i told some friends abt the jjba video i'm making and it's spiraled into me telling them abt how giorno has SOOOOO much potential and it was all WASTED because he was essentially turned into a DM's terrible, overpowered NPC. he was so interesting in those first couple of episodes and it meant nothingggggg (i know u do not care for mr giorno but i like to hear ur thoughts abt this series) —barbatos

let me be clear, giorno is my least favirote jojo protag... but i still dont HATE him, i just find him the least interesting, which isnt even fully his fault. i think he has a lot of potential to be a great character! but araki kinda just didnt do anything with him lol??

like bruno has a way more compelling link to the drug crisis and issues inside their mafia that Giorno does. you forget Giorno also apparently grew up in the area, because he acts like he doesnt know fucking anything ever like he's a tourist there..

and because araki for some reason decided that he didnt want Dio being Giorno's dad to be a whole thing, Giorno alSO kinda loses this facet of his character and insteed this angle is kinda done through Trish but better, wHILE she barely gets to be on screen.. so likE!

it just sucks, giorno is a funny interesting character in theory but to be just is nothing. he just isnt executed well and i forget he's apart of P5 a lot because he doesnt feel like he's doing anything and that everything in that part would still happen without him. he's just there to kill Diavolo at the end with what is basically a cheap win button when i think if literally simply given to trish would have at least had more emotional depth

idk! i think Giorno and trish could have been lumped into one character and formed one fully well made character who is both interesting AND has screen time lol. Like sometimes i feel like araki wanted to give Dio a daughter and make Giorno a girl, but when the publishers told him he shouldnt it feels like he made Trish as his, whats the word.. spiritual stand in for what he wanted giorno to be
