the point where hes just peppering your face with kisses

Would have the whole rant about how much he loves you

Then it would be your turn to cut him off with a kiss ♡

Also freezes; the first time hes speechless

Theres a long awkward silence, your faces red and seeun twiddling with his thumbs

"I mean I- well we- or m-maybe-" struggles to find words

After you agree that you wanna take it slow, he would have this shy smile on his face, holding both of your hands, looking down the entire time ♡

But that turns into convincing you to go on a date with him. He’d treat you so well, buying anything you want

Minjae:

He'd DEFINITELY sulk for a while 😭

After calming down and thinking things over, he'd feel so guilty :( wishing he hadn't lashed out at you or lost his temper at you

Despite his stubborn nature, he'd bring himself to you to apologise, and you'd find it endearing and sweet knowing how difficult it probably was for him to swallow his pride

You'd hug him and his arms would immediately wrap around you just as tightly as you tell him you're sorry as well and that you love him

You'd go back to normal quickly after the whole thing, forgetting it even happened within an hour or two. He'd just be so happy he was able to patch things up

Junmin:

He might cry…He'd probably cry…He'd definitely cry.

He wouldn't let you see him cry though, but you know him well enough. You know he doesn't mean harm, so you'd probably be the one apologising first. Not because he's stubborn, just because you couldn't bear to see him upset

You'd wipe his tears and kiss his cheeks to calm him down, making little jokes to him to get him to smile

The two of you would sit down to really talk about it. Talk about what you argued about, why you argued about it, and if it was really worth arguing about at all

Then the apologies would come as you both realise how stupid and pointless it was

Sumin:

He'd take a WHILE to cool off, that's for sure. Not because he's hot headed, just because he'd be desperately trying to wrap his head around everything while also trying to figure out what he can say and do to make it up to you

You wouldn't hear from him for days, making you think he was really super mad at you, when suddenly he'd show up on your doorstep with an expensive bouquet of your favourite flowers and a guilty smile

How could you stay mad at him? You couldn't. You begin to apologise to him but he'd cut you off, insisting you have nothing to apologise for even if the argument was your fault. He's just sweet like that

He's not usually lovey dovey, bit he'd be EXTRA lovey dove for the next day or two

He seems unbothered at times but during the days he spent away from you, he'd be seriously in a panic over whether you still loved him (no matter how silly the argument 😭)

Jinsik:

He wouldn't even know what just happened or what to do. You'd storm off and he'd just be left standing there, heart pounding and mind racing with thoughts

The guilt and worry would set in fast for him. Like SECONDS after kind of fast. He'd be running after you, grabbing your hand, and pleading with you, profusely apologising

You wouldn't be able to stop yourself from giggling at his dramatic display, and he'd just look at you with dazed and teary eyes as you pinch his cheek and tell him its okay

You'd apologise back to him, reassuring him that you'll always love him even if you lose your head sometimes

You'd have to give him lots of cuddles for the rest of the day to make sure he knows how much you love him!

Hyunwoo:

For some reason, I can't comprehend arguing with hyunu. He just seems so sweet and understanding and patient BUT for the sake of it, I think he'd be emotional too

He'd not usually an emotional guy, so his emotions would tell you how genuinely guilty and remorseful he is

No matter how much you try, you wouldn't be able to stay mad at him, especially when he'd be doing almost everything in his power to get you to forgive him

He'd bring you flowers, chocolate, plushies. He'd become a housewife and do every single chore for you. Just don't act mad at him long enough for him to try cooking a meal for you. He WILL burn the house to the ground

When you finally give in and wrap your arms around him with a little giggle about you weren't really that mad, he'd just be so genuinely relieved and happy 🥹

Junghoon:

SERIOUSLY wouldn't know what to do. Would just stare as you storm off like “??? Uh oh.”

He wouldn't do anything for a while, just sure that you need some time to calm down. But when you keep leaving him on read and ignoring his calls, that's when he goes to the boys for help

He'd try everything, kind of like hyunu, earning no response or reaction from you

He'd eventually get desperate, genuinely panicking that you really hate him or something, pissing off the other members with his worry and how much he's begging for their help

Eventually, he'd just show up at your door, head hung low, to say sorry and that he really loves you and doesn't want to lose you. You'd wrap your arms around him and say thank you because that's all you really needed from him, and he'd sigh with such relief, holding you tighter than ever before

Seeun:

Wouldn't think you're serious at first 😭 he's too silly for his own good

After a little while, he'd start talking and joking with you as if everything was normal, only realising that everything was, in fact, NOT normal when you give him the cold shoulder

Suddenly he's tripping over himself with lovey dovey words and pet names trying to win back your love and attention

You seriously couldn't stay mad at him for long. He's too charming and sweet, his beautiful words enough to make anyone smile and blush

He seems super unserious at first, but once he sees you finally smile at him and hears you finally speak to him again, he's visibly over the moon. He'd hug you so tight and promise to never be stupid ever again (a promise you know he can't keep but you don't care, you love him anyway)

Yujun:

Wouldn't realise what's going on or know what to do, kind of like junghoon, but in a more innocent way

Another one that you could only stay mad at for a few minutes due to him following you around like a sad puppy and apologising until you can't help but smile and wrap him up in your arms

He'd hug you back so tightly, and once you're in those arms, you are not getting out for the rest of the day

He'd immediately become glued to you, as if afraid you'll get mad again and leave him behind. He'd continuously offer to do things for you, get things for you, buy things for you. Anything to make you happy despite your insistence that it's okay

I doubt the two of you would argue or disagree at all very often anyways, but when you do, it wouldn't take long for apologies and making up to happen :)

Hunter:

Weirdly enough, I think he'd stay upset for quite a while, needing time for himself to cool off after an argument

I think he'd go for a drive or a walk to clear his head as well as allowing you some alone time to do the same

It wouldn't be so much as you two avoiding each other, but more so that you recognise that sometimes the both of you need that alone time to sort through your thoughts. It's this maturity that keeps your relationship strong despite the arguments

After his walk/drive, he'd always arrive home with flowers or chocolates or your favourite fast food, asking you if you're okay or if you need more time

If you say you're okay, he'd apologise and tell you he loves you, then you’d spend the rest of the day snuggled up binging TV together 🤞🏻

Yechan:

Another sulker. Would for sure need to let off some steam by having a bit of a private dance practice or heading to the gym for a while, but once he's much more relaxed, he's then just taking his time and building his courage to go back to you and apologise

The two of you would meet up and sit in silence for a bit before both trying to speak up at the same time. The silliness of the moment would break the tension so fast

You'd forget why you were even mad in the first place, making jokes to each other about how silly of an argument it was and how dumb you both are, laughing together leaning into each other lovingly

You two would then sit in silence together before he'd randomly speak up and say he loves you, catching you off guard and fluttering you, to which he'd giggle

He'd tell you that he said it just because he wants you to remember it for when/if the two of you argue in the future. That, no matter what, he loves you and always wants you to be happy

You look at your boyfriend who is busy listening to samples and choosing new music for a song in Xikers’s upcoming album. You feel proud of him and impressed at the same time, loving the reactions he gives when he feels he has the right choice.

You sit quietly, turning in your chair slowly when you feel Minjae’s phone vibrate against the table and you pick it up. As soon as you notice the call from Hongjoong you tap him on his shoulder and hand him the phone. Minjae jumps at your touch making you roll your eyes as he talks to his senior.

“I am screwed,” are the first words you hear from him as he cuts the phone, you stare at him in confusion and ask, “What is going on?”

“Hongjoong hyung with Edenary are coming to check my samples,” he clutches his head as a groan rolls out from the back of his throat and he slams his head onto the table. “Min what the hell are you doing?” you gasp pulling him up by his shoulder as he lets out an exaggerated cry and falls into your arms.

You stare at him in shock before calming down and say, “Dude, these pieces are literally so good, I love them and I am sure they will too because you are talented baby.” Minjae lets out a dramatic gasp at your sentence saying, “Dude? Is your boyfriend ‘dude’ now? Great! My seniors are coming to check up on me, and instead of showering me with love you are calling me dude, how could yo-“

You don’t let him finish his sentence as you pull him by his shirt collar and kiss him willing to shut his ramble up. Your noses bump into each other and Minjae’s eyes widen for a millisecond before he kisses you back with fervour. His fingers trace down your nape and a breathy sigh intertwines your kiss as you enjoy the sweet taste of him.

You break off first, breathing heavily, as Minjae’s lips glisten in the low light of the studio and you lick your lips lightly. A light cough interrupts you two as Minjae’s eyes widen making you quickly let go of him and Hongjoong grins before saying, “Should I come back later?”

You walk into the practice room where Junmin is going over his parts in “Die for You” for their upcoming concert. You sit down quietly watching him practice the dance in awe.

The perks of having a main dancer boyfriend are watching his smooth and clear moves and getting to learn them well. The cons of having him is restraining yourself from doing all the things in your head when he looks terribly hot after practice.  Beads of sweat drop down his defined collarbones and your eyes travel with it, shamelessly checking him out to add to your imagination unknowingly Junmin picks up his shirt from the waist and wipes his sweat giving you a dangerous glance at his defined abs.

You were so lost in your own ministrations you don’t hear Junmin calling your name and blink abruptly when you see him stand in front of you, slight concern in his eyes as he looks into yours and before you can second guess yourself you are pulling him by his shirt collar and kissing him.

Junmin’s eyes widen to an unbelievable extent as he stills from the contact of your lips and his brain short-circuits. Your conscience kicks back instantly and you don’t even finish the kiss as you let go of his collar coughing lightly. Your face feels hot as your eyes are fixated on his collar and Junmin stares down with a red face.

“I- wow, I,” his blabbers fall to your heated face as you two stare at each other with wide eyes and he licks his lips lightly remembering your confidence and bashfully loving it inside.

For a second you two just stare at each other flustered equally and suddenly Junmin is cupping your cheek and kissing you. It is so sweet and so him, it makes you melt into it as his hand rests on the small of your back. As soon as you two break it returns to shy giggles and heated faces as Junmin looks everywhere but your eyes.

੭ㅤ𝅄ㅤ ꒰ CHOI SUMIN ꒱

Sumin yells at you as he splashes the water in your direction making you flinch in shock. “Choi Sumin,” you shout at him and run through the wet sand towards him. A gummy smile lights up his face as he laughs and jumps in the water before going deeper into the sea. You giggle again as you throw a small amount of water at him.

Even though it does no justice to the amount he has drenched you earlier with his light playful scream makes your day. You walk deeper into the sea, towards him and the water slowly rises. Sumin’s eyes sparkle as he picks up something and walks towards you adorably and clumsily.

Wrapping an arm around your waist he somehow tugs your back to his chest and puts his head on your shoulder pressing a light kiss on it. He opens his hand saying, “For you, my love.” You giggle feeling shy and fiddle with the shell on his palm unable to make eye contact.

“Look at me,” he whispers breathily in your ear making you whine and lightly kick him at his teasing instincts. “Pretty,” you whisper softly and he smiles cheekily adding, “Like you.”

“Cliché,” you snort and he retorts, “Whipped.”

You look at him in shock and wide eyes before scoffing and saying, “I am not the whipped one here.” “You’re not?” a rhetorical question leaves his mouth as he slowly traces his finger down your jaw, angles your face towards his and raises an eyebrow challenging you. You try to move your face making him tease you more and finally your restraint snaps.

Pulling him by the collar you crash your lips to his, lips moving along each other with fervour and haze. Your lips part for a while for a short breath and his hands are cupping your jawline pressing your lips to his again. The sun hits your skin in a golden hue and the water creates a cool backdrop among the heat of the kiss.

You rake your fingers through his damp hair, parting a few strands again as the air feels like sweet love around silence. Pressing your lips together multiple times, your noses bump a few times making you giggle and laugh at the weird situation. The kiss is messy yet perfect at the same time before you two part for good.

“Cliché,” he snorts this time and you retort, “Whipped.”

“Do you believe in love at first sight or should I walk by again?” you roll your eyes as you can almost hear the grin in your boyfriend’s voice as he stands behind you. Pursing your lips you tilt your head and turn around asking, “Why?”

“Can’t a guy just simply love his partner?” Jinsik smiles, his grin widening innocently making you shake your head. You are here, standing in a sunny parking lot, sweating and waiting for Sumin to pick you two up and Jinsik’s idea of brightening the situation is apparently saying cheesy pick-up lines.

“Are you a parking ticket? ‘Cus you have got fine written all over you,” he winks as a weird sound leaves your throat sounding between a half-gasp and a half-groan making his smile widen more.

“Please Jinsik, I love you but shut up,” you say, pressing your head lightly against his arms but you know you are just talking to a wall when you hear the next sentence roll off his tongue again, “If I could rearrange the alphabet I would put U and I toge-“

Before he can eat your mind with another worst pickup line ever, and any more that are coming after, you turn your head, grab his collar and press your lips to his. Jinsik's eyes widen in disbelief as he stumbles from your grip and your conscience returns almost as soon as you do it making you abruptly leave.

“What- How,” he gasps as you look away, biting your lips, sinking in the aftertaste of whatever you did right now while his brain still processes what just happened. “Your stupid cheesy lines are stupid,” you babble, not being able to maintain eye contact as he blinks and slowly gains back his composure.

“Are they now?” he hums, his hand slowly sneaking around your waist and tightening as you try to let go. “Jinsik, we are in the public,” you whisper frantically but god knows what this boy has been eating as his grip grows tighter and a teasing grin etches his face.

“Yeah, but you conveniently forgot that when you pulled me by the collar and kissed me,” the mischief behind those innocent eyes makes you smack him lightly as he giggles and hugs you. Your whines die quickly as you wrap an arm around him feeling him press light kisses to your head and bask in his scent that is so him, well at least before you groan and hit your head against his chest again.

“Do you have another heart? Because mine just got stolen!”

Hyunwoo and you walk by the river quietly in the dead of the night. If your parents or his hyungs knew you two would not live another day. But that’s the thrill of it! The wind ruffles his hair lightly as you look at him and giggle making him smile with his pretty little eyes.

When he reaches your door and you two stand not wanting to let go of each other. It feels stupid almost and lovesick at how you two keep trying to prove yourselves as friends. “Good night,” he says softly and you whisper it back swinging your hands with his. “Same time tomorrow?” you giggle and he sighs knowing he can never say no to you.

The next day you wake up to the familiar knock in your windows and Hyunwoo’s face appears as you roll it up. He grins and you smirk back before letting him enter. “Practice ended late,” he says as he enters and keeps on talking about how Jinsik and he had to do a choreography all while hanging half-way from the window.

Your eyes widen in panic as he keeps talking and you decide to do the last thing on your mind. You pull him by the collar, even though it’s a bit hard and pull him inside your room. Hyunwoo stumbles from the sudden pressure toppling over the sill and falls over you and finally, his mouth shuts up as he stares down at your flustered face.

“Did not think you would do that,” he whispers and your eyes widen as you stutter out, “No other option, you talk a lot.” Your words come out a lot breathier than you want them to and he nods smirking, “Sure.” “I hate you,” you murmur out when his teasing words keep spilling from his mouth and you can’t take it anymore and something comes over you as you pull him into a kiss.

For the second time that night, Hyunwoo is silenced and flushed as he falls into the lips he has dreamed of so much. The kiss is soft, the low lights in the room being your only witness and it’s secure like a bond you two have shared for so long. When you part Hyunwoo’s flush reaches to his ears and warmth creeps down your neck as he says, “Didn’t think you would do that either.”

He just thought you're a very pretty man<3 I mean, there are feminine looking men in the industry too so it doesn't matter if you're feminine/masculine presenting! He was well aware of the current time zone differences they were facing. New York held beautiful, bright blue skies. He knew his girlfriend was met with the dark night sky that he had hoped held many stars and a beautiful moon to shine down on her beauty.

He was startled the moment his phone rang in his hand. He blinked but answered it, realizing who it was. He was hoping to be greeted with a smile. The door shutting allowed his entire focus to be on her. He didn’t want to prod and pry, but his heart felt foreign. He had deeply wished he wouldn’t remember to feel so helpless with distance being a restriction from holding her. The last time he felt like this, he was in the military, unable to whisper calming words in her ears to calm her down.

Although, he wasn't really alone. As he'd lift his shirt to wipe the sweat from his face, he'd be startled by a small squeak and drop his hand to see you standing at the edge of the room, red and frozen with a hand plastered over your mouth

He wouldn't even be able to say anything, just as frozen as you are and staring back at you like a deer in headlights. “I-I brought you some food…” you'd mutter, holding up a bag of takeout

You'd just be sitting at the edge of the practise room watching the boys practise the same choreography over and over again. But despite the fact that all 10 of them were there, your eyes would be stuck on Seeun, specifically on his toned calves as he goes through the difficult moves with ease

The way his calves flex and relax at various moments in the choreography would have you completely mesmerised and you'd be surprised at how you never noticed how nice they were

You'd be so caught up in your own thoughts that you'd still be staring even as he approaches you, you somehow not even noticing that the music had turned off and the members had split off to the many corners of the room to either practise on their own or rest for a moment

A subtle chuckle would break your from your spell and you'd crane your neck up to see him smirking down at you, him making it very obvious that he noticed your gawking

He'd simply crouch down in front of you as you start to burn bright red from the embarrassment, patting your head and throwing various teasing phrases at you as you fought yourself not to glance at how his calves were flexed even as he just crouched like this

That's when your jaw would drop as he'd run one of his hands up his bicep, pushing the sleeve of his shirt up while flexing and observing his own muscles with a hard gaze. You'd freeze up seeing how truly muscular he is, something you never ever expected from him

He'd suddenly noticed you standing there, cheeks red and mouth open in awe as you stared at his arm. He'd quickly blush and hide his arm behind him like he was caught with something he wasn't supposed to have and stutter out a question as to why you were standing there

You wouldn't even answer his question, too enraptured by what you saw that you'd reach out and grab his arm, poking at his bicep and openly gawking as his breath quickly caught in his throat and he turned his head away from you attempting and failing to hide just how shy and flustered he was

He'd lay awake that night just thinking about the way your face looked as you admired him and the way your fingers felt on his skin. His giddy kicking of the mattress would earn him a well deserved scolding from Jinsik, his tired bunk mate

Hunter:

He'd be walking past the living room when he notices you sitting alone on the couch staring at your phone. He'd sneak up behind you, concocting a plan in his head to spook you until he gets close enough to see what you're looking at

He'd fail to stifle a smirk and a slight blush as he watches you shamelessly pausing and zooming in on a video of him performing die for you at one of the concerts. Specifically pausing and zooming at the exact moment he lifts his shirt

He'd chuckle and you'd quickly swivel around, slamming your phone down against the couch so hard that you honestly could've broken it. Your face would be flaming red as you scramble to explain to him what you were doing, him pretty much in tears with laughter at the situation

Once you've finally calmed down and he's gotten a hold of his hysterical laughter, he simply pats your head and says “you know you don't have to look at pictures when you have the real thing right here” his other hand moving to the hem of his shirt before you quickly grab it and hold it down, almost falling over the back of the couch in the process

He'd simply burst out laughing again as you're suffering from how hot you're burning up. For the rest of the day you'd refuse to look at him, any kind of interaction he'd try and make with you earning a petty pout and cold shoulder. But he doesn't care, he thinks its cute

Yechan:

He'd be the last one up in the morning and the members would end up sending you to his room to wake him up. You'd knock on his door, calling his name softly because you think he might be still asleep. You'd get a little louder when there was no response, assuming he must be sleeping hard but not wanting to enter the room and disturb his privacy

After a while, you'd give up, becoming impatient with how heavy of a sleeper he seemed to be. Though, when you open the door, your eyes meet his bare back as he stretches and reaches for the shirt hung over the back of his desk chair

You'd audibly gasp, causing him to turn around, eyes meeting your jaw dropped and bright red face as he smirks playfully at you. Your eyes would fall to his toned stomach, visible now that he's facing you and making him giggle teasingly

After a while of you just standing there and staring, he'd say “have you got a good enough look? Can I put my shirt on now?” in a teasing tone, causing you to stutter out some gibberish about the fact you ‘weren't even looking’ and ‘didn't care’ before slamming the door

You literally wouldn't be able to hold eye contact with him for the rest of the day, all while he's trying his absolute best to be as close to you as possible, knowing you're still thinking about him and loving how flustered you get when he's around

maybe telling your friends about your crush on hyunwoo hadn’t been your best idea yet.

look, you understood that they were trying to be supportive after you told them how haunted you were by the feelings you harbored for a certain friend, but this was not what you qualified as supportive.

you mentally cursed at your friend from the back seat of the van you found yourself in, holding onto the handle on the side of the car for dear life as you tried to not squish hyunwoo to death in every curve the car took a little too fast. you should’ve known, really, that they would pull some shit like that on the trip they planned. but you were naive, thinking only of achieving your lifelong dreams to spend christmas up in the mountains with your friends.

you kind of regretted it now, because making you sit next to hyunwoo on a four person row that was currently sitting five people was just the beginning of what would be four days of complete embarrassment and torture.

“yechan move your ass, i’m squishing the poor girl,” hyunwoo said as he tried to push yechan further down the seat, the poor boy being squished between hyunwoo and hunter’s girlfriend, and your best friend, aerum.

“i can’t move! areum is taking up too much space,” the younger boy complained as he glared at the girl sitting next to him.

“i’m not! hunter is too big for this row!” she retorted, making the mentioned guy roll his eyes with annoyance.

“you said you wanted me to sit with you!”

“i literally didn’t, i wanted to sit next to yn!” she complained, and you rolled your eyes again because you knew damn well she had orchestrated this whole thing for you and hyunwoo.

“can you guys please stop screaming?” junghoon asked from his comfortable, incredibly spacious double seat in the front.

“easy for you to say,” yechan said as he childishly moved around, looking for more comfort. “that’s it, someone had to take one for the team and get on someone's lap.”

your eyes widened in fear. oh, fuck no.

“not it!” you screamed, your pointer finger flying to touch the tip of your nose. you were followed by the rest of them, hyunwoo being the last one.

“fuck!” he complained, making you chuckle lightly in victory.

“someone has to carry him, not it!” areum blurted out as quickly as she could, keeping her finger in place.

you were fast, but not fast enough. your finger flew back to your nose milliseconds after hunter’s did, leaving you speechless at the fate you had met.

“i’m not carrying him,” you complained, shaking your head.

“he can carry you, you’re the losers so figure it out,” yechan said, smiling proudly.

“i’m a girl and i’m uncomfortable with this,” you spoke, earning groans from the boys in the row and laughs from the ones in front.

“don’t play that card, that’s so unfair,” yechan whined.

“i’m surprised you even made me sit here, really,” you continued on with your drama.

“she’s right, you guys are so impolite,” junmin agreed from his place in the passenger seat.

“you’re the one with the single seat, it’s literally your fault,” hyunwoo defended.

“if she gets a single seat then i should too!” your best friend chimed in.

“you’re sitting with your boyfriend, just go on his lap,” you pressed, glaring at her jokingly.

“if i do, everyone will start whining about us being coupley!” she retorted, making hunter nod in agreement.

“let’s all stop whining and suck it up,” minjae interrupted for the first time, looking stressed in the front seat. “yn can get shotgun when we drive back, but if you could deal with it for four hours you can deal with it for two more, now shush before i drive us off a cliff.”

silence followed after the oldest spoke, all of you reluctantly shutting up until seeun’s voice arose for the first time.

“who told him he’s the leader?” 

and hell broke loose again.

“yn, hey, wake up,” you heard a distant voice call out as a hand shook your shoulder slightly. you opened your eyes reluctantly and confused as to where you were until everything came crashing down when your groggy eyes met hyunwoo’s. “we’re here, you’ve been asleep for the past hour.”

thank god.

you nodded and sat up, stretching your body slightly in attempts to wake yourself up more, missing the small smile that took place in hyunwoo’s lips at the sight.

“aerum wanted me to let you know she wants to crash with hunter until yujun gets here, so i think you might have a room all to yourself,” he commented as you both got out of the car.

you had rented a six room house, and since yujun had stayed back to take an economics final, you had the privilege to stay alone for two of the four nights you were staying there.

“oh, thank god,” you sighed contently as you walked towards the house “i was not prepared to deal with how messy she is.”

hyunwoo chuckled at your words, and your heart melted at the sound “do you think that’s how junghoon talks about me?”

“oh, yeah, definitely,” you teased as you entered the building, smiling at how big and cozy it was. 

you missed the way hyunwoo’s eyes stayed fixated on you, admiring your smiling face like you had hung all the stars in the sky just for him until his thoughts were interrupted by a loud voice approaching the both of you.

“you guys have been chosen to go grocery shopping, by the way, congratulations!” sumin said cheerfully, patting hyunwoo on the back.

“what? how?” you complained.

“we played rock paper scissors and you weren’t there so you lost,” the older male shrugged, winking at you when hyunwoo wasn’t looking. “so take the car and go ahead.”

you groaned in protest, knowing it was no use to argue with him and grabbing the keys before heading out. 

the drive to the store was filled with random chatter and the sound of the radio playing whatever it could pick up, mostly old songs. both of you headed into the bulding, hyunwoo grabbing one of the large carts and letting you lead the way.

“i think we should forget the cereal sumin asked for,” you commented as you read the list sumin had sent you. “he doesn’t deserve it.”

hyunwoo chuckled and nodded in agreement “i like the way you think, yn,” and you had to bite your tongue to not squeal like a little girl. 

“i’ll take this one instead,” you smiled and tiptoed to attempt to grab the cereal box that stood unnecessarily high on the shelf. hyunwoo noticed your struggle and moved to help you, his hand instinctively holding your waist as he reached for the box.

“here, i got it,” he said, voice almost a whisper as you stood almost frozen in place. you had been friends for a long time, but being that close was completely uncharted territory.

“uhm, yeah, thanks,” you mumbled when he moved away, trying to regain your composure. “next is green onions, we can’t forget the green onions,” you rushed, walking away and leaving a slightly confused hyunwoo behind.

“i guess she really likes green onions,” he muttered to himself as he followed you.

a whole day had passed since the cereal aisle incident, and even if nothing had actually happened, you couldn’t help but act awkward around hyunwoo. he hadn’t done anything wrong, of course, but the way he made you feel with every single tiny action of his was starting to worry you.

“i can’t act casually around him, it’s so bad,” you groaned as you sat with aerum on the front porch of the house. “he genuinely makes me want to scream and giggle just by smiling at me, i think i have a disease of some sort.”

your friend snorted softly, shaking her head. “you don’t have a disease, you have a crush,” she pushed your shoulder with hers “and i think he feels the same.”

you looked at her once you heard her words, glaring at her slightly and jokingly “don’t get my hopes up for nothing please.”

“i’m not! i promise,” she smiled as she ruffled your hair “you should just go for it, i think he’d be more than happy if you did.”

“i’ll think about it,” you smiled affectionately as you watched her stand up when hunter got out of the house, waiting for her to join him. “i’ll see you later, enjoy.” 

“bye hun, think about what i told you!” she exclaimed before walking hand in hand with her boyfriend. you watched them leave with a small smile on your lips, wishing that was you with a certain someone.

“hey,” you heard someone call from behind you just as you were going to stand up, making you turn around to watch hyunwoo walk towards you.

“hey, what’s up?” you smiled, your hand moving to play with your rings as a nervous habit. 

“nothing much, i just saw you here alone and i thought i'd join you,” he returned the gesture, sitting next to you. “i wanted to talk to you, too.”

your heart began racing at his words, thoughts flooding your head trying to figure out what he could possibly need to talk to you about.

“sure, go ahead,” you tried to mask the nervousness in your voice.

“i just wanted to apologize for making you uncomfortable yesterday at the store, i didn’t mean to,” he said, and you could hear how nervous he was as he looked anywhere but your direction. “i promise i wont get that close to you again.”

your eyebrows furrowed as he spoke, a pang of guilt stabbing your chest as you realized what he meant. “you didn’t make me uncomfortable, hyunwoo.” 

his eyes flew to yours immediately, eyebrows furrowed in confusion. “i didn’t? then why are you acting so weird?”

oh.

you wanted the floor to swallow you whole.

“don’t even worry about it,” you said, trying your hardest to dismiss the fact that he had noticed the effect he had on you, even if he didn’t know why.

“you sure?” he pressed, and if it wasn’t for the embarrassment that invaded your entire being you would’ve thought it was cute how much he cared.

“i’m sure, i really don’t mind having you close to me.” and that just made it even worse.

you were on the verge of standing up and walking away towards the woods where you would eventually (hopefully) get lost and disappear when you realized his body had relaxed significatively, a small smile overtaking his pretty lips. “you don’t?”

“not really,” you said, barely above a whisper as you tried to sound as nonchalant as you could.

“good, i’m happy to hear that,” he said as his smile only grew wider. a couple seconds passed before he scooted his body closer to you, his shoulder now slightly grazing yours. 

“the snow is pretty, isn’t it?” you said to break the nervous silence that surrounded you, making  your strongest effort to bite back a giddy smile. 

“yeah, beautiful,” he breathed out at the same time that you turned to look at him, finding him already staring at you.

“it’s christmas morning, yn, don’t be a grinch,” seeun said from the other side of the door, his consistent knocking starting to drive you insane.

“it is barely morning, it’s seven am,” you groaned, covering yourself further with the covers as if that were to shield you from your friend’s annoying voice.

“if you can check your phone for the time then you’re wide awake, now come on before i open your presents for you.” now that woke you up.

“you wouldn’t dare,” you exclaimed, sitting up from your bed abruptly.

“believe me, i would,” he dared, and even though you knew he wouldn’t, you couldn’t risk it.

“give me five minutes and i’ll be right down,” you groaned as you stood up from the bed, going to the adjacent bathroom to get decent to go to your friends.

a smile overtook your face as you walked down the stairs, all your friends sat under the christmas tree the house had come with, dressed in ridiculous festive pajamas as they eagerly waited for you to join them.

“i’m here, go ahead,” you chuckled as you approached them, seeun not sparing you a single look before he jumped right ahead to find what boxes belonged to him.

“morning, yn,” hyunwoo smiled as you made your way onto the couch, where a spot next to him was conveniently available.

“morning, hyunwoo,” you smiled back.

“IS THAT YN? GIVE HER THE PHONE,” a familiar voice screamed through hunter’s phone, making your attention shift towards it. the boy handed you the phone and you couldn’t help but smile at the sight of yujun. “HI YN,” he exclaimed.

“hi, yujunnie,” you chuckled affectionately “how are you?”

“bad, awful, stuck at an inn in the middle of nowhere with no presents whatsoever,” he pouted.

“i’m sorry, that sucks,” you mentioned, feeling bad for the boy in the other line.

yujun sighed exaggeratedly “it’s fine, there's a pretty girl here so at least that’s that.”

you giggled and continued to talk to him for a couple more minutes before moving onto opening presents with all your friends. you were in the middle of cleaning up all the wrapping paper when you felt a tap on your shoulder, hyunwoo being the culprit.

“can you come outside with me for a minute?” he asked, sounding a bit more nervous than he wanted to. you nodded and followed him outside, hugging your arms as the cold air hit you. “i got you something else,” the boy smiled as he extended a small box towards you.

“thank you, hyunwoo, that’s really sweet of you,” you thanked as you grabbed the box, not trying to hide the smile he caused you. you opened the gift and let out a soft breath at the sight of a small necklace, a charm sitting adorably in the middle. “it’s so pretty, thank you so much but why-” 

“sumin told me you like me,” hyunwoo interrupted.

your eyes widened as you looked up to him in fear, experiencing the five stages of grief in a single second before trying to quickly brace yourself for the rejection you had ahead of you. you were going to kill sumin.

“he did what?” you asked, the tone of your voice betraying your astonishment.

“he only did it because i like you too, and i wanted to tell you soon because i know how much you like christmas but i was really scared because i didn’t know if you liked me back, so he had to convince me somehow but i wouldn’t believe him so he told me,” he rambled on nervously, his inexplicable ability to speak coming out to save you in a moment of panic.

you stood there for a couple of seconds, unable to move or say anything at the shock that was knowing your crush liked you back.

“yn?” hyunwoo asked, trying to bring you back to reality. you couldn’t find the words to express the happiness you felt in that moment, so you did what any sensible person would do; take his face in your hands and smash your lips together.
