Bestie!!! I am having random yet specific Eddie thoughts again and have no one else to rant to about it forgive me 🙇‍♀️

I see a lot of fics and posts about mechanic!eddie or neighbor!eddie who works on cars and reader goes to get her car fixed by him and romance/smut ensues. But I was thinking how messy mechanics offices typically are and Eddie and Wayne (based on their trailer) don’t seem the most organized. SO I raise you organized!reader who makes a job at going to businesses and sorting through paperwork and fixing office spaces so they function better.

And maybe reader has like an ad out in the paper and Wayne has been telling Eddie to start going through all the invoices and properly date and sort everything but Eddie never does so Wayne hires reader to come in and do it. (Maybe she has a deal where the first day of organizing is free then she will charge for each additional day or something)

And I’m thinking this is post graduation so reader was from Eddies school (maybe the grade below or something) and they weren’t unfriendly to each other but they weren’t friends either and since she’s around more they start to get really close and it makes them wonder how they made it this long in the same town without being super close from the start.

And Wayne is noticing that Eddie is spending a lot of time getting distracted while working on cars to look through the window that’s shared from the garage to the office and Wayne’s just chuckling to himself waiting for Eddie to get the nerve to actually say something because the office is just about as tidy as it can be and they are running out of time!

Thanks for listening to me ramble this thought has been running around in my head for a month now 😂

bestie stop it right now i’m so🥹🥹🥹🥹 you leave cute little notes for eddie to find throughout his day: in his drawers, near the board full of car keys, taped onto the office phone, etc

you separate the thousands of pens, markers, and pencils and tell eddie to stop mixing them but he purposely never listens bc it buys him more time with you

giving eddie a list of tips on how to get tough grease stains out of his uniforms, eddie actually going on and trying but then he accidentally puts bleach on it and fucks his shirts up and you just think it’s the funniest thing ever. you buy him a new set of shirts and have to tear up the receipt so he has no choice but to take them

and what abt surprising eddie with lunch one day bc you noticed that he takes late lunches since he doesn’t have the time to go out and buy it between all the demanding customers. when you leave wayne just looks at a lovesick eddie, shakes his head and laughs and is like “son, this is probably the easiest decision you’d have to make in your life ever. marry that girl.”
